Wow, the outfits you put together for Lyn honestly looked amazing. Especially the last one (brown with blue jeans🤎😮). I noticed the necklace and earrings really made a difference too. Loved the way you and Keira worked together too, a great combination on screen together xx
At 65 I had to laugh on how people were surprised she was 61………..we don’t all look like Aunt B or an old lady! Many of us are active, love fashion, take care of ourselves, exercise, eat well and LOVE going to the pub 🍺🍻🍺🍻 heading there now….
@@marshacappy159 me too! And I do 18-20,000 steps most days and yoga most days. I like clothes far more than is really good for me! Everyone have a look at Middleaged Minx Jo Good on TH-cam to see what nearly 70 can be like.
Being that lady in the masterclass, this was an amazing experience and a real confidence booster. I think from previous comments, we are all looking younger as we age. It’s just a matter of embracing it and loving life. 🦋
I’m also a gardener, consultant and garden designer. That’s why I started looking for help with what to wear. I can’t believe my luck with this video. Genus do great gardening clothes but I have to save up and just buy in January when they have a sale.
I'm also a gardener and love my Genus garden clothes. Like you, I also wait for a sale. Their trousers are so comfortable and practical. This video has given me great ideas for styling round them.
Me too! I am always running around busy with designing, planting, maintenance, and project management. I used to be in banking and accounting, so I was always dressed nicely but now I feel like I've turned into a frumpy dresser. Excellent video for us!
I learn new things with every video. Your attention to detail blows my mind! Thanks to Lyn for volunteering! I hope she really starts feeling better about her style after this masterclass. I liked particularly the teal suit and the last white jumper, the color and texture of both looked amazing on her!
Wow wee she’s 61 😳 what amazing skin. I still get something out of these Masterclasses despite not having the body shape you show- I apply the opposite! 😃 x
Thank you so much for your work! Thanks to you, my colleague now calls me the best dressed woman at school. I totally changed my wardrobe and fitted it to my needs. I love it! Every woman should know you! ❤
Couldn't agree more with Lori. It is refreshing to see nice looking real life options featured, not 'styled' impractical clothes on a show like this. I garden most days and love these outfits, though the white tee isn't going to stay white long... ;-) Thanks!
This was an awesome interaction and had me laughing right along with you! This is exactly what I needed. I work a job that will take me into construction sites and giving tours through buildings that are under construction. I meet the people and want be presentable but then I need to put on a hard hat, safety glasses and a glow yellow vest. And layers are critical as depending on the air system it could be hot or cold.
I’m glad shoulder pads are back, so long as they don’t get too extreme again, as they did in the 80s. I’m gradually adding them to my beloved knit blazers and cardigans, they are such a huge improvement. My shoulders are slightly narrow, but as I have a full bust, I can’t size down in jackets enough to fit my shoulders. A 1/4- or 1/2-inch straight-edge shoulder pad takes up the extra fabric and improves the overall silhouette.
I'm a gardener and garden designer and have been following you for a while. You have transformed the way I shop for clothes but this video felt made for me. Genus trousers will always be my go to in the garden. They are so comfortable and practical and can be styled up and down. There's some great advice here to avoid the after work walk of shame into the supermarket. Thank you.
This is my favorite styling channel! I have watched a ton of different ones, but your style tips for the everyday woman really resonate with me. From the look I’m trying to achieve: polished and lovely to body shape mindfulness and capsule wardrobe, it’s all been so helpful. I’m pleased with the changes in my closet, appearance, and mindset. Thank you!
At 61 I don’t even consider her older, but as I’m 71 I guess I wouldn’t. I’m frequently told i look in my 50s although I’d probably say 60ish, but stying advice like this helps keep me looking my best. I’m never going to give up!
Ouch! "Even older women'. At 75, I continue to work full time, and never leave home without intentional dressing What's in your head is infinitely more influential than the numbers 😊
The outfits kept looking better and better as the video progressed. As you were styling the last one, I realized that your beautiful model would look even more youthful and stylish with chin length hair.
