- There's no place I'd rather be than the junkyard. I needed a few parts for my truck, so I made the trip out to browse the isles. While I do some regular fixing for most of the video, this upload was an attempt to share my appreciation for this graveyard of old cars. I hope I conveyed that and you enjoy taking in the scenery with me.

I'm 65 now, but I remember going to the same boneyards to keep all my rigs in good working order way back when I was 16. It makes me feel good to know 49 years later that a young guy can still do that. All the old boneyards I went to are all gone now. Your Vlog brought back good memories. Thanks
You have a very unique way of setting up camera angles and I like how you focus your artistic views. Good job!
Thanks!
He'd make a great cinematographer!
@@SimonFordman I agree - there are a ton of videos out there of old junkyards but your videos make us feel more like we're getting the excitement of the experience more. Seeing random details and whatnot. It's great.
These "no commentary" car repair videos are fantastic; this is a niche that is not currently available (at this quality) on YT.
Looking forward to more!
NO TRUER WORDS HAVE EVVVVVVER BEEN SPOKEN!!!
If you keep this up, you will do very well on TH-cam. 👍🏼
And now for some WARM coffee. Thanks again Simon.
Best shadetree mechanic on TH-cam!
One of my favorite channels for sure. I love the style of filming and the old Fords of course. And that LS Galaxie is killer . It seems like more content lately which is great
Thank you very much!
👍🏻
This cinematography is amazing!
You're a man after my own heart
You actually fix things!
Love it

Your classic videography is amazing. I love the aesthetic of your videos.
Thank you
My favorite TH-cam channel. I’m 19 out of West Virginia and have a 1980 Ford F-100 300, so I can always find great entertainment in what you post! I love that no nonsense, quality air to your content. It has so much character. I don’t often comment at all, but I had to since discovering this channel has really made my week. I find myself relating to you quite a bit with your adventures haha. Keep up the great work! Was even junk yarding myself for window cranks and an old Ford AM radio just the other day
That's awesome to hear, thanks for sharing the comment. Have fun with your f-100.
@@SimonFordmancan I please know where're from
You remind me of when i was younger in some ways. i love your cinematography, and i love your old fashioness. keep up what your doing!
Thank you very much.
No chatter, very good camera work, great format, subscribed immediately!!!
Broke my heart watching him trying to get those leaf springs off of that old four-wheel-drive Ford!
I´m a fan of your work man, I´m fixing my 1985 Peugeot 504 that´s been sitting for years. You channel will blow up soon, i know it. Keep it up!
Thank you. That sounds like a really cool project. Down the line I'd like to get into more unique stuff like that.
I'm getting such pleasure from your style starting with the GE Spacemaker coffee maker and lasting through problem solving, often through several iterations before finding the solution that worked. The lack of commentary and the attitude you project creates an ambience I find refreshing.... makes me feel good inside 😌 thank you for all the work creating these videos.
Editors premium cut, beautiful view & execution!
Need's a lot of sharing 😊
Hey listen this guy is a worker! I just found this channel very entertaining and informative. ….
But here’s the problem … One of you guys that watch this dude that’s got a lot of money get his address and send him a Milwaukee half-inch drive cordless impact gun with a couple of good batteries the big ones the five amp batteries…
and this dude needs a set of blow torches !!!!
help this guy out!
If I had the money I’d do it myself ….. Kyle Mountain Grove, Missouri
I am really digging your style and the work you put into these old rigs.
I own an older Mercedes diesel wagon, and the dash lights are notoriously dim, and the rheostat spring fails like yours did. I just jumped a wire on the rheostat for full brightness. I have also used Deoxit to revive electronics, especially volume knobs on older radios. Great stuff to have on the shelf.
I had to do exactly the same thing on the 1975 240D that's on my channel, didn't show it in the video though.
you can't beat a black cat ! I have one. Best regards chuck
Really enjoyed this one. I've watched it twice now. Always proper Minnesota vibes in these videos. I always enjoy my time there. I'm a Dodge Truck guy but I can't help but love these videos. Hope to see more.
Cheers
One of your vids popped up in my feed about a week ago. I really enjoy your thoughtful approach to your videography, steps you take to show your process, good skills...and of course, the silence. I'm now watching your vids from the beginning. I'm having to "armchair" mechanic at the moment but hope to be active on my car and truck again soon. In the meantime, I will enjoy viewing your vids. I call you "Zen Mechanic"!
Love the vintage GE coffee maker, so cool. Good ol Made in the USA.
A true story teller.
Nice to see the things you are doing! I wish to do the same on a old truck as well, may be an El Camino or F100.
That's a great junkyard.
I'm 64 and I still love to go to the junkyard ! Good job my friend. Good luck with your future projects.
