You look at football in the USA twenty years ago and you wouldn't see anything close to this, they've come a long way since they hosted the World Cup in 94.
@@HurricanezzYT no...in canada it wont make a diff...they;re only hosting like 2-3 games (stadiums) and NONE past the group stage...same for mexico only even less, i think ONLY mexico city will host one game, one city-stadium only, and thats also in group stage..while in the usa it will be huge, 1st off it will be the 1st world cup ever to not hold the usual 32 countries (8 groups), WHILE the world cup in USA will be the 1st to host 48 countries aka 12 groups which in itself will be HUUUUUUGE for not just usa but "soccer" across the world since it will give so many small, island, shit countries, all 3 groups of those will get a much much bigger chance to qualify and play....when world cup 1st started, i think in uruguay was the 1st one, in 1934 if im not mistaken, or 1932, only 8 countries made it, if not 6... idont even think u had to qualify, just whos ever country felt like paying for 25 guys AT MOST (thats including the 11 players, subs, coaches, docts, chairmen, lmao), with european countries traveling by boats from portugal, spain, france, enland, germany, italy etc...u get the point, but prob majority traveled to portugal 1st since it was much faster travel by land (train) then sea (boat) and then from boat to s. america aka brazil....only 6 ot 8 said f it we'll go for it, w like 2-3 ONLY from europe, i think usa actually came and defeated ENGLAND and kicked them out which was surprise of all surprises...speaking of usa now, its def growing into a football powerhouse. unfortunetly, it's still "soccer", mostly a soccer mom - kids up to 12-13 sport, who just play to play something, since its so cheap, almost NO equipment is needed but a fkn soccer ball u can buy for 3$ at ur local grocery store, and MAYBE, cleats and shin guard which are also super cheap...i watched the kids play on few occassions in local parks (for bout 30 seconds n seen enough) and every kid is literally chasing after the ball, nobody knows even the point of positions of each player, spreading the field etc...while kids in Europe, S america too i'm sure, start off playing games that look damnear just like the pros, without the quality strong kicks offcourse due to their size/strength..but everything else is there, they all play TEAM game, not chase the ball till it literally gets chased in the oponents goal, every kid is just going for the kick kicking the shit out the ball i dont even think they care bout what direction they kick it in lmao....and then after that, after they turn 12-13, they start playing their traditional american sports, they still have a HUGE stupid thinking of sport is not a sport unless its played w ur hands...they JUST DONT GET IT...but i agree the 2026 world ccup will make it that much bigger in usa, prb twice as it is now, which is a beautiful thing to see compared to how much usa used to be made fun of when it came to football in genera, when in reality they just dont give a flying f about it lol...the national team is quite a wild card, i think in brazil in 2014 they made it to top 8, last one in russia top 16 coming very close to top 8 but belgium BARELY beat them etc..but canada, no, it'll make little to no difference, while in "mehico" its already the number 1 thing in world period lol so it won't get any bigger its already been as big as it can get just like the rest of fellow latin - s american countries and europe...its also grown HUNG in asia and midddle east, w middle eastern peace of shit rch oil sheiks buying clubs all over exp the super rich ones buying clubs all over england, which the britis hate, but thats another story..i rmmbr i think cardiff it was, a malysian billionare bought it, the dude that brought mcdonalds to malasya and got so rich off it, he changed cardiffs traditional 100yr colors from blue to red, made their logo just as old look like a asian dragon typa shit, brits wasn't havign none of that, boycoted the club from get-go, which im sure every fanbase in europe would do if that was done to their club...shit in croatia, their #1 clubs name got switched from dinamo to croatia, during the 90s when fascism and patriotism was running thru croatia seeing how it just came out of the smaller of the balkan wars in the 90s, compared to the one in Bosnia, and got their independence fairly easy, their fascist president at time changed dinamo to croatia, and same thing happened boycotts ALL OVER, tilll it was renamed back to dinamo zagreb...i can go on for years, but point being no it will not become anything bigger in canada, while in mexico its already as big as it can get, #1 sport by far ppl die for lol
Ever since we visited Seattle last year we knew we had to return to Cascadia for the Portland derby match, and what an atmosphere!
im a die hard epl fan but i will admit some clubs dont even have a home atmosphere like this team. Timbers always fascinate me when i watch their mls games. Gotta say football is on a rise in america
I am a Manchester United fan from Manchester (not a glory hunting cockney) and the us football(soccer) culture fascinates me. Interesting to see the tifos and banners they display, would love more of that in the Uk
Thanks mate but u British be having like 100s of songs to sing lmao and the atmosphere u guys create is just a whole different perspective of football.
