I have a long term 2011 MKX with 87k miles, bought new in 2012. The normally aspirated 3.7L V6 engine runs great and exterior still better looking than everything in its current class. Interior has held up and still looks modern and stylish. Found one without a sunroof to avoid rattles and water leaks. Long term had to replace the liftgate struts twice (easy to do it yourself), replaced a seized rear brake caliper, adjusted stretched parking brake cable, multiple infotainment software updates now much more responsive, replaced SD Nav card and USB port, one battery replacement, and somewhat fast-wearing Pirelli tires. Everything easily fixable by the dealer and a fantastic daily driver. So far no problems with the internal chain driven water pump (fingers crossed). They say the first sign is a coolant weep puddle under the engine. Heard that replacing the water pump is expensive for labor/man hours.
We have a 2011 MKX Elite Limited AWD with the adaptive headlights, THX audio and basically everything except the adaptive cruise. It just turned 200,000 miles and the only thing that has failed on it was a front left TPMS sensor and the stupid SYNC2 system. The APIM failed, and as a result, we have no touchscreen, audio or full climate controls. We can adjust temp, fan speed, turn AC on and off and defrosters on and off, but panel distribution is within the touchscreen, as are the front heated/ventilated seat controls. A little annoying, but it’s still a very nice vehicle, even in 2024.
Let me just tell you owning an MKX is the best decision you can ever make I have no regrets, ambient lighting, awd, amazing sound on the top of the line models with the THX sound system, and it's even off road capable it's not jeep level but it'll get u over some hills and some rough terrain in style and grace the v6 can sound beefy at times but if that's not your thing if you keep it under 80 mph it sounds quite nice anything over and u sound like a gas guzzling f150
I leased my wife a fully loaded 2012 MKX. We love it so much that I am buying it for her when her lease is up in June. We couldn't be happier with this Lincoln :)
redrideriii I literally came to the comments section to say those exact words. best descision ever. saved my life when I wasn't wearing a seat belt and still miss it to this day. It was my first car and looked just like the one in the video except with a beige interior. loved it so much I have only ever owned (5) lincoln and bought another mkx right after my first. Best car ever, NO problems, BEAUTIFUL.
I got a fully loaded I've hit 110 in it it's fast I've raced some people in it looking at modding it I would prefer it being blacked out looking at getting it tinted next summer
I wanna turbo mine love my 2011 mkx fully loaded with 20s only sucky part is 20s are expensive to replace rims. Got at 123k has 161k in almost 3yrs love it only did plugs tires and rear shocks
I love cadillac and lincoln, my friends say those are granpa's car, but i don't care, Do you think a 2011-2012 MKX would be a good decision? I'm planning on getting one
Ibrahim Lincolin I daily a 2011 mkx and let me say I love it. Comfortable interior, great power for what it is, and personally I love the design compared to most SUV’s on the road.
I just bought one used. Have the transfer case checked out first and the water cooler inspected. If you’re good on those two things, you have a hell of a ride!
@coolgames14 watch STI review motorweek 2011 (new video) 3:15 and there you will learn what I mean 0-60 6.2 sec. 1/4 mile 14.5 sec. So like i said it's almost as fast on a straight line as the STI!!! thanks
I dont care for any new cars, foreign or domestic. Even my favorite pickups are irritating to look at with big, gaudy square wheel wells, way too exaggerated giant square grills and giant skinny tires on spoked wheels.
still driving my 2011 Lincoln MKX in 2021 and still loving it.
Did you have to do the water pump??
Just bought a fully loaded 2013 mkx love it literally so comfy and quite ride i wonder why old people love Lincoln MKX lol
@@racingvenny1151everyone does or better do!
It is less then 300 dollars in parts if you can do it yourself!

That's unexpectedly quick for a Lincoln.
That 3.7 is no joke

The rear of this car is very sexy looking!
Beautiful and cool this Lincoln

yes go for it I'm getting a Lincoln mks 2010-2012
Vale Mt I'm debating between getting the pre-refresh & post-refresh version of the MKX
I love mine. It's no sports car but it handles well and does 0-60 in around 6.5 seconds.
@@NileshR12 Definitely go post. 2011-2012 is good (the ones with THX sound system)
I’m on the net every week looking for a 2011 and , everything I see and read says that it okay, besides I’m a Ford guy:)
Awesome car and my parents just got the 2018.
Idk why i'm watching this in 2020 XD
I'm over here watching this in 2021 since I'm considering this car lol
Watch out for those internal warer pumps on the 3.7. Once they fail they leak internally and usually ruin the engine. Dumb design
So is it better than the Cadillac srx?
Abdulla Alsada Yes. 100%. I owned several becuase they are awesome
Do you advice me guys to get the 2011 mkx as I love this car the most . Is it practical?
Ibrahim Lincolin I daily a 2011 mkx and let me say I love it. Comfortable interior, great power for what it is, and personally I love the design compared to most SUV’s on the road.
Not to mention all the features such as remote start, great stereo, fairly easy to use infotainment,
I just bought one used. Have the transfer case checked out first and the water cooler inspected. If you’re good on those two things, you have a hell of a ride!
I also acquire a Lincoln mkx an its awsome an I want the 2014 with turbo charge hp novelties with it
Trying to buy one
Did you buy one? I just did buy one 2013 love it!
how the hell did you get it to 6.3 ??? tell mee i have an mkx lol
Man, if only the mkx came with the eco boost 😎
That's almos as fast as the WRX STI lol nice

WTH is the smoke emanating from the brakes?
it's the tires skidding on the road.
@coolgames14 you Obviously didn't see the review from motorweek, watch it and then tell me I'm wrong...

i like the last generation mkx better

The shape of the dash is gross. Looks like a car from 1997