Hi Melissa and friends / colleagues, I really enjoyed watching and listening today (and every day really), I especially love the brown/bronze tones you showcased today, they looked so beautiful!! Those are the colours I generally gravitate toward as a “ginger” I never go for black in tops, jackets or shoes actually, I don’t know why but the brown and autumnal colours are for me. I always enjoy your videos and I am very glad that I found your channel….a happy accident I like to think of it as lol. It is Canadian thanksgiving weekend now and it is what could be described as a typical English day, windy, rainy and generally miserable. I was born in wales 🏴 and grew up in Buckinghamshire so well versed in the climate that can change in a blink of an eye. So…..many thanks for sharing your wonderful talents as a stylist and generally down to earth person, I think most people would not feel intimidated by your suggestions in fashion. I can only assume that it’s not easy to film, produce, edit and upload these videos to You Tube so I give you mad kudos for that!! Enjoy your Sunday and upcoming week and really hope you have a beautiful and productive week. Lots of love 🩷 🩷 Tina 🩷
Absolutely loved this session. I’m a similar age group and body shape and these styles really made sense (although I live in Australia and don’t really need many layers). I love your show Melissa ❤
Love all your videos Melissa. I am 66 and stay in great shape.love all the outfits you put her in. I also work in a job that is physical and sometimes I feel frumpy! It’s hard when I don’t know my exact body shape. I’m between being athletic and an upside down triangle, because of my wide shoulders and wide rib cage🤷♀️it’s a bit confusing. Thank you!!❤️
We can help you work that out but generally speaking it sounds like you’re broader on top so you to broaden your lower half so that you look more balanced. Please get in touch at www.mmpersonalstyling.co.uk if you need our help x
Great video Melissa, excellent advice and I commend you for your grace when responding to unkind or rude comments . I really appreciate all the hard work that goes into making a video like this 💕😊
Lynn is a similar body shape and age to me, so I find this episode very relatable. I spend a lot of my time volunteering at the Foodbank, dog walking by the coast, and playing golf when possible. I wore a uniform all of my working life, and I'm still adjusting to retirement 🙃 Love these videos, thanks to Melissa and the team, and also Lynn ❤
Hi to all three of you. You both did such an amazing job as usual. I love all the outfits you put on your model. She looks so more stylish now. I totally agree. Anytime I buy purple I don’t wear it and agree purple fleece doesn’t look good on me for sure. My favorite casual look was the brown blouse and the purse and shoes…just so good on Lynn. Then you tried the sweater…jumper for you there. I almost think that was even better. I love nice long coats and have cream and black ones. That coat is so good. The blue pant suit was gorgeous. I think I liked that better than the dress. You all are the best❤❤❤
Only just “found you” and so loving your videos. I Keep rushing back to my wardrobe and trying different combinations taking on board your tips. Feeling very encouraged and excited. Wardrobe is feeling rejuvenated and ideas for when I am shopping. Need to find the shoulder pads! ( real kiwi 😊60 yr old apple size 12/14) Thankyou
Another great video Melissa… Great explanation of the right type of jumper to wear for a larger chest … I now see most of my jumpers are too bulky (and take up way too much room in my closet!).
Thank you a lot for your content, it is great and really helpful. Would be so interesting to have a special on Wellingtons, high quality ones, cheaper ones, wider calfs, smaller calfs, lower and higher up, for walking a lot etc… Would be so useful for upcoming winter
Love how streamlined your links are for shopping. Got to say though, that velvet dress didn’t flatter this lady, in terms of things you taught me. 😂 the suit was sooo much better. Anyway. Thanks for all your amazing “real life” content.
Thank you for this video. My lifestyle is definitely more casual, so it really helps. Linn looked stunning in everything. Thanks again to you and the whole team👍
Thank you Melissa! I enjoy all of your videos & this one especially! I hope Monty is well - I don't recall seeing him in this video! Have a wonderful week!
Nice to see someone with slightly broader shoulders. Mine are a bit wider than my hips and I have to avoid the tops with the extra shoulder details which are usually shown. Thanks 😊
Thank you for the tip about sizing the velvet blazer. I have three size small, double breasted, scuba fabric jackets from Attitude Unknown (a Walmart brand). They look far more expensive than they actually are. When I wear them unbuttoned, they come to a point at my waist, which really creates the hourglass shape I want. I can button them, but they look terribly tight, probably because of my 34F chest. I will never button them because they look too small. However, going up a size (I did try) makes them look sloppy. I think they are very flattering when unbuttoned. I have had some qualms about not being able to button them thanks to Stacy and Clinton of "What Not To Wear" fame. I am glad to know that it really is okay not to be able to button a blazer if it looks good otherwise.