I might not watch mls or football in us in general but man the supporters really are amazing. This is something I've loved this derby days series for instead of focusing on the more well known rivalries they have gone for these more obscure rivalries and I love to watch these supporters pour their heart out. Respect from an Atletico Madrid fan to the sounders and timbers fans. Respect to copa 90.
@@CrimsonKobaNakirigumi they're good now (especially LAFC). But the commenter was talking about how NYC and LA are the first cities you think of when thinking of the USA.
I love this, it's the kind of passion you see from fans at Dortmund, Red Star, and teams with massive love for their teams in Europe, so fans of like man city and sorts calling this plastic and without history, just shut up, this is real passion, and this is coming from a European football fan. To see how much U.S. soccer has come, considering when the states won the gold cup in 2007, (I read this in a biography Tim Howard wrote) nobody knew who they were when they went out showing off the trophy. And a couple of days ago I watched u.s. play Jamaica in a sold out Georgia dome, and the Georgia dome is massive, but filled with American fans! It's some great stuff.
This is what footballs about community, passion, pride and the love of the beautiful game, I am an MUFC Mancunian and this is incredible what you MLS fans are doing over there your building something really special you should be proud. Welcome to The Football Family
Para um país como os Estados Unidos que não tem uma tradição forte no futebol mundial, isso que essa torcida faz já é algo grandioso. Estou impressionado!
this looks so insane, proper derby but light-hearted between fans with mutual respect. insane on it respectful off it. how rivalries should be. great video.
I was in Portland for three weeks and I went to the Portland vs Vancouver game to see my uncle play and it was the best football experience in my life!
I'm so glad you guys covered this darby, I live in Portland and am a huge Timbers fan. I have also been a fan of copa90 for a while now. I was at the game that you covered in this video, I still can't believe we won 4-1.
Absolutely fantastic. Incredible short, incredible culture. Thanks for showing the world what the US is capable of. I hope whoever you pick to be the North American presenter keeps this standard up.
Ryan Grimes All respect to America, I have tried, but I can't take it seriously yet. If it keeps going as it is, then I will respect it as I do with Italy, Portugal etc. Is there a hooligan culture blossoming in America as well?
Carlos Vela I live in Portland... This video does show the real deal. You're welcome to come visit anytime and I'd even be happy to show you around! :)
***** you act like 70s era was so long ago there are a ton of clubs that been around for 80 90 years man MLS clubs still are not at par with others countries history
Im not from the PNW, my daughters started playing soccer when we moved here. I took them to a Timbers game to show them how the pros do it. we sat in the Timbers Army and that was it. We were all in from that day on. RCTID
The Portland city council just announced the January 20th would be a holiday dedicated to the Portland Timbers. If that's not passion I don't know what is!
I really wish people would just get rid of that stigma of just disrespecting other fanbases tbh. I follow different leagues around the world; the j league, super lig, or bundesliga. As a Peruvian I always had fun watching my nation's league and here in the US I can do the same for Orlando City in its first year and there's more to the chants or flares; we actually volunteer helping our state and communities in Florida and this was even before OCSC made it to MLS. I wish we could respect each other's league because we all have something we like from each part of the World.
What the hell is wrong with the English fans commenting on this video? Why are you trying to keep them down? I say they've come a long way. No need for envy, no need to put them down. Yes, a team in League 1 or the Championship might have better support. But think about something else: those teams also have 70 years or more of a head start, which gave them plenty of time to bind strong roots in their communities. Of course you're going to be a die-hard Leeds fan if your grandfather and father pass it to you, the club is almost 100 years old! Don't compare that to these guys. Teams formed in the 70's, living in the shadow of the other professional leagues(NFL, MLB, NBA)...I say they've come a long way and congratulate them for it. Football is not a part of American culture, they started with a handicap. And from what I see they would fare well against most of Europe. Maybe it seems artificial to some of us because they have a more friendly atmosphere; we in Europe love a good fight :) Also there's much more hate in Europe; they have gay pride flags, we have swastika's, celtic crosses or antifa signs in our terraces. They don't seem that big on hate; good for them I suppose, that way they'll help football become more popular.
hey, thanks. i appreciate this comment. they way i see it the atmosphere is more friendly because we're just happy to see fellow soccer fans even if they support other teams, because the sport really has only a cult following compared to others here.. from the videos i've seen on youtube NFL fandom in the UK has some similar elements
Fantastic work per usual. It was great to hear more of the story behind Timber Jim (and "You Are My Sunshine" - classy touch). Can only imagine your thoughts when Adi went and grabbed the chainsaw. Haha.
YES! Love seeing coverage of soccer in the US being shown around the world, and much love to those Euro fans who can hop off their high horse and admit we are doing OK for our young league and only wish us the best.
