He really does suck though. I wouldn't berate the guy for not bring good but ya if he tried to front that he's anything more than silver I'd have to call him out on his bullshit.
The funniest part about Connor picking Jax at the end of League week and Ludwig being upset that Connor should've started playing him earlier when Connor DID play Jax very early on and got destroyed and went "yeah no Jax ain't it" and Lud AGREED
I'm of the opinion that league is a genuinely good game. The issue is that it can make you incredibly passionate and the more passion you have, the more frustrating it is when things go bad. This is compounded exponentially when your team is also having a bad day.
Honestly true cause you can't have such a big player base and maintain it without being a good game, people like to shit on League and while some of it is true, it's still a pretty good game
It's because to not get tilted you have to let a piece of yourself go. Watching your teammates take the advantages you painstakingly gained and throwing them away is unbelievably tilting like very few other things, like a 60 hour work week dad watching their spoiled brat kids throw away pizza because it's been in the fridge for a day just to order a fresh one. It's also super packed of dopamine so the highs hit like a gambling addict's big payout, but at the same time those lows hit like a drunk dad after their football team loses. League is also just not a good game for many reasons like ranged tops, horrible power creep, and many other things, but there really isn't an alternative because all the competition sucks absolute balls. Oh you like mobas but hate League? Have a literal 2009 game that makes your eyes bleed or get the fk out of my sight.
Connor and Lud made me start playing league and this game is actually impossible to learn, I see why he's having such a hard time and also why the game makes people go feral.
If you have other games to play don't bother, i have played this for like 5 years and unless you have a raving adiction to competition you will hate this game.

The thing is, that's what everyone has been saying. Lud just thought he could spam games and speedrun plat through sheer brute force and talent, which clearly isn't working
A lot of it is just using your head and actually thinking about your decisions though while keeping areas warded. Macro play especially in lane is so huge that it can boost you several ranks if you just know small things and keep things in mind before trades.
the funniest thing is i'm pretty sure league actually peaked in japan this year lol it has finally become a game with an actual player base kickstarted from a 0 league experience streamers tournament thingy last january or so

I spent a whole year watching League Pro's before I even played for the first time, so I already knew what a lot of champs did but by god is there so much to learn. Its similar to picking up a fighting game for the first time and trying to block attacks and never knowing your own attack window because you get punished every time you try hit a button.
Ironically, you interact with people more as a jungle than any other role. You have to complete team objectives, and you need help for those and complete them safely otherwise you risk losing the dragon. You need to coordinate with the laner to make sure the gank is successful.
Connor saying that people didn't like splits is actually insane. That was one of the best changes they made to the game in a long ass time. Stuff like Arcane and Lud's league journey got me to try the game and the tutorial really doesn't teach you anything. I've genuinely never seen a game as unfriendly to new players as League. I kept feeling bad because I was clearly a liability to my teammates, but even on youtube guides don't really seem targeted towards new players. They either assume zero prior knowledge and cover the basics like destroying the nexus is the objective of a game, or they assume you know stuff already and you can't follow the jargon. I found myself just not knowing what I should be doing in games, and that's probably why I haven't continued to play.
The tutorial might be the worst I've ever seen. I'm like 200 games in at this point and there are still basic things I don't really know like what the different jungle buffs actually do, how to ward effectively, etc. Like they really just say, here's your champion just run it down mid and TDM the enemy, they tell you nothing about anything. Then you open to go to a bot game and immediately you have to select runes (literally never been told about them), they don't explain anything about the different roles, nothing about the jungle, nothing about last hitting, and then you open the shop and there's 50000 items. Even the launcher UI is impenetrable. You have to watch like 15 hours of youtube tutorials just to get the basics. I pushed through and am really enjoying it because I found a champion I like quickly but I can imagine half the potential playerbase quitting before they even get to the fun part of the game.
Lol it's not that hard. Just use the recommended runes and use recommended items to start. They aren't perfectly optimal but they won't lead you completely wrong. The idea of last hitting is not even remotely hard to learn. It's pretty clear that you get gold when you kill a minion and if you don't kill it, you don't get gold durr.

