So an example, correct me if I'm wrong would be.. 1. Chest press 2. Leg press 3. Shoulder press 4. Tricep Extension 5. Dumb bell Curl 6. Back Lateral Pull down. No rest, and he would repeat that 6 times, 6 times a week correct?
Carl could do this, 6 days a week, 36 sets a day, and not gain 50 lbs of muscle because he was on a vegetarian diet. He wasn't taking in 150-200g of protein every day. So he just leaned out. If he ate like a bodybuilder, he'd be 270 lbs. He'd be Arnold. That's what he's talking about. He used this workout/diet every day to stay lean, not for muscle mass.
I’m sure someone knows this on this string but just in case…Carl Weathers was an NFL player not just a no name actor. His physique was always well above average. You can see some of his NFL photos if you look. Great video though. Thanks!
This is very good info, Vince definitely knew what has was going, didn’t know Carl Weathers was lacto vegan, very informative, keep making these videos brother👍🏿
I'm a big Rocky fan! I was happy to see Carl Weather in The Mandalorian. The Rocky v. Creed fight is great but I lean toward Bruce Lee v Chuck Norris fight in Return of the Dragon.
As Carl stated in an article in 1977: “It’s a great system for building hard muscle”. I pick out six to seven exercises that will work the whole body. I perform sets but not in the usual way. That is, I start with maybe a chest movement, go on to a leg movement, then something for the shoulders until I have done one set of every movement in my program, without pausing, as is the case in the usual fashion. When I have done the six or seven exercises, I take a short rest and repeat the cycle. I do this six times, sometimes more. The idea here is to work as fast as possible. I get a great muscle pump and it’s good for my cardiovascular too. I like to grind out the reps”.
Those first Four Rocky Movies, had the best Actors to do the job! Each one plays their role perfectly, from Stallone's original script. Rocky IV, and Rocky Balboa are a fitting end to the Rocky legacy.
0:25 Da fuq is up with his chest? That's some bad Photoshop, it's like he's duplicated part of his pectoralis major as it comes out of his lats. Or maybe this was a centre page spread that someone didn't do a good job of putting back together correctly.
@@GoldenEraBookworm I can't seem to find any information about Pierre Van Den Steen (Vandensteen?) I'm sure you have seen the photos of him, especially in the 1975 Muscle Builder magazine. Carl Weathers kept Rocky 3 from becoming a trainwreck. Also the training montage in Rocky 3 is the best in all of the Rocky franchise. To be fair Carl Weathers was a PRO ATHLETE & NFL and Canadian football player....BEFORE ROCKY. So he already had a great physique. It wasn't like he was some actor pudgy doey actor that sat on the couch till he got the role of Apollo CREED.
Ken Norton was a great boxer, but he lacked charisma onscreen in his acting career. Carl Weathers trained to move like a boxer and he already had a fantastic physique from years as a football player, training with Vince and he had onscreen charisma. Way before Rocky Carl weathers was a college football player for dan Diego state and pro football player for the raiders as a safety.
When Apollo was training Rocky in Rocky 3 he had the body of a God. Such a fan of this legendary actor, writer, producer, director, and person.
So an example, correct me if I'm wrong would be..
1. Chest press
2. Leg press
3. Shoulder press
4. Tricep Extension
5. Dumb bell Curl
6. Back Lateral Pull down.
No rest, and he would repeat that 6 times, 6 times a week correct?
I wanted to build a body just like carls back in the day - astounding genetics
What an informative video. Thanks for uploading it.🙏
Carl could do this, 6 days a week, 36 sets a day, and not gain 50 lbs of muscle because he was on a vegetarian diet.
Thanks!
I swear even Carl Weathers' mustache could deadlift more than me...
This is very good info, Vince definitely knew what has was going, didn’t know Carl Weathers was lacto vegan, very informative, keep making these videos brother👍🏿
Will do
I'm a big Rocky fan! I was happy to see Carl Weather in The Mandalorian. The Rocky v. Creed fight is great but I lean toward Bruce Lee v Chuck Norris fight in Return of the Dragon.
Have to agree, although I think they were referring to greatest boxing fight in history
Way of the dragon
As Carl stated in an article in 1977:
“It’s a great system for building hard muscle”.
Outstanding work!!!
Great video thanks for your time 🥊
Appreaciate the content..thanks mate
love ur channel, got to learn some amazing stuff. Can u please make videos about how to develop aesthetics like classic bodybuilders.
I've done tons of videos on that, still, more to come
@@GoldenEraBookworm great, I will check them out.
Carl Weathers would have kicked butt in bodybuilding, in my opinion😮🎉
Awesome video bro!!!
Thank you
GREAT CONTENT ‼️
Those first Four Rocky Movies, had the best Actors to do the job!
Each one plays their role perfectly, from Stallone's original script.
