This is the secret for redfish and trout in the heat! we went kayak fishing for speckled trout and redfish in Ingleside Texas. It was hot and difficult but so was the bite. Targeting cooler water next to structure and cover was the key to success in the Texas heat.
If you love kayak fishing and want to learn how to get on more fish this is the channel for you! I am an avid Kayak angler that loves to chase multiple species around the state of Texas and beyond. Species include redfish, speckled trout, flounder, black drum, sailfish, tarpon and much more. I truly love throwing topwater. I am outfitted with the Old Town Autopilot 120 and my gear includes Shimano reels and Falcon bait casting rods. Saltwater tackle includes 6th Sense wake baits, Salt Strong paddle tails, and Heddon topwater spooks and texas eyes jig heads. When I go saltwater kayak fishing I hit multiple areas. My stomping grounds ! I have a hot spot right there and you were really close. When you leave the Bahia boat ramp, head north instead of the ship channel. Really shallow water but that road Inglewood curves up the hill and right there is a deep cut . Huge reds all day long there. Cool video !

Texas eyes jig head 1/4 oz 3/0 hook. You might wanna go lighter on the jig, head weight it’s up to you depends on how fast you want to retrieve it over shallow water. I appreciate you watching and yes, despite the wind, it was a great time looking to be back there soon.

Dang dude that wind and waves was no joke.
South wind, no protection whatsoever once we made it across the deeper cut. It was OK but still pretty bad.
The red at the end was worth it, though should’ve made a couple more passes, but it was getting miserable
Slam shady bomber is a must have! I’ve been thinking of getting an electric motor for my kayak for a while now, but I don’t know how I’d register it since I bought it used. Any suggestions?
Are you in Texas? Because you don’t have to register the motor. You just have to register the kayak with the motor.
I just reread your comment. That might be an issue but I’ve seen people do it before.

There’s also a form that you can fill out, called an affidavit of ownership. I think you can fill this out without having the proper paperwork promising that you bought the kayak and now are the owner.