league is just not a game for ludwig imo. if he wants to keep trying then he should go for it of course, but if he's gonna continue having meltdowns every other game and berating his teammates condescendingly then he should do that shit off stream because it''s embarrassing icl
@plythbird Stop consuming only Connor/Trash taste content, bro. If you want or care why or how Ludwig plays watch him, because commenting about smn and smt you know nothing about is lowkey embarrassing icl.
@@syu_min i have watched him. he tilts and gets extremely toxic. frequently. his usual sarcastic comedy comes out as vile condescending beration as soon as something doesn't go his way. everybody gets mad sometimes but it genuinely seems unhealthy for him.
@plythbird Ngl I love sarcastic toxic people being funny (lol). But I agree this game is not healthy for him the way he's playing it right now but I get it because he wants to hit plat before the season ends. However he said after that he will play it more casually, for fun.
Agreed, until ludwig cares about only how to improve and stop caring about going up in elo, he’ll climb fast. The problem is ludwig is your average silver player thinking it’s always his teammates fault. He’ll probably peak silver 1.
League is capable of being fun. Just have to accept not being able to even have a chance at winning some games, and that part makes it so unfun a lot of the time.
league can be fun with friends? i dunno? it's one of those things that you can't stop playing for some reason but you deter others from going down the same path as you. I swear it's like a smoker's mentality for this game
Honestly the worst part of league is the players and the people that talk about league but never play it. Like how is LilyPichu the only person who plays league to have fun? Everyone says league is super toxic but I guarantee they are also part of the problem.
on paper, league is one of the best games ever with a wide variety of builds and characters allowing almost unlimited self expression. in practice its a shit hole buggy mess of a game with spaghetti code all the way down because riot is unwilling or even unable to recreate it in a newer more modern engine. they are constantly tweaking and twisting and turning some aspect every two weeks to maintain a perceived balance that quite frankly isn't possible because as i have said, near unlimited self expression with the builds. and then there is... the community. the community was cooked from day fucking one as riot was either unwilling or unable to properly moderate the big names such as tyler1. what that particular practice has lead to is outright hostility to anyone in every game no matter if they are on your team or the enemy team. in short this game started out great but hooooly shit i dare not touch it ever again as my brief 4 month stint into it shows that it isn't for me and it shouldn't be for anyone else
It's crazy how you could just replace "League" with "YuGiOh" and it would make total sense with this whole conversation lol. Doesn't get new players, if you care about every game you'll want to end yourself, there's so much going on that new players can't easily learn (you legitimately almost need to relearn English to understand the rulings between the cards 😂). Goddamn I love it, but it's *REAL* rough trying to get a new person into it 😅
Ive dabbled in quite a few competitive games over the years. Apex, League, Valorant, CSGO, r6, Overwatch. League as a game isnt the problem. Im willing to bet that most of the people who bash league have another game that gets them just as heated. Its people with a weak mental who take games far too seriously, league just happens to be their weakness. I think league is the Nickelback of Games. Personally i found that the most toxic game i played was r6
We talk like lud is bad, but like for real, he plays decently well for someone who started this season, most of the braindead shit he does is bcs of the knowledge gap, but hitting gold in his first season is very good, alot of players have been playing for years with the same rank or lower
Connor seemed to be a decent player at the beginning but by day 2 I realized that he may be on par with Lud. Connor is decent knowledge of certain things, like his Jax and Xerath were pretty good, but he made so many mistakes. Sure, Lud probably made more but Lud was doing alright by the end of the challenge. It seemed like Lud threw the first few days and Connor threw the last. Connor also blaming every loss on Lud instead of acknowledging his own mistakes showed that he didn’t realize he wasn’t playing as well as he thought he did
yup connor just blamed ludwig the entire time when he was playing like a gold player at best, while constantly talking about how he could "easily get plat right now on his own" and being diamond 30 years ago
Yeah, he didn't provide anything. Sure he played better than Lud but Connor was telling chat before League week started how he is good at League. Lud's never said he is good at it at least and he just improving slowly. Sit down, be humble kinda situation.
@@Fany0801 To be fair Connor prefaced that he was Diamond a looong time ago and hadn't played since. He spent some time getting to Gold IV to match with Lud before leaving Japan - so that was pretty much their level aside from the fact that Connor had a little bit more knowledge on the heroes. I don't think he bragged too much about it otherwise - they like to banter each other like friends do, which parasocials took way out of context. All the pros they had on were criticising Lud all week too, you all going to sit here and say they're wrong?
@@amazingpen7059 from you saying “heroes” you clearly don’t play the game (and that’s ok, good even), people were just saying that Connor is shifting all blame onto Ludwig every time he tells anyone about the 5 day stream and saying how bad Ludwig is when he played *slightly* better than Lud. No one was saying Ludwig wasn’t bad, but at least he knew he was bad lol, unlike Connor.
as a dabbler of both league and dota, what drives me to play both games were the mechanics and knowledge in both games and to be able to show that off against friends back in the day definitely gave me the reason to keep playing
@LTXhyn I guess what I never understood was how could people not get bored playing the same map every time. It's basically just two HQ's on opposite ends, three path lanes to conquer defense towers, some forests in between them, and whoever first destroys the opposing team's HQ wins. I think if the maps were more like a maze then it'd be more interesting.
@@professional.commentatorthe map is the last thing you’re thinking about. Even on the same map, there’s 150 potential champions on the map, all of them with 5-10+ unique abilities all building different items that change how champions play etc. The map has to be simple because there’s so much other information to take in.
Lol no you can't. Mechanics will certainly help but you need to have at least half decent map awareness/decision making for your mechanics to matter. You could have faker levels of micro but if you go bot lane as a jungler when Baron is the only objective up then your mechanics don't matter for shit
What connor says is why the game is so bad lol. Back when i played you would go back to like 75 LP when you lost your promos. Promos for every league, 5 tiers for a league so gold 1-5 not 1-4. There is no like pitty free win, every single time you hit promos its a 0-0 start GL GL. Now you can just spam endless games and as long as you maintain as relatively 50% w/l you WILL climb. So stupid.
league isn't that hard unless you play uungle, just read all the items and your own champion's abilities and you're already silver. learn to not walk too close to the enemy and you got gold.
Connor is actually wrong about Faker being face of league. He is not, He is the face of proplay and proplay only. For fun tournament of streamers RIVALED viewership of WORLDS(Milions and milions of dollars worth of costs). And team of Bausffs, Nemesis,Veila Reckless and some adc Are 10x-ing viewership of MINOR league if not even more.
Ludwig carres about the games more than Connor because he has a challenge to beat before the season ends and he wants to prove himself and others that he is good. If you watch PerryJG coaching him he actually explains a lot during their coaching sessions about the champions etc. And so Connor was it for content or real, it's kinda confusing?!
@@varnix1006yeah, watch his coaching sessions with Perry he said that he doesn't need to change the champ. Just watch the videos if you care, I don't want to paraphrase him here.

