Thank you ladies. I was so worried that I was going to offend my super lovely followers but now that i've got the green light then i'll do that regularly. On my hens do (nearly 15 years ago now) they dressed me up as 'Vicky Pollard' and part of the outfit was quite a large tummy so I might even use that next time!

Dear brave Melissa!!, I really appreciate you going that extra step when you added the bulk. It was not offensive in the least bit . You are professional and tactful and it shows! Often , I try to imagine in my mind, what an outfit would actually look like for large chest and middle . But when you demonstrated that, in my mind it moved from imagination to actual and that is helpful!!

I'm very happy to see that you are taking into account that some of your followers are living in warm climates. I'm in California, and although I love your coat and blazer collection and the way they finish an outfit, that concept doesn't work well here. They say that California climate is Fall in the morning, Summer at noon, Spring in the afternoon and Winter in the evening--which makes layering a must. Add to that, living in a beach city we are very casual and it makes looking smart a challenge.

The tummy scarf disguise could have easily been offensive but the way you introduced it was perfect. It worked perfectly to show us your point. I would love to see more tips for pear shaped women who now no longer have the small waist due to nearing 50. I no longer have a clue on how to dress. Thank you so much for your videos.

Have you seen the body shape master class videos that I do on here? The last one I used my mum (a pear shape) but each episode i've used different 'real women' and dressed them live in the studio. Each have different body challenges. If you click on my logo then select the videos tab you'll see all of the videos i've done in the one place.

Hi Melissa. I love that you added the ‘extra weight’. I think so much of fashion and styling is visual. Without being able to “see” the styling on different body types and how to trick the eye it doesn’t work. Thanks for all you do. I was diagnosed with a life changing condition mid forties and my medications keep weight on me.
I’m struggling trying to figure out how to style my new body is hard. Your videos are game changers.

This was just so very helpful in so many ways! Thank you for all your efforts here. TRULY appreciated! I’ve got a bit of that tummy area going on and look good from the front when I do a sort of French tuck but always so big from the side also because of my bigger bust as well, so your tip with the blazer was brilliant. I never heard that from any other stylist here on TH-cam yet. Also loved the tips using shoulder pads to balance out the bigger bust and also minimize it with v-necks. Seeing it all visually rather than just hearing it really made such a difference…definitely had a much bigger impact and I was not offended at all by your tummy demonstration ;) Very smart and thoughtful of you, though, to preface it with what you said. You just never know who’s going to get all up in arms, these days, by what you do, don’t do, say, or don’t say 🤦‍♀️. I, personally, would like to thank you, kindly. The problem with that is it’s often depends on where someone’s waistline is and how big that waistline is and if I verbally just talk through this it isn’t as good as visually showing you. In order to visually show you with comparisons I’d need several volunteers in the studio at the same time and that’s harder than you think to organise. Sorry. I have just filmed a how to disguise a larger stomach video and from memory I think I used belts in that. X
