Bought this brand new for $159 on sale in January 2024. This phone kills it at this price point and has android updates set through 2026. Still a very viable phone in 2024 if you get a good deal. Just make sure you disable the scene optimizer in your camera setting if you don't want shutter lag. The pictures are still excellent without it.
Still using mine daily... Bought it on launch in April 2022 with galaxy buds live included and it still runs pretty ok, battery has degraded to 86% as I was using it a lot while driving so constantly charging. This phone was laggy a little at the beginning but it really feels like it's got better over time with updates. Samsung seem to optimise their products well over time. I was considering upgrading to galaxy A55 when it launched but it didn't really seem to be a significant upgrade to me for the money, not even wireless charging. A53 now runs pretty much buttery smooth with everything apart from games but I don't really use it for games anyway. I think I am going to keep my A53 till the pixel 9 launches in October and will then keep it as a secondary phone.
According to you this phone is "done by getting sw support". Truth is that A53 will get android 15 and android 16 and gets security updates until 2027. Dunno seems kinda important point to left out in video explaining longevity of a phone in 2024
I have had this phone now for 1 year and a half. I am running Android 14 with U.I. 6.1 it runs great. I factory reset after 6.1 update fixed any issues for me. I only paid $300 Canadian for it. No complaints in 2024.
I'm using A53 5G now 1year old, sadly after update it suddenly stuck on a boot loop [I just used airplane mode], whenever I use sim card its back to bootloop again. Most people are experiencing it tho after update. Also, one thing I noticed when I send/post videos on messenger and instagram the quality got bad. Over the time, it got laggy too. I visited center but the repair costs like buying a new phone, also the warranty is just 1year, I thought 2 years tho. Just sharing my experience.....
@FhitoAtma I don't know but I think the phone is overused. I just woke up in the morning and then I realized that my phone screen doesn't move when I touch the screen, so I had the technician program it before, I just paid him 800.
I tried this phone with the intent of trying android. And i cant believe i got used with this device for a year now. Although the only downside i can say is the face unlock feature. But the rest of the phone is just fine for me. Btw i got the 8/256 variant same color as with the video shown.
As someone who owns an a53 and an s24 Plus I will 100% say that the A53 is still worth it just don't expect it to be what it's not. You can play traditional mobile games on it just don't expect it to play high end games at high FPS. Still works great for watching videos, browsing the web, making phone calls, playing music, etc. the stereo speaker systems still sounds good the screen resolution and pixel density is still better than most phones out there, really there's not much to complain about.
This phone used to work great. Recently in the last couple months its seemed to really show its age. I dont game much but even the poker wsop app really slows this phone down and takes forever to load. Works fine for social media and youtube but steer clear if you want to game. The photos it takes arent very impressive compared to what else is out there aswell. But for a cheap phone i picked up i believe 2 years ago its still going strong. Will be updating soon.
@ToquemeuTOC haha I'm still using it mate. I play cod mobile on the lowest setting and get by. Would love toupgrade though. Thanks for your input. Love the sonic franchise
Mine broke after 2 years. Got static screen and it shut down. Brought it to customer service and they said it was a board problem. I also tried third party repair and they were able to get it running for a bit only and it shut down later on anyways Great phone though honestly despite some lags here and there because of updates. I am really upset that it just had to die on me unexpectedly.
Aloha. Thank you for your commentary. I appreciate it : ) I bought my A53 last year. Like you, I was looking for a SD card phone and love this option. I store my pictures, vids, and music on the micro SD card. I have a question: So, far I've never hit the software update on this phone because I'm afraid I might loose some apps, like what happens sometimes with computers, especially Windows 11. Could you tell us (me) what kind of side effects I might have if I download the Galaxy update? Just recently I'm experiencing very slow charging and did everything to try and fix it, except do the update. Thanks for a reply.
No I usually get low battery problems, not that I don't charge my phone lol😅 I do, I tends to take up a TON of battery even if the brightness is low, eye comfort shield is on and on dark mode and EVEN IF Your scroll speed is at advanced, really mid phone, 7.5/10 I will be getting I phone next year.
Pixel 6a if you want performance, cameras, flagship feel. A53 if you only care about battery, LOVE one UI and care about 1 more year of support. I would take the 6a personally
this game is garbage. when it powers on it takes 5 minutes to even be usable...it is unbearably slow. the screen is choppy all the time. it overheats so much.
The data is bad on the a 53 and look it up it has the slowest internet out of alll sceries phone !! Get like a differrent series like s20 or s22 if not a 54 or a71
I am a user of this phone if u are buying one of these phones please check for 8gb ram and not 6gb. 6gb is so trash i am not joking there is lag sometimes, ghitter and u can only sometimes have two apps on the back ground. I upgraded to one ui 6 and well more bugs have shown it self. Tbh better to buy the a54 i also have it but s23 fe exists for 300 to 400 usd recommend buying that over any mid ranger
This phone has the weakest signal out of all the samsung devices I've used in the past, not to mention the weak performance. I'll be upgrading in a few months
I have the 8GB RAM, 256GB drive version, and am still running Strong. I got it for Les, then €500 2+ years ago. Had A huawie, and it just bleeped out on my, and I got this one It's a solid divide if you are buying now get it super cheap or get something newar it a good divide never les And yes, 4 GB RAM won't cut it, I know from the git go 6 GB RAM maybe. Most complaints I came by on the internet, I am assuming, are from the 4 GB RAM version. I have the 8 ram 1. 1 thing I am amazed about with phones in the last like 5 years is how long the battery lasts before being replaced if it's handles properly.

cool but how did you check its battery health
Several different apps from the play store. Most popular one is accubattery
Can i buy brand new A53 now in 2024 for $350 in Bangladesh?
Is it worthwhile?
I ended up upgrading to the galaxy S24 instead. Very happy with it. I still have the A53 though :)

What I understood about this video: "this particular phone. Period."
Me here proud of being A53 user since May 2023. But I just had a problem about the screen lags and I went to technician to fix it up.
What you mean screen lags?
