250gms Red Chillies for 250gms tamarind. Is it correct proportion? Became very spicy. Now is there any way to reduce the spiciness by adding some thing?
@@AyyangarKitchen Yesterday night itself added 4 tsp of salt after your suggestion & mixed properly. Today I found 75% reduced spiciness. Now I added little bit of Jaggery. Thank you for the crisis management advice. Hope fully i can cross Carono period with this Pulikaichal.
This kadai is my grandma's. We can get it in few temple streets like Srirangam. In Bangalore it is available in City Market. Costs around Rs.1000 depending on it weight.

I agree. one spoon of oil 120 calories, any oil for that matter. People say, Sesame oil(Gingely oil) is good for health. Yes, It is good for health if it is used with limit. Another factor: Gingely oil is not made for cooking, it cannot accept high temperature.
Raghav Raj gingely oil, ground nut oil, coconut oil are being recommended for cooking again by doctors. Apparently these are much healthier. our bodies are genetically engineered based on what our forefathers ate. So traditional methods of cooking are best for us :-) we can enjoy gingely oil puliodharai without any guilt! its really tasty and healthy!

Lime rice is better always as it takes less oil than tamarind rice ,I don't like this oily recipe, sorry not only oil it needs twice the amount of salt to balance the sourness of the tamarind, this is my take on this whether you like it or not who cares. I like all your other healthier recipes. Learn to take criticism too.

That much oil is needed since it is going to be stored for few days. We have used Gingely oil only.
