Ended the video and needed to say. Here in Brazil woman don't split the bill, it's like 5-10% of the woman who does that. Even when you are in the university and don't have too much money or don't work, they expect you to pay the bill. Only one girlfriend that I had offer to pay the bill, she made more money than me, but besides that, you don't see this here. And to be honest, it sucks. Really sucks. But as the guy said, until you got in a relationship, the normal would be split the bill. After that, you can keep splitting the bill, treat each other or whatever you want. Coming from the US that’s actually refreshing to see the girls say to split because of the thought of being equal. I’m from New York and I’ve bumped into too many entitled crazies that expect you to buy you something first day of getting to know them. Crazy. No one likes to feel used up.
The historical reasons for men paying on dates are no longer relevant so it should be split. Of course women still expect men to adhere to their gender roles but are only too eager to stop adhering to their own. Even though a lot of those girls said split I would bet that deep down they would think less of a guy if he doesn't pay.

I might occasionally pay for the woman, if she traveled a long way to see me, and it’s near my place. It’s like my way of saying thank you, a kind of appreciation. But I will only do that if I can feel the interaction is going very well, and that she’s into me. The problem with paying for the girl can be that, maybe there’s no chemistry, but then she realizes that she can get the guy to pay for her, so that becomes something she can milk.
