  • This is an update to the Euphree Stellar Falcon review. Please watch. This is the reason why the bike did not go over the hill as fast as I initially thought it might have. One more update: the throttle will go to any speed regardless of the PAS level chosen on the bikes.

    It’s not that the cicadas eat the tree, it’s that they inject their eggs into small branches. That branch segment then dies and falls to the ground, larva hatch from the sticks and go into the ground to drink sap from tree roots for 17 or 13 years. The trees will look like a sort of mini autumn a month or two after the cicadas are gone with dead leaf patches as those branch ends die and fall away. Good update on the bike.

      @@RussIsRight yeah, it’s an interesting experience. If you get it as heavy as they are saying, I doubt you are going to be riding your bike for a week or two. We had them here in 2021 and you couldn’t go 50 feet without them hitting your car when you drove when they were at their most active flying around.

    Quite a lot of options in the control panel which I saw in the previous Euphree video. Decent hill climb speed here. I have more than a few hills here. I used AllTrails to measure the climb of one of them. 112 feet at an 8% grade at what might amount to a good city block. That was tough on a manual bike. I've just wanted to get up our "Geological Bench" hills with more ease. Speed is unimportant to me until I appreciate the extra boost from a throttle from a dead stop at an intersection. Many streets are arched so that rain goes into storm drains. Nearly all our bridges have a slight arch to them to aid in construction stability.

    Great review. I wanted the Robin X+ but now it's the Stellar Falcon. Riding a basic Rad Mission now. Took a fall last year and received a concussion. Not the bikes fault, my fault. Broke my helmet in 4 places. Hey, I'm in Real Estate and the homes you pass along your way interest me. What town are you riding in?

    Thanks for the corrections and additional information about the display. I really like being able to adjust the power levels to suit my preferences.
    When running in cadence sensor mode, do the levels set a fixed amount of power or do they set speed targets and the bike surges up to them?
    This is a really nice bike. It’s just the weight that bothers me, though it’s mid pack for similar models. The Ride1Up LMT’d I have is 15-20lbs lighter, though it has fewer features. Still, worth considering.

    Great review! Just got mine delivered last week. However, somehow during delivery, they bent the rear derailleur and the guard. Also for everyone that purchases this ebike, make sure that you watch Euphree's assembly video on their site. You will also get a instruction guide with the Ebike. It unfortunately leaves out a couple important steps to be aware of when unpacking the bike. Due to my age and six(6) Ebikes purchased previously, I felt confident in assembling the Ebike. NOT! So I'm awaiting new replacement parts from Euphree. Still haven't ridden the ebike ):

    Any idea how hard the Stellar Falcon is to carry up stairs? I am wondering if the mid-step version offers more hand hold places to lift it up two flights of stairs?

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The bike is 72 lbs. I think many e-bikes this size would be very difficult to carry up two flights of stairs. The mid-step’s top tube offers a place to hold better than the step-thru, but it is still just as heavy.

    @ForbinColossus 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hey Russ, I have a an idea for a test procedure, i.e., how realistic or difficult is it to carry the ebike up a flight or two of stairs? Some of us city folks live in apartments or live in houses with no parking garages and have to contend with stairs. Just a suggestion. I have a friend who eagerly purchased an ebike then found it too massive to pick up for her 5'5" frame...

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'd say it is really difficult to carry up even several steps! I know I struggle with it when I have to lift the bikes. Not only are the bikes heavy, but they aren't cooperating with you either. The front fork and wheel always wants to turn in the direction that you don't want it to and the pedals get in your way. Yeah, it's very hard to do.

    • @chow-chihuang4903
      @chow-chihuang4903 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There aren’t separate sensors. It’s only a torque sensor. The software in the display lets you tell the bike how to use the output from the torque sensor. It’s the difference between asking “what’s the signal strength from the sensor?” and “is there a signal from the sensor?”
      I hope more brands offer this capability. I like the control a torque sensor allows, but I would like to have the bike do the bulk of the work when I tweak my knee or am towing a heavy trailer.

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I won’t add more weight to the bike. I would need to do that for all bikes going forward. And if I gain or lose weight, I would need to readjust each time. All these tests do is to give an idea how the bike basically performs. Every bike will do differently for each person based on their own weights and riding styles.