Browsing the aisles in the Land of 10,000 Lakes... keep 'em coming, Mr. Fordman!
Awesome video! Love your old school style!
Just the sounds alone of old metal is pure gold, only thing missing is the smell of half combusted fuel only a carb can produce.
Great place to spend the day but man that's gotta be cold.
This is my favorite of all the videos . The shots that you got here are really cool
Ce format de vidéo est absolument génial, très beau travail c'est tellement relaxant. Tu nous régale, continue comme çà !
Merci!
Really a great channel, Man. Keep up this good work!
Awesome videos ! Love the old Fords ! I could see a definite sponsorship with PB Blaster
Or Fluid Film !
How are you, recently your videos appeared to me and this one in particular seemed very interesting to me, and of everything you did I like that you do it in a very simple and dynamic way, good music and without so many explanations, it is expected as a good fan of the line vw have you ever handled a bug or transporter of that type,... aaahh and I happened to mention that you have not changed the oil in the rear and front differential of this magnificent truck, greetings from the Southeast of Mexico. Pd here's a new follower.
Even the cat gets a tuneup each day....keep her/him purring like a fine machine! Another great vid.
At 20:09 that skylight filter gave its life for the protection of that expensive lense. 😭😭😭
Never pull a old nest out of a Ford. It's probably the only thing keeping it together. 😂 👍
These are some of the most beautiful videos I have ever seen.
I’ve subscribed too. Keep en coming
Very good Video, keep them coming 👍
Very intelligent man love your work i hope in the future you tidy up the bodywork thanks for sharing
Thank you. Yea, I would like to get to that someday.
Simon, i LOVE the scrapyards too and go every chance i get but only in the summer cuz i freeze in the winter lol.
2:57 That's how it is! The old school does not disappoint👍
Minnesoota! Oh ya, you betcha! Thanks for the video. 😊😊👌👌👍👍
Oh fer sure.
i love your video format. great job!
I like what you doing!
i really enjoy the vids on the truck!
Another great video but I always think you're going to forget your camera when you drive away😂
Every episode is like a trip back in time
It's great!!!
I've never seen videos edited the way your very original
Great video !! Cut, edition and views,, from Argentina we want more
Just found your channel. Great vids. Really entertaining
Found your channel yesterday. I'm loving this style of video!. Subbed.
There's something kind of poignant and sad about places like this. All of those derelicts were once shiny new showroom stars.
You can see evidence (like the birthday card in the school bus) that these were once doing useful work.
I remember once coming across a 1963 Ford Galaxie very similar to the one my Dad owned, complete with a windshield sticker allowing entry into Jasper National Park (circa 1966).
Now they rest and rust. I've always thought that sound seems different in an auto graveyard. The noises from everyday life seem to come from further away.
Thank you for the great pleasure to watch your videos... which are short movies. 👍
Really fucking cool dude. Love the cat content too. Respect from New Zealand.
У таких старых машин просто потрясающий запас прочности. И чувак красавчик всё умеет сделать!
Just started to watch your videos (& subscribed) here in the UK 🇬🇧, enjoying them very much, especially the ford trucks. Just wish we could just drive to a local scrap yard & get spares like you chaps can over there.
Thanks for watching! I certainly am glad to have the parts cars over here, I just couldn't find some stuff otherwise, affordably.
So cool man. My new favorite TH-cam channel.
Great content. Subscribed.
Love your videos Simon ! I'm from south America fan of old vw. Now I'm considering buying an old Ford. 😅 . All the best!
Pozdrawiam z Polski 🖐️🙂
Felt your pain on those shackle bolts having been there myself a few times. Love your video style 👍🏻
I miss my 66 fastback, yes I know its not a truck but the sound of the metals clanking sure sounds familiar. I'm subbed and like
I like your style of videos, good job! I do recommend starting to use # in your description so you can show up in more searches and be easier to be seen! longer descriptions with as many key words as possible. Keep up the good work!
I just discovered your channel today and I love it so much
Glad to hear it
Great channel!
Excelente canal, felicitaciones el trabajo de filmar y editar esto es oro puro ! Bravo
Gracias!
Rohners is a really cool yard to walk through aside from the ticks and overgrowth
Yea, I was finding ticks for a week when I went during the summer. And I wished I brought a machete
U Pull It in Sacramento. Barger-Matson in Boise. Up in Kamiah Idaho was a good place. Plus many others. If you needed a part you could go get one. Good old days really were gooder.
I really dig what your doing! I don't take video like you, but I do take pictures of the same things; unique tail lights, headlights, dashboards, door handles, hood ornaments, bumpers etc.
Very cool. The old dashboards/gauge clusters are my favorite.
