L'Escargot Montorgueil is also one of our favorite restaurants in Les Halles, their Boeuf Rossini is amazing, very flavorful and tender. My wife loves the truffle escargot, while I preferred the traditional escargot. Don't pass up the Crème brûlée and the Café Gourmand here, I know they are everywhere, but L'Escargot does a better than normal take on them. This is a fun and wonderful experience and the service is friendly and good, highly recommended...

The first time I heard of the "floating island" dessert was reading a Nancy Drew book 60 years ago. I finally made it last year. Yum! Anything in garlic sauce is delicious. Actually, leave the snails and frog's legs in the kitchen and just bring me a vat of garlic sauce and a baguette!

      Hi, professional herpetologist here!
So during the late 19th century, when anurophagy (frog-eating) was at its peak in Paris, the French government, in a bid to reduce public expenditure on veteran frog care homes, decided to put the legless frog bodies to productive economic use. They commissioned Gustave Eiffel to construct a large frog-drying structure, based on triangular Norwegian fish flakes. This structure, aptly named the 'Eiffel Tower', was used to dry over three million frogs a year, which would be sold off to luthiers who used the bodies in the making of violin bows.
Following, in typical French fashion, the frog protests of 1932, the Eiffel Tower was decommissioned and turned into an official tourist trap, or a 'piège à touristes officiel', and luthiers switched to other materials. However still to this day they retain the term 'frog' for the heel of the bow.

I thought eating frog legs was common. Maybe it’s just a southern thing in America idk

I hope these folks enjoyed their frog's legs. However the frogs didn't as they were alive when their legs were removed.

Great video, saved it for my trip in a couple of months. I was wondering who ia doing all the tagging and why those stantions are in the courtyard of the Palais Royal. I have a feeling after spending 3 months in France less than a year ago that the answers to these questions are particularly important to female visitors, and shouldn't be ignored.
The very far left mayor has allowed rat infestations at the Eifel Tower and Sacre Cours reach intolerable levels, and Parc de Mars at ET just hosted a gang rape against an American visitor, by guess who perps. Why pretend none of this is happening?

I don't like the disrespect to the food. The frogs died for our enjoyment, you don't have to play with it.
