Haha, don dokken is quite a personality..love his width, intelligence, and his sense of humor. And his latest album got everything you miss from the dokken 80's , he (tooth &) nailed it 🎸🎙️😎
Don talking about people watching for a minute and moving on, there is a growing group of people (of all ages really) that gravitate toward longer form content. Podcasts helped create this and this trend it gives me hope. I don't believe it will ever be the dominant format but all you need is enough interest.
There are a ton of really timeless songs in there that Don is without a doubt the MVP on the writing and everything else. A lead vocalist is the absolute most critical member of any rock band. Don made the connections, got the deals, wrote all the best songs and paid everyone equal shares. George was a chhildish, intollerable diva. We are blessed with the results of that formula! George was like a child with superpowers, that's what you get. The band absolutely needed a strong axe man. Who knows what would have happend if they didn't force it to work. It's all history. I got a tear in my eye hearing Don talk again about the age range and talented up-and-comers.
I feel bad for Don. But there are always risks with surgery and a chance that it won't be successful. I'm sure Don did some research and looked around for a reputable surgeon/team. If not, then that's unfortunate. Sometimes you don't get the results you hoped for. Doesn't necessarily mean the doctors fucked up. Everyone's body is different. It definitely sucks for Don. Hopefully his hand gets better over time and with physical therapy
God bless Don...the vocals he laid down on those albums were truly amazing ! He can do studio albums and he will sound good given his limitations, but as far as live performances go, he should retire. Dokken stood above Ratt, crue and many others back then.

I would consider him an old school libertarian like Richard Dreyfus. Someone who has common sense and understands that our country has an immigration crisis and that Hamas is a terrorist group. He also isn’t a fan of trump though and honestly, it’s ok to not want either of these old grumpy 80 year olds in office.
I want to keep listening, but this detour into the current conflict has me wincing so hard I might burst a blood vessel. 😅 It's like me and my stoner friends discussing proper tampon application.

Don still just copying Mötley just like in the 80’s. That dude is so jealous and full of himself. The guy was the worst front man ever. Even in the 80’s he wouldn’t work the stage or crowd. He stood in one place and was boring. That’s a big reason they never got to headlining status
