@@shannonwestbrook9633 I live with the body dysmorphia too. My relationship with food isn't always great either but I'm learning and attending therapies etc and learning to cope and live a life less consumed with my thoughts. I am so sorry you struggle too

Ruth is so wonderful and has been through so much, she deserves to feel beautiful and empowered for her courage! When she was swishing, I was tearing. Absolutely wonderful!
The positivity and confidence that these brides get from these two lovely ladies…that’s why I watch this. This is not anything I’d normally watch but I love this show for that

Yes the fox is very well done and it's something different too which is nice. It just makes me chuckle a bit when they say "oh my eyes are drawn to my tummy" when all I'm seeing is a massive tattoo all down one arm.

I kind of wanted to see the reaction to the second dress but her dance in the third was awesome. It was disconcerting to see the cut of the video in-between her walking to the pedestal and on it though. Had to do a double take.
Oh and she's very pretty. I might say that I'm surprised at the responses to this show. You're all so nice. As a large woman myself I don't see that kind of sensitivity often.
I'm recovering from bulimia as well and it can be so difficult. I hope the body positive movement helps more people with Ed's recover and hopefully not develop the ed in the first place

@@mahaylahuff2026 you are correct. It is admirable to defeat one unhealthy habit and to be credited, however as many can attest "a long road traveled from, still a long way to go."
Happiness will always be more important than your physical health. The weight at which someone is happy us the weight they should be, end of sentence. We shouldn't encourage anyone to have any sort of body, physically healthy or not. We should encourage them to get to the weight they're happy at.
It hurts seeing her upset about her body, like I'm not gonna lie but that dress on her looks great, I van imagine how many compliments she would be getting in her wedding!

From a health stand point its time for counseling. 400+ lbs is not heart healthy
There’s no way around eating healthy, when I forced myself to be anorexic I gained weight so fast it was shocking because my body would just save ever last calorie I was eating because the calories I was eating were empty calories with no substance, there’s truly no way around not eating healthy to be thin even working out doesn’t work and you body doesn’t even heal properly if you aren’t eating well so it’s insanely frustrating
Every single dress will be a big dress on a big person. You’re gonna have to get past the “body positivity” and move toward a more healthy lifestyle instead of accepting how you are.
I love these bridal dress consultants 💙 they understand it's not the bride that's the problem if they dont feel right in their dress... it's the dress that needs to change and they make sure their brides know it. Just lovely.

As a plus size bride myself I thought I needed sleeves to cover everything, but strapless honestly made me feel better in the end! I’m glad she went with the one she did, it’s beautiful!
I’ve never liked my arms. I’m going Friday to start the dress choosing process..I’m willing to try strapless and I may even try something fitted.

Happy to hear she's got her bulimia in check and love in her life, but binge eating disorder and overeating are also eating disorders that I notice the body positivity community doesn't always like to mention/ be real about.

They are empathetic and gentle.
These shows are quite old. Al has had bypass surgery and has lost a great deal of weight---she's nowwhere near the size she is on all these episodes---and they've moved on to other things. Don't know if they're ever going to make more, but someone interested in it might be able to find out (I'm not, so am not going to look for the info).
I remember when I married my late husband Tim in 1990 with almost *no* planning and we just wore our best clothes. I wore a suit and wool coat I bought at Lane Bryant, a plus size chain of stores in the United States. Tim never made a big deal about my weight. He expressed his concern for my health, but only once when I made it clear I didn't want to discuss it. He really made me feel loved and beautiful, regardless of my weight! Still miss him bunches!

It is the sad truth for those that have been bullied, the comments always stay with you no matter how long has passed, how old you are. It can be really debilitating for us and others just don't always understand. I speak from personal experience and my heart broke for Ruth, but I'm so proud of how far she's come♥️

I loved it when she said she didn't want to take the dress off. I had a funny little image of her going to work in the dress, going grocery shopping in the dress, paying bills in the dress, just going about her normal life in this floofy fabulous dress with a lovely veil in her hair. "La de dah, just me in my wedding dress!"

I'm struggling with eating right now. I understand what she feels like. I feel like I don't have control over things in my life and now have no appetite. I have to force myself to eat, its a daily struggle. Ive lost a lot of weight and my bones are protruding. My husband said I should get some counseling. I know he's right but I really just don't care anymore. So many heartbreaking things happening to people I love. I wish this bride all the best.

Same here. I couldn't go anywhere else these 2 are amazing.
They no longer have the shop. They've moved on to other enterprises, and Al had gastric bypass surgery, losing a huge amount of weight in the process. She's down to a "normal," slender size now, and I believe the series was ended prior to that. All of these that we see are rather old shows.
