Great advice! I would add stop neglecting oiling and moisturizing! Even if you have polish on you need to oil moisturize.

Excellent tips! I also stopped going to salons even for a regular manicure. I can only use certain brands because many popular brands dry out my nails which causes breaking. My top brands are Olive & June, Orly, and ILNP.
Never tried none of these brands will have to get a color from each brand and try them.
@@tinadalasinski5282 ...Target carries Olive & June now. Like Amanda said, you don't need a base coat with O&J, but you do need to get their top coat in the silver bottle. Sally's stopped carrying Orly in my stores, but you can find some at Ulta. ILNP-never seen in stores, but Amazon does carry some colors , although not usually the most recent collection.
@@LorraineinPNW I will have to check Target site because I don’t have a store by me. Walmart Carrie’s Orly stuff I will have to see if they have anything color wise I like. I will definitely look for the top coat of olive and June.

Great advice! I ruined my nails getting dip done at the salon! It took my natural nails a couple months to get back to bring healthy. My nails are super thick & grow really fast. I've really been into giving myself gel manicures lately. I just got some cute nail stickers that make them look super fancy. I just got dish gloves bc I was having issues with the ends of my polish coming off and lifting the gel from the water is what I finally figured out...
Great tips!! I was guilty of 3 of the not to do...😣 but I stopped awhile ago.....so I'm being a good girl and my nails are lasting 3 weeks now with my gel yay

Absolutely agree with all 10 tips, and I do an oil dip once a week, and apply cuticle oil at least 3x per day.

Good advice! I had to quit getting my nails done because of the way salon’s treat our natural nailbed. They use that drill for everything and my nails were paper thin. I am still working at getting my nails back in shape.
Omg! The salons should be jailed for crimes again healthy nail beds!!!! 😤 They are so rough on them - it drives me mad. I refuse to get “professional” manis anymore. Good luck, you’ll get them back into shape soon! ❤️❤️

I always put a base coat on before I paint my nails.
I just have a clear base coat polish on currently. What I do before painting my nails a dark color is put clear base coat on and leave it on for a couple of days before putting on the polish. I will be painting them black in a couple of days.

Those gloves are the BEST 😁 And I haven’t tried the nailboo dip. I usually avoid dip altogether- but I’m curious about that system. Also, I find it hysterical that they have Paris Hilton promoting a DIY mani system 🤣🤣

The last one is a toughie for me. I usually change my polish every 4 - 5 days because I get chips and usually once there is a chip next comes a break, some peeling or a snag : (
Yes!! That’s a good point - I thought about that afterwards. If your nails start chipping definitely remove the mani! Will have to include that one in the next round 💅🏼