Rocky IV, and Rocky Balboa are a fitting end to the Rocky legacy.
Looking better than most bodybuilders
Wait a minute. Wasn't Carl a NFL player before Rocky? Wasn't he already a world-class athlete?
Good 1 GEB , i didnt know this , heres one for you .. Gerrie Coetzee world heavy weight champ 1984 just died , he defeated Dokes and Spinks
Still waiting for a reboot of action jackson with mjw and carl weathers
Guy had and incredible body ripped and strong looking serious athlete no doubt no doubt
Thank you for the excellent review.
You are most welcome
0:25 Da fuq is up with his chest? That's some bad Photoshop, it's like he's duplicated part of his pectoralis major as it comes out of his lats. Or maybe this was a centre page spread that someone didn't do a good job of putting back together correctly.
You should get Carl on the channel
That would be something
@@GoldenEraBookworm please that would be awesome
It's 😁😄scary how fast and power💪⚡ full it works👍👍👍👍....
Dillon : 'Cos some damn fool accused you of being the best!
Wrong movie lmaooo
This was a fantastic video!
Thank you
@@GoldenEraBookworm I can't seem to find any information about Pierre Van Den Steen (Vandensteen?) I'm sure you have seen the photos of him, especially in the 1975 Muscle Builder magazine. He has abs and conditioning in that photo that I think is as good as any. I've read that he did huge amounts of volume. But, would love to no details about his training, PLUS his diet. His body fat percentage for that era is astounding? I will try to find info (there may be some in French or Dutch), but if you could do a video on him, you would probably have the only info in English about him. Thanks.
@@scottwilliam3015 I have heaps on him, even his earliest photos of his initial comps in Belgium...I will eventually cover him on the channel
@@GoldenEraBookworm Oh wow!! You are a legend! Can't wait. I just saw a video of him doing squats (smith machine) at 85! You
@@scottwilliam3015 Thanks man, link please!!
great video, can you do one about how to look like 1996 shawn michaels
He had great genetics too
He did
I saw this dude in Vince's Gym in around 1975
Awesome vid/channel - love your work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ole VG was an evil genius!
Lol
so where is the plan and diet......????ahhh yes buy the book....
So people forget this guy played D1 football, played in the NFL(Oakland raiders) and the CFL(B.C. Lions). His football career ended because of injuries
Very much underrated physique, who would not be happy with that.
Great upload 💪
Great content like always! Please do a follow up with Carl Weathers in Predator. And all the actors from that film!
I'll try and find that info
Here's some information you don't know Golden era bookworm which you should know the first Rocky was not put in movie theaters! It was on ABC channel 4 when I was a little kid and I was 9 years old! Then the second movie Rocky 2 I never got to see till much later in life it was in the movie theater!
Great video, thanks.
You're welcome
Carl Weathers kept Rocky 3 from becoming a trainwreck. Also the training montage in Rocky 3 is the best in all of the Rocky franchise. Rocky training in the ghetto gym that Apollo started in interspersed with shots of them running sprints on the beach can raise one's testosterone just from viewing it!
The 2 of them on the beach was man bonding! Anyone else try doing that they would really look Gay!
@@robd1329 it’s hard to look gay when doing sprint drills. I haven’t done it in a while but sprints have never felt homoerotic to me!
@@stevegrady5134 im talking about their really short shirts and then later huggn eachother. Lol
@@robd1329 I see. You’re right those cut-off t shirts and tight shorts were pretty bad. I guess it was the ‘80’s though. Everybody wore some cringe clothes back then.
Rocky IV had the best workout regimen hands down....
Carl weathers in my opinion has the best shoulders I’ve seen on anyone
the only main thing i was really concern about, was his diet ..cause without a good diet ..none of those exercise would matter
Great video
Trying to find information on Bob geider as I haven't heard of him. Just curious why he isn't named as one of the mr universe winners as stated in the video. Also can't find any info on his training approach used by weather's under Vince. Where can I find info on this guy please?
Bob Gajda must be correct name? English auto subtitles write wrong
BOB GAJDA. I've covered a bit on him before
Look for PHA training--peripheral hear action..interesting ready and theory if you can find. I would think that it would be an interesting workout for us who still have limited gym access. Set up your circuit in the garage and get after it!
Ken Norton would have been forgettable, Carl Weathers is iconic.
Nice so Giant sets full body style. Vince was way ahead of his time and would have made a ton of money training today's movie stars
Truth
Appolo cread was just incredible
Does anyone know if Stallone ever met Vince Gironda or trained at his gym? I was told that early in his career, under his given name of Charles Buchinski, Charles Bronson once trained there.
We got robbed of Apollo Creed vs Clubber Lang. That's the fight of the century.
Love those deltoids on CW. What a legend!
I love your channel
Awesome life story.
