  • It's great to get a chance to go out for a hike and camp after what feels like months. Tim and I start the hike in Edale where we make our way up Jacobs Ladder and on to Kinder. Not knowing exactly where we are to camp for the night we make our way past the Woolpacks on to Edale Moor and find the perfect spot. We enjoy tasting 3 different whiskies before retiring for the night :-)

    Seeing more litter in the outdoors. I’m always bringing other peoples litter back down, and what’s with the tissue everywhere?! Idiots. Makes me angry. Its got worse in towns too. Morons everywhere now and no national campaigns exist like they did. I’m sure we had a better culture of not littering back in the day when we had keep Britain tidy! Bring it back I say.

    We going to bring Derbyshire own whisky Wire Works for the next camp. That be a good review

    Hi Bri, I've just watched this. I must have been out/missed the initial notification when you first published this (or I just simply forgot to watch it later), so apologies for the delay in my response.
    It was good to see you and Tim back on the Whiskey again.🙂 A shame about the rubbish lying around and respect to Tim for planning to head back up there and tidy it up.👍

      Hi Steve, thanks for your comment mate. I have been thinking that subscribers aren't getting notifications as the folks that normally comment, like you, don't seem to have said much on this one. Anyway, although initially very busy in the Edale area this turned out to be a very enjoyable camp, the pitch was first class on all fronts. Hoping to go out again at the end of October so stay tuned 🙂 Great to see how regularly you are getting out, I've also noticed that you are doing a lot more camps with other guys, do you prefer it to solo camping?

      @@Glossopwildcamp Hi Bri. I said to Tim over on my Facebook page, that the 3 of us should get together for a camp soon, so give us a shout if you want a lout along who can handle himself against a herd of marauding Badgers who demonstrate threatening intent.
      As for camping with others vs myself, the only downside for me when out with others, is that it reveals my general unfitness levels. 🙂

    Great vid, just subscribed and absolutely love the Peak District.
    Every time I go the litter gets worse from the muppets from turdsville who think it’s fine and probably laugh at the state they leave our wild places upon there unwelcomed visits. Scrotes!
    The video was excellent and love the little whiskey taster session in the evening, perfect!
    Beautiful place to camp 🏕️ keep up the good work 👍🏻

      Hello and thanks very much for the sub and your great comment 🙂 I have faith that for every scrote there is at least 2 decent people who will keep things tidy! I will return the sub mate 👍

    Another great video, what a bloody shame, when you are in all that rugged beauty to see waste left by muppets! By the way, the only time I heard and used the term Grockles, was when I was a kid living in Devon, for holiday makers lol

    • @Glossopwildcamp
      @Glossopwildcamp  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, tell me about it, it makes me so angry to see such beauty treated with such contempt. I got the term Grockles from the guy that taught me to dry stone wall, he was a proper Derbyshire man and used many other turns of phrase that I haven't heard anywhere else. He used the word 'Fartleberries' to describe sheep poo that was stuck in the wool around a sheeps backside 😆

    Your spot on about the types of people we're now seeing in the hills, I always come across abandoned tents, human shit out in the open, with no attempt to bury it, rubbish everywhere, it used to be rare, but now it's rare not to see rubbish littering the hillside, it boils my piss, and yes, it started during convid, because people couldn't fly to Ibiza for a piss up, they decided to spoil the great outdoors for everyone else. And before anyone accuses me of snobbery, I'm a working class ex squaddie from moss side, Manchester....but I was bought up correctly with manners and morals. Great video as always, when are we having that "awake" group camp? 😉

    • @Glossopwildcamp
      @Glossopwildcamp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment, I knew you would be in agreement about our vexations! In fact I said to Tim the exact same thing regarding the Ibiza crowd. I think the rising cost of everything is also adding to this problem, folks not able to afford to go abroad anymore plus the pubs are so expensive so why not trash your local countryside! I am up for the awake group camp, I would suggest keeping numbers down (not that there are many of us anyway!) to know more than 3 or 4 to maintain the sense of isolation.

    Fantastic vlog and so beautifully filmed. Totally agree about litter! There's a river not far from us that never used to have litter left on the banks, and now every time we go there's little piles of rubbish. Very confusing behaviour. Why??? Anyway, a tremendous video, great fun to watch and thank you!!

      Hi guys, thanks so much for watching and commenting, I appreciate you! As you will have heard in the video, Tim and I have our theories about the litter problem we have been seeing, lockdowns and financial struggles seem to be attracting a different demographic out into the hills. Thankfully there are a lot of us out there who care for our beautiful countryside.

    Excellent spot 😊 I’ve added it to my list thank you! Tents looked nice and tidy up there, my second love, The Helm ❤ ps it’s not controversial 😂 it’s normal wanting to escape people! Pps I found a frying pan and 2 L Evian bottle at one of my spots in Kinder made my wee boil! ATB, Sarah

      Thanks Sarah, this spot was indeed quite a find, we will definitely return at some point. Hope you find it too! Glad it's not just us who enjoy escape from society, in fact I'm sure that is what most wild campers are seeking. Great to see how much you are getting out there, I'm sure you must be feeling quite confident about it now.

      @@Glossopwildcamp yes I actively go out of my way to be away from people (I am very sociable btw 😂) but when I stumble upon a camper it’s different, just give them the knowing nod and respect their peace ✌️ my last camp didn’t work out unfortunately as I ended up bailing but I’ll be out again soon. Thank you for taking the time to film. Ps im Not a lover of whisky 🥃 I’d end up blotto on the hill and would sleep through my alarm ⏰ lol 😂 but I’m glad you both enjoyed tasting and drinking 😊
