    This type of video content is great! Instead of enticing us to buy new equipment, it shows us how to get the most out of what we currently have (assuming you are already a Garmin user in this case). There are also so many things that cyclists can do to improve their riding experience which aren't covered nearly as often in cycling videos, such as bike fit (easier said than done!), how to ride smoothly/safely on a group ride, how to ride more efficiently (pacing, position), etc. I learned a couple of useful things from this video. Hopefully we'll see similar videos in the near future.

      It is enticing those who don't have a Garmin to buy one because of these features. It's in association with Garmin and Garmin are mentioned twice in the title. It wasn't what he thought but new features that have been added that Garmin wanted discussed. Why not be honest about it. Still a good video and they are good features.

    If you don't want to get all the Social media notifications you can disable each app separately in garmin connect app on the phone. Settings -> Notifications -> App Notifications. You can choose there which apps you want or don't want to get notifications from.

      Nothing is hidden, you're just supposed to read the fabulous manual like in the dark ages before smart phones. Buying such expensive device and not taking the time to familiarize yourself with the manual and UI is a waste of money. Yes, the UI is a mess, although it does its job.

    My favourite feature by far is a WI-FI. My rides are being uploaded to Strava automatically, without my interaction, without a phone, all by unit alone. I just have to bring my bike in my house, which I always do. Come back home and go see your Strava stats - perfect for me.

    • @Catcrumbs
      @Catcrumbs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don't understand what the advantage of this is. Uploads over BT have always happened automatically for me on my 510. Even if you don't take your phone with you on your ride (I always do), your phone will be with you - or at least close at hand - once you're at home, so the potential advantage of WiFi is marginal at best.

    Bought Garmin Edge Explorer 2 last week. Now I wonder if it’s possible to start my daily ride so that I first ride paths that are familiar to me let’s say for 20 kilometres. After that I need to start navigation for 30 kilometres paths that are new to me and after that stop navigating and return back home. Must I save every separate ride or can I combine those to a one single ride ?

    The most important thing for me is a good navigation (turn-by-turn) directions.. The only problem is my visual impairment prevents me from seeing up close. So my dream Garmin edge would have these things, a larger (3.5") screen for visibility, and because the Edges have Bluetooth capability, the coders at the design team could add Bluetooth speaker pairing for Audible Turn-by-Turn navigation.. This would be a good safety feature because you won't have to take your eyes off the road at turns.. (other Garmin have this tech so why not the EDGE..?).. Most casual cyclist don't need or want the 1000 pieces of fitness/training information . We just want to get from point A to point B.. That means we need to see/hear the turn by turn directions. How about enlarging the EdgeExplore 2 to a 3.5" screen for visibility. and add the bluetooth speaker capability for Audible directions..? Easy Peasy this would make a very functional Garmin Edge for the majority of riders..

    • @HKRoad

      Wouldn't it be great if Garmin was able to change the focus of the screen based on your eye prescription. So making it plus or mins etc. That would help us older mamils.

    I think the Group Track feature is an awesome feature because it would mean that groups no longer have to stay in a pack. Unfortunately most of the members in the groups are to cheap to own Garmins. Just think about it, no more waiting for the last slow person to catch up. In think Garmin cycling computers should be standard equipment on every new bike sold. They definitely offer features that everyone can use now.

    Very interesting content, great job! I'm searching for a particular screen on my edge 520Plus. I'd like to have the profile of my circuit during i'm riding and my current position on it. That would allow me to know how many climbs I have left or the lenght of a descent or a valley before a climb. This graphic would be really helpfull when you don't know the roads where you are. (thanks from France ;-)

    Hi . Do know why bike computers doesn't have inreach capability?

    • @BikesBlades
      @BikesBlades 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can connect an InReach device to most Edge computers. The satellite location and communication function is not included in the Edge devices as a built-in feature because of (a) cost, (b) form-factor reasons, and (c) InReach is a subscription service that not all cyclists are willing to pay for.

    My Garmin Edge 130 Plus reports a VO2 Max estimate. Is that reasonably accurate? It says 52 for me which seems very high for my age (59). I'm fit but I didn't think I was that fit.

    • @jasonstevenson110
      @jasonstevenson110 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are honest with your true weight, then the VO2 max should be within a few percent. The unit measures your power for your weight. An algorithm calculates the amount on oxygen you need to process to generate that power. Relative Vo2 max is mL/kg/min.

    But what i would really like from Garmin is , to be able to manually upload one specific ride to any of the connected 3rd party apps .
    I sometimes forget to enable the automatic upload and then I have to get the file with a usb connection go to strava for example and manually create a ride and upload the file .
    So annoying! Wahoo is much more easier on this. Maybe i should have gone on wahoo !

    I’m enjoying the bike so far th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.