Living in Seattle, I must say people here just love Sounders. That is all that matters. Our history might not be as old as the European clubs, but we are as passionate as any other club fans.
i don´t think you know what you´re talking about. If u have ever been to a Derby in Europe or South America you then will know what level of Passion these People have. Some are willing to die for their Teams, literally.. That said: i think it´s great that not all american Sports have that "Charge" "Make some noise" kinda feeling to it anymore.
SigiPower1982 you're speaking straight out of your ass. Seem to know so much at us football supporters in the states but u ain't got a fucking clue "not as passionate as fans in europe" why because I'm American? Somehow doesn't make me a true football supporter or passionate about my club hahaha fuck outta here. Go to a game first and see for yourself
Blake Winchester It's literally the same thing. Vancouver and Portland get exactly the same attendance and Seattle is always getting their large amount. The atmosphere is the same in every game.
caelanl Then start showing some passion. I actually enjoy our matches vs Wankcouver more than vs the Scum because you guys are decent human beings unlike those idiots in Portland, but you lack the passion. You're too nice sometimes. Too Canadian. Get rowdy. Go mental. Unleash your fury on us in Seattle. It's just as important as anything that happens on the pitch.
Seattle is arguably the most hated team in the entire league. Everyone wants to kick their asses I'm a San Jose Earthquakes fan. Although i cannot stand Los Angeles, i dont really like seattle just as much. The sounders act like they're hot shit when they barely won anything. And LA is like the spoiled child of the league.
I was surprised when I came to Sanjose Earthquakes’s home game. It was close to a big township festival than a soccer game. That kind of atmoshphere is hard to find in Europe (I watched games in London, Paris, Barcelona, Dortmund, Rome) US and MLS has made very unique, sophisticated and family-friendly culture. They deserve be proud of that.
When did you come to the SJ Earthquakes' match? I feel like we have many dormant fans but the interest is sucked out of the team with unambitious ownership
@@hawkinsstern5356 I went the match in april 2015 when I was on business trip to Palo Alto. I also felt team doesnt invest much on their squad and the performance was not that high enough. But the atmosphere of fans and community was awesome.
I think I've figured out why MLS gets so much hate. We've got very good facilities, passionate fans, good attendance, and we're American. They hate to see us do footy culture well when it's not at the forefront of our society.
Mls is still shit and well the clubs have no history just money to but has been players who want to make a quick buck in an easy league basically sunday league
Ernesto Vargas How could they have history on par with Europe when most clubs are less than 35 years old? In time they will. No club in the world had history or were amazing good 35 years in. Get off your High Horse.
***** lol high horse and no not just europe south america central america you name it either MLS teams have no rep in international football haven't seen them win anything if any in concacaf champions league haven't seen them win important youth tournaments so they still got a lot of catching up to do
Andyrfa but this is it really.... sadly. But my team (rapids) has really improved in one year but I'm really happy with the improvement. Besides that we do the Iceland clap for corners. And only 2 people can do it
I had the pleasure of being at this derby last year as we did a Seattle - Portland trip. And I have to say, being at the Timbers' home for the derby was the best US sporting atmosphere I have ever experience! I have been to many other US sporting "derbies" (football, baseball, hockey) and none of them come close to this! I always recommend people if they have a chance to go and experience this. It was thrilling and I still get chills remembering the passion in the crowd. Thank you Copa90 for going out there and showing the world what passion is! I look forward to more of your videos and derbies!
As a Sounders fan, I can’t stand the Timbers. But, I have a lot of respect for their history and Timber Jim. This is unlike any soccer rivalry I’ve ever seen before! Lets go Sounders! 💙💚
Much respect to the Portland timbers!! I would love to see other U.S. derbys covered like the Hudson river derby {nycfc vs "new York" red bulls) and el trafico (LA galaxy vs LAFC)
Bro go back to school I you think Mexico is part Central America. Mexican clubs still dominate mls clubs in the champions league. In the sport and the fan culture
Other than maybe the Yankees-Red Sox, there is no more heated rivalry in U.S. sports that the Sounders and Timbers. So glad you gave it not just the credit it deserves, but the global attention it deserves. Thank you Copa90!
I got alot more respect for US football this year the atmosphere in many stadiums is getting better (personally I think it's alot better than UK) and when I went to Netherlands-US I noticed how good their talents where I think that within 20 years they could become a country that can challenge european and south american countries for the world cup
***** I support a team that doesn't use drums or megaphones and I don't like drums, megaphones, capo's and all that bs but atleast they try to improve their atmosphere well english (should have said that instead of uk) atmospheres are only getting worse
+Wouter van der Lecq Don't be surprised if we win a World Cup in less than 20 years. If there is one thing that this country can do really, really well it's producing monster athletes.