Do it! I'm 71 and I thought the same about shopping in H&M. I started about 18 months ago, just looking for a few low priced holiday pieces. It's now my first go to shop. If you want really high end, maybe not, although they have higher end online, but great jackets, knitwear, and best fitting jeans I've ever had. Definitely worth a look.
Love the retail gun idea - it will be the only gun I would ever want to own! I have also seen sticky velcro used to hold belt excess down in place, can be purchased at a haberdashery or Hobbycraft
OMG, fab vlog as always. Great ideas again. As a 62 yr old who loves clothes, style with plenty lumps and bumps, makes my own clothes (mostly) i'm off to check out my pattern stash. Thanks again for the inspiration 🎉
What a great and fun video with you lovely ladies 🤩 as always packed with useful and practical tips 🙌 so very much enjoying these Sunday videos and many thanks to Melissa and the rest of the participants 💖
The cream color jumper with the cream skirt is lovely. I can not wear turtlenecks because my neck looks shorter with them. Would this jumper which does not hug the neck look good on someone with that ‘turtlenecks draw attention to my shortish neck issue?’
I loved how you styled Lynne and she looked great in everything. On a practical note though - what colour other than white for t shirts can you recommend? I understand the neutral and brightening effects, but I cannot keep white clean for long unless I don't do anything at all. And Lynne works with soil!
I thoroughly enjoy your videos and learn something in each of them, even if it is not my body shape. Beautiful model, she looks great in all outfits 👏😍
Another great video today, thanks team. I’m saying hello from NZ and I am most jealous of the range of affordable clothing you show on your show. Down under here, prices are high most of the time. I’m now aiming to buy towards a capsule wardrobe after watching your videos. Just one thing - you show lots of jackets and jerseys in your ensembles, but (and maybe I haven’t seen one yet ), I wonder about more summer weight outfits and outfits for those going through menopause. Melissa, you always look so elegant on screen. However, I think today your sweater was too large on you - you are just so petite. Thanks so much for all you do for your videos, it shows in the end product we are lucky enough to see.
You’ll need to watch our summer videos to see the light summer jackets that we showed. It’s going into winter here so light jackets aren’t available in our shops so I can’t show them at this time of the year.
Brilliant video as usual. I struggle with ankle boots and the length of your jeans. When you sit down your jeans rise up the leg and there is a big gap between the top of your boot and the bottom of the jeans, especially if you are wearing ankle grazer length. Does this matter? Would you wear a sock to fill the gap? Struggling here to look my nest 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😔
@@mmpersonalstyling That would be the best bet but they are quite difficult to find unless you wear a knee length boot. Thank you for your reply and keep up the good work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
love love love! 🎉 The 24/7 COS v neck t in white has not been in stock in many weeks. could you please source us another deep v neck tee in white and/ or ivory? 🙏🙏❤🎉
I loved the blue velvet pants suit on Lynn. I hope she kept that one! She looked stunning! The blue dress was not nearly as flattering. It would have looked better if it had a V-neck. Possibly could have added a patterned or contrasting color silk scarf styled to create a “V”since I don’t think that just adding a long necklace would have been enough.
This one really speaks to me. More everyday fashions for retired home bodies
61?! Where? She looks fabulous! Another great video. Thanks Melissa

Well all I can say is gardening keeps you looking young! 😂I need to do more of it.

Aww Lyn! I feel that I spend so much time outside I don't know how to dress when I go into town! Thank you for another amazing video :)
You are so welcome!
Lynn, the brown suits you.
I don’t think it matters but if it matters to you then just wear a longer length boot underneath instead.
@@mmpersonalstyling That would be the best bet but they are quite difficult to find unless you wear a knee length boot. Thank you for your reply and keep up the good work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
So interesting as always, thank you for sharing
Thank you again, Melissa, for your excellent work! Lin - wow - any skincare, diet or other secrets you want to share?!?
I think a lot of fresh, countryside air helps!
love love love!
Wow- she looks incredible in Red!!!
