Hello Charles, congrats on your TH-cam channel! and for the acquisition of the Canon 1DX Mark II body! may it bring you great pictures and videos! I want to share my 2 cents about this camera. So I have been using this camera since 2022 when I acquired it second hand. I payed 2000 dollars with 213.000 shutter actuations with 2 original batteries; one battery is original from 2020 and one is from 2022. This camera belonged to a friend a mine and bought it new in 2019 I believe. I also received 2 CF cards and 2 CFast cards (all of them are 64 Gb) with original packaging. It was my main camera until the start of this year when I purchased the Canon R6. Comparing these two cameras I have observed in my opinion that at base ISO of 100 the images are just superb, the color rendering the color skin the dynamic range, that "Canon color science" and 3D pop is truly there. I am a wedding photographer and I can say that I often still use this camera because of the color rendition. Now in low light the Canon R6 with its eye tracking capabilities is far superior at focusing and at keeping the colors and dynamic range beyond ISO 6400. However if you have great light situations then this camera will give you and is given me stunning pictures with beautiful colors and 3D pop, it is truly a work of art and and "army" of people have worked and researched for this camera to be great. It truly was worth 6000 dollars when it was new. I personalty didn't afford until 2022 when I jumped from the 5D mark III (which is also a great camera) to this one. I didn't want in 2022 a Canon R6 because I understood the importance of correct color reproduction and 3D pop effect that this camera gives. I still use this camera and my clients are very happy with the results. I use and recommend for maximum picture quality with this camera the following lenses: Canon 24-70 f/2.8 Mark II, Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS Mark II, Canon 24mm 1.4L Mark II, Canon 50mm 1.2L, Canon 85mm 1.2L Mark II, Canon 135mm f/2. But if you would give me only one lens then I would choose the 50mm 1.2L, Cheers!
Wow you overpaid I bought one 4 months ago with 5k shutters for 1000$ And couple days ago I bought second one with 64k shutters for 900$ both buddy’s I got with 2 batteries
using a 1dx mark ii may not have the bells and whistles of the latest mirrorless cameras, but it makes the PROCESS of photography (thinking, anticipating, composition with limited 20mpxls) a whole lot more enjoyable. Using the latest cameras have almost taken the whole process out of photography, just point and shoot. I think its just a level below AI generating the pictures, at that point the art of capturing images may be entirely a thing of the past. Enjoy this limited experience while its still possible!
Great video! I was wondering if you think i should upgrade from a canon eos m50 to this or invest in better lenses. I’m 14 years old and have been photographing for about 4 years, i have a 24-105mm f4 mark i, a sigma 35mm f1.4, a 50mm f1.8 and a 15-45mm kit lens. I have been wondering for a long time now if it’s worth upgrading or waiting a bit longer to buy a newer camera for a lower price, or just buy new glass. What’s your thoughts??? 🧐
honestly, it really all depends on you’re shooting needs. I don't know what you take pictures of personality but... If you really need/intend on using the high burst rate especially, 4K video, or 1080P @ 120fps slow motion. I think it is a great deal considering most DSLR‘s don’t have this type of capability. If your adapting lenses just keep in mind that the 1DX Mark ii only works with full frame EF lenses. and you don’t wanna make any lenses paperweights by getting a new body that they don’t work with. I personally would always get better glass before a newer body, unless my camera has limitations from allowing me to capture my vision. In other words once your camera, can’t keep up with you anymore. I hope this helps!
If you're happy with your lenses and are interested in better tech I'd suggest an entry-level body from Canon's R lineup like the R50 or R10. They're cheap, have all your modern features like their top-tier autofocus, and they're mirrorless

Before this i have always used an old 70D, which started to annoy me with certain limitations. When you are starting out, do not instantly jump to a high end DSLR. Buy a cheaper body, and invest the rest of your budget into good lensen with good, silent and fast AF Motor. When doing sports, i would always advise a good zoom lens. Try to buy a lens which will give you 300MM or more. This makes for great shots!

Sony for videos not for photography I switch from Sony A7riii to canon 1dx mii I wasn’t happy with Sony a specially doing racing or sport you have to go with Sony A1 and pay 5k for A1 I can buy 5 of 1dx mii for Sony A1 price

No, it originally came with my C70. but I’m repurposing it for this camera since my C70 has a bunch of handles and grips on it anyways.

if you have a microSD card, and an adapter (like a USB-C hub), to plug into your phone like I do for my iPhone then yes!
