    Wasn't thrilled with the 1 hour enamel coverage in antique villa. I primed but I'm on the fourth coat of paint. Will need at least touch up after this. The finish is outstanding though.

      I wish paint companies would state with lighter colors you will need multiple coats. More than darker colors. I find with all shades of white I need anywhere to 3-5 coats. Depends on the paint. I did find this enamel paint to have outstanding durability. The finish is top notch.

    Love the color! Thanks for the tip on the priming. What did you use for the gold?

      Sandi Martin It’s my absolute favorite color in the Wise Owl enamel paint line. I used gold guilding wax for the gold. I have another TH-cam video explaining how I applied it.

    Hi ;) I’m a newbie and i’m glad I found your videos. For my first try, should I try the one hour or the other for an armoire? Overwhelmed on what to order to start. I need something that can be cleaned regularly with a smooth finish.

      Leen Gjoni I’m so glad you found me...Welcome! Okay so the main differences in the one hour enamel vs. chalk paint is the overall look and feel. The one Hour Enamel has a more satin/glossy look to it. The chalk paint has a more flat/matte look. The One Hour Enamel is best suited for high traffic pieces or a piece of furniture you want to easily paint (remember no topcoat is needed). Chalk paint is fun to work with if you want to blend colors or distress your piece. With chalk paint you will need a Topcoat after applying it. My advice to you if this is your first piece of furniture that you’ll be painting. Get the one Hour Enamel in a quart size and most definitely buy a Cling On Brush. That brush makes a world of difference. Also always thoroughly clean your piece of furniture beforehand. If you have further questions please ask. I’m happy to help!

    Thank you so much for the great information! Do you sell Wise Owl and the brushes? I’m going to follow your recommendations and get the one hour and brushes.

    The site does not give a color chart for the one hour enamel. It’s only provided for the chalk paints.

    Do you prefer this paint or chalk paint? I ordered some of this paint but im really down about it. Not sure if this is what I want. I love chalk paint and am very good with it, im worried this will not come out good!

      This one hour enamel paint is perfect for kitchen cabinets because of its durability. It’s also great if you desire a one color clean sleek look. It does not blend like chalk paint nor distress well. It definitely has its purpose for certain projects.

      @@madelinejeanantiquesrestor9074 I got you, I think. So painting solid colors with this paint is awesome? And trying to get multiple color blends and stuff is better to use chalk paint.

    Why did you have to prime it?

    • @madelinejeanantiquesrestor9074
      @madelinejeanantiquesrestor9074  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I did on this particular piece because this was the first time using this paint. Since this video was uploaded I’ve painted with this paint a few more times and I’ve been okay with not priming. Please note these were medium to dark shades I painted. If you’re going to paint with a light shade, I would still advise priming before hand.

    How is the finish, in regards to brush strokes?

      Kyla P I had no issues with brush strokes. I did use a Cling On brush. The finish was gorgeous! I really love this paint!

    Bang out 3 dressers? Your dresser is mostly wood, hardly used any paint

    • @madelinejeanantiquesrestor9074
      @madelinejeanantiquesrestor9074  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes three dressers. I used 1/3 of the quart of paint. Right there indicates I used plenty of paint. Three coats. I mentioned next time I would prime twice (I only did once in this video) and then only have to paint two coats. You can easily get three dressers out of a quart of paint.