Rohner's in Willmar. Long drive but always worth it. I found some great stuff for my 70' Duster. There's a 68' Road Runner buried in a ravine just to the left when you were on that first path. You missed the 71' F250 Super Duty a few years ago...put in a drive shaft and front glass, you could have driven it out of there. It was running...someone dumped it there. 🤟
Wow, wish I could’ve seen that.
You're going to have a following, dude. Love how you're editing your videos. Keep em coming, for sure. I want to start videos in a similar way myself. Need the time, though.
Thank you. Good luck with your videos when you can find the time. It’s a fun process.
HA! DUDEZILLA!!! I have the same themos!!
Man I sure bet you wish you had a pulled set for that 4 hour bolt! Good stuff, love the content
SimonFordman curtindo o video aqui do brasil São Paulo.
Subbed after about 15 minutes on your last video of this truck! One thing I would recommend you save your joints by getting a cheap corded impact wrench from harbor freight (BAUER 8.5 Amp 1/2 in). I call mine, The Judge. I've used this thing many times to remove 35mm rusted nuts and they come off in a hurry, like they forgot they owed money and left the stove on. Great job man, keep doing what you're doing! :)
Thank you. Yea, I don't know why I haven't gotten a real impact yet.
Greetings from Argentina, I congratulate you on your videos, you put a lot of love into what you do... how many cats do you have?
I didn't think junkyards like that still existed. The one I used to go to sold out over 20 years ago. It's an apartment complex now. I used to spend the whole day just wandering around having a blast. I wonder what happened to all the cars. All you see now are corporate yards that won't let you out back... not that you'd care to go anyway, it's all full of new cars lol. But then again, I still consider that truck you're driving to be a late model so I guess I'm out of touch.
I sense a 5 speed swap in your future, not only would it save you some gas but it would also make for a great vid.
im in shock in how you manage to set up some of these camera angles. Especially underneath the truck!
At first I was like- how many cars this guy owns? but now I’m like how many cats this guy has 😂
Contrary to popular belief, I technically have 0 cats. I just know where to find them.
Two things wrong. The time and the temperature. 😱🥶It does grieve me, see some of these once majestic cars reduced their current condition.😥I'm loving the torque wrench action.
I admire how you slam shit with great conviction whenever appropriate.😂 Dig, your work, man. #CWM
Relieved to see you got yourself a BFH!😂
843 subs on 2/25/24. Gonna enjoy watching this channel grow.
Thank you for the support!
Sounds like the venerable 300 6.
10.25 semifloat!
Динамометрическим ключом нельзя дотягивать гайки после щелчка. Сломаешь инструмент. Следует затянуть с меньшим усилием, потом переставить на большее и затянуть повторно. Впрочем, видео крутое. Приветствие с Украины!
Hey man, your videos are really good.
Here in Brazil we didn't have this model, but we had the F150 in the 70s.
Congratulations on the work.
Just one question.
How do you capture sound so well?
Note to self, start soaking those bolts now. And remember, a little anti seize.
I subbed yesterday. Love the content and appreciate your editing style. Consider throwing up a wishlist on your descriptions, maybe people would like to help you out with a hammer or a socket every now and again.
Колёсные шпильки смажь графитовой смазкой. В будущем при снятии колёс не будет проблем.
I had alway's had pretty good luck with older vehicles for 30 years, but after my 1968 elCamino fiasco in 2000, I saw no need for ever getting an old vehicle again. Forward to 2021 I wanted an old truck because my new vehicles were getting beat-up in parking lots.
I looked at a1985 2wd Ford that leaked everwhere, barely ran, and had body cancer for $1200, but the guy thought he could get more.
I settled on a rust free, not beat to shit, 1991 2wd Ford for $850 that I thought only had an exhaust manifold gasket leak. It did, plus a cracked intake manifold, and a pinhole in the block, so it got a re-maned 300 longblock with new associated parts.
It's a great truck now, so much so, that I sort of overloaded it with 2500# and drove it home 5 miles with no issues that I can tell.
Ford tough! I work on a lot of modern vehicles and it serves to reassure me that I much prefer the older vehicles.
50/50 acetone/automatic transmission fluid is the greatest penetrating/bolt breaking oil known to man. Try it
Camera angles are A+ dude, I think there’s a more accurate description of that in moviespeak but I don’t know. Either way, keep up what you are doing, you have some real talent and will go far in the TH-cam world if you keep at it!
Thanks for the support
need a mud tire that's all I run in winter ats are a beefy street tire
Simon…I’ll be delighted to introduce you to my daughter…
He don't have time for that😂women are too needy
the bumper you needed @ 12:55
Found this channel today scratches an itch I never knew I had, immediate subscribe. Curious are you a full time mechanic part time film student or full time film student part time mechanic
Nice video bro - if I may ask how old you are and what you do for living?
