i think the reason these teachings resonate so well with me is because i am a christian and stoicism is one of the few places I go where the things taught align with the things i believe. I truly think that stoicism is a higher way of living, especially when paired with christianity.

I was so excited to see this video because as a lifelong Christian but latecomer to Stoicism who is now using both paradigms, I naturally started comparing and contrasting these two organized systems of ethical thought and ways for living. I will watch it multiple times. It is fascinating historically and deeply meaningfully spiritually for me. Thank you for making your videos.

Stoicism - makes sense - you should control your emotions, which is similar to Christianity, but stoic people are calm on no good grounds, why be calm when you believe you live in a godless life? Is it because of the belief in yourself that calms you? That seems like idolatry in the Christian view, although there are similarities, the difference is too huge to ignore.

I believe some aspects of stoicism are great and can be applied to everyday life in some ways ,however it seems stoicism encourages one to be put more emphasis on trusting of themselves instead of the all powerful yahweh and his son yeshua .. i believe that stoicism for a christian is good only up to a certain point before it becomes idolatry of one self and becoming only a believer of yourself . I have mixed feelings on how stoicism can work on a christian since many christians already seem to exhibit some stoic values without knowing the stoic works .. but i don’t think its foolish to study the stoic concepts be careful how you go about it though ..

One, Marcus Aurelius did not persecute early Christians, to our knowledge.
Second, I consider him to be the most noble of all pagans, for he was no less than calm in temperament, controlled in thought and action, virtuous in behaviour, and considerate and tactful in planning.
His father in law, Antoninus, was a peaceful man, his son, clinically insane,
And don't we commend his marriage?
If only I could have a marriage like Marcus Aurelius and Faustina.
She was beautiful, loyal, sweet, kind..
As long as I live, may I personally strive for 3 things: glorifying God Yahweh by thought and action, living a life of humility and kindness to my fellow man, and givin my wife the best of me
Idc how long i have to search for her on this earth.. she is worth more than gold bars and the best jade.. she's 1 in a million holmes.. idc I'm not stopping this sh I will never give up. Death will take me before that happens.
