  • A friend asked if I set my wheel size in my speed sensor and I remember I did not and I just use the Auto Mode 😂
I’m not sure how much will this affect the data on my Bike Comp, hopefully it gets faster? 🤣
Anyway here’s a quick guide on setting the correct wheel size to your speed sensor.
Does it really affect much, I’m not sure but I’ll keep you posted!

The auto is based on GPS accuracy, and auto adjusts itself over time. I've never seen mine to overestimate, and it does get closer to the size. Oh, BTW, the 2136 size is just a guideline/suggestion, tires of different brands (or even the same brand) will have some differences in diameter. You need to measure properly if you want to be exact, and then, tire presssure also changes the diameter as well 😅

If you ask me what I set it as, at the moment, 2136 😂

@Melvpedals it's up to you. I like the idea of a static size, because a bad GPS day will not make you feel slower (actually in your case, static size makes you "slower" in numbers). Here's what cateye instructions look like:
Tire circumference may change depending not only on tire size, but also on tire type, air pressure, the weight of the rider, and other factors.
To facilitate initial setup, the above "Tire circumference reference table" is contained in the instruction manual. However, if you would like more accurate measurement you will have to measure manually.
That just means it's also not accurate if you forgot to pump your tires before going out 🤪
Anyway, what you can do, is, on a stretch where there are no trees, set the GPS to max accuracy (multiband), switch to automatic (must be from a static value), and cycle for 1km, I believe the resulting calculated value will be the closest you can get as your circumference at the current time.