league is just not a game for ludwig imo. if he wants to keep trying then he should go for it of course, but if he's gonna continue having meltdowns every other game and berating his teammates condescendingly then he should do that shit off stream because it''s embarrassing icl
@@syu_min hope he does. it's a great game, but a very tilting one.
Agreed, until ludwig cares about only how to improve and stop caring about going up in elo, he’ll climb fast. The problem is ludwig is your average silver player thinking it’s always his teammates fault. He’ll probably peak silver 1.
League is capable of being fun. Just have to accept not being able to even have a chance at winning some games, and that part makes it so unfun a lot of the time.
tft mentioned im happy
league can be fun with friends? i dunno? it's one of those things that you can't stop playing for some reason but you deter others from going down the same path as you.
The Arasaka sweatshirt continues to be peak
It's crazy how you could just replace "League" with "YuGiOh" and it would make total sense with this whole conversation lol. Doesn't get new players, if you care about every game you'll want to end yourself, there's so much going on that new players can't easily learn (you legitimately almost need to relearn English to understand the rulings between the cards 😂).
Goddamn I love it, but it's *REAL* rough trying to get a new person into it 😅
So is Ludwig like the new Bare Minimum of skill in league?
Connor slipping in some lies in his league week recap. Loves to bring games Lud threw and none of the games HE singlehandedly threw
What is it with the MOBA game appeal though? I tried playing them and never understood it.
as a dabbler of both league and dota, what drives me to play both games were the mechanics and knowledge in both games and to be able to show that off against friends back in the day definitely gave me the reason to keep playing
@@professional.commentatorwhy is chess only played on 1 board?
Constant dopamine rush good
Connor’s shirt is fire…
Saying it's not a Skill or Mechanical Diff is insane and just flat out wrong lmao, Mechanics alone can get you to plat
Lol no you can't. Mechanics will certainly help but you need to have at least half decent map awareness/decision making for your mechanics to matter. You could have faker levels of micro but if you go bot lane as a jungler when Baron is the only objective up then your mechanics don't matter for shit
THE FIDDLER
What connor says is why the game is so bad lol. Back when i played you would go back to like 75 LP when you lost your promos. Promos for every league, 5 tiers for a league so gold 1-5 not 1-4. There is no like pitty free win, every single time you hit promos its a 0-0 start GL GL. Now you can just spam endless games and as long as you maintain as relatively 50% w/l you WILL climb. So stupid.
league isn't that hard unless you play uungle, just read all the items and your own champion's abilities and you're already silver.
learn to not walk too close to the enemy and you got gold.
league is still absolutely massive, on average it has 130 million active players per month
Stockholm Syndrome Pandemic. Been rampant for years. I was infected 6 years ago and still haven't fully recovered.
I'm really sorry for all those poor souls.
@@pedr3601 Some people play games for enjoyment and don't just watch streamers or online personality to parrot
No to League of Legends but Yes to 2XKO for me.
He cared about the game, but not learning more champions apparently.
Agree. They both threw a lot so both are bad at it? If so where this arrogance comes from buddy?
@@varnix1006yeah, watch his coaching sessions with Perry he said that he doesn't need to change the champ. Just watch the videos if you care, I don't want to paraphrase him here.

I wanna see Connor doing it again but with Dota.
Even worse
MONKE SHALL OVERCOME THE TURNING RADIUS ✊✊🐵🐵
There's always that one guy that has to bring up dota when league is mentioned
Tbf dota is harder to start than League unless you've played MOBAs before.
@@LeHarmacist im surprised league hasn't updated their tutorial yet tbh. Dota's new tutorials are buggy sometimes but they try. making an euw account and seeing how lack luster it is makes me feel for actual new players lmao.
The audacity of an Australian to call NA servers a joke
Crazy how Ludwig is bronze when playing with Connor, but gold without Connor

looks like you guys really DO have trash taste. Dota 2 is right there and you play the knockoff.
I feel like lud brought more people to league than arcane lol
This episode its like seeing a youthful and full healthy man getting into drugs 🥲 💊⚗️