@@topshaggermckay2804 never expected any reactions to this post anymore, even forgot about it. But back then I meant the premier league with saying the UK. I think a lot higher of scottish fans. I also stayed in the US for a few months and visited a few seattle sounders matches. The atmosphere was pretty dissapointing compared to what they promote it to be. So right now I wouldn't feel the same as I did back when I posted this.
It is really good to see American and Canadian fans living soccer this way. It is amazing the atmosphere you guys can create in a soccer game. This sport is growing and the passion too, cause soccer is all about passion, and you Americans had discovered that. Respect from Brazil, from a Flamengo supporter.
well you don´t and can´t either. Look: In Europe there is sometimes 5k-10k Away Fans in a Rival City. You just can´t do that so u will never understand.
that´s what im saying:"you can´t do that". Its impossible to understand what being a fan means in Europe for an American. You will put yourself in Danger every Weekend in a Rival City, walking around it being able to be attacked at any time. That takes a lot of love for the Club to put yourself through such a thing.
SigiPower1982 it’s not about not wanting to be in danger, it’s the fact that we don’t have away days down the street. The closest one to me (which I always go to) is 600km away. Kinda hard to take 5k fans when the average away day is closer to 1000km.
All the english fans thinking their derbies are the best are cute. I'm a Norwich fan, our derby with Ipswich is mental, but it didn't even rank with this. I'd like to see the Sofia derby (CSKA-Levski) covered though
Barnaby Hands British derbies were the best until the Taylor report which made stadiums become all seater, from then on ticket prices rose and rose, remember we invented football and football hooliganism.
I’ve seen more comments condemning Europeans for talking crap than I have seen Europeans talking crap lol. Glad that’s the case tho love to see the MLS in the spotlight good vid
Just want to say a few things about American soccer for all the haters. Yes we're not nearly on the same level as Europe. But you have to understand that we have not been around as long. I mean our league still isn't finished forming. We don't have relegation system and our playoff structure is strange. Geographically, we are so spread out that the closest thing we have to a derby is Portland Seattle or Seattle Vancouver. These rivalries are based off of the city identities and we consider it a derby because it's within reasonable driving distance. Visitors can go see derby matches and come back the same night. Portland and Seattle have been two of the best teams in the MLS within the last 5 years. All this being said soccer is growing here and you'd be surprised by the quality of youth soccer in the U.S. Growing up playing club soccer in California we get a lot of homegrown talent as well as mexican talent.
Spencer Summerhays great take, and saying we haven’t been around as long is an understatement. Most large European leagues/clubs were founded in the early 1900s or before. The oldest MLS teams were founded in 1994 with few exceptions, which is a crazy difference. Excited to see what the future holds for soccer in America!
I'm from Seattle and I'm Sounders til I die, but Portland's TIFO is ALWAYS the best in the league year in and year out. Seattle's overall atmosphere is better but the Timber's Army just has something going on with their TIFO. Amazing stuff. Great video this!
Absolutely loved this video, as a woman who loves both these clubs the rivalry between the two has been something I have loved for many many years. You did a fabulous job on representing both the Timbers and the Sounders, and while we can't agree on who has the best team, two things we can agree on is that we love our teams and we love our states! #PTFC
That's exactly the problem with american football! A women who loves both clubs?!🙈SO PLASTIC! You don't get that in eastern Europe! There is much more passion, agression, hatred, intimidation, pyro and fightings!!!!!! In Usa they're all well behaved and plastic! AGAINST MODERN FOOTBALL!!!!!!!
I fell in love with football watching a seattle v Portland playoff game. Great time. Most live US sports are totally unaffordable for normal people, the mls isn’t and the difference in the cup palpable.
You guys NEED to come to Minnesota to see Minnesota United FC and sit with the Dark Clouds and ride the death loon express, NSC Stadium (Minnesota's stadium) currently only holds around 10,000 people but you should come either for our home opener (April 2nd), the preseason tournament opening game in Portland (Portland Timbers vs Minnesota United FC) or our MLS opener probably sometime in 2017.

Silent Queue no no, womens soccer please, not in the world. I assure you
im a die hard epl fan but i will admit some clubs dont even have a home atmosphere like this team. Timbers always fascinate me when i watch their mls games. Gotta say football is on a rise in america
I am a Manchester United fan from Manchester (not a glory hunting cockney) and the us football(soccer) culture fascinates me. Interesting to see the tifos and banners they display, would love more of that in the Uk
we also got freestanding, look up LAFC, Orlando, Minnesota United, and others
Thanks mate but u British be having like 100s of songs to sing lmao and the atmosphere u guys create is just a whole different perspective of football.
Hawkins Stern charlotte is going to be all-standing too, at least in the supporters section.
It's all stolen from continental eurooe
Sporting Kansas City has great fans(and as an RSL fan, it kills me to say this)
I might not watch mls or football in us in general but man the supporters really are amazing. This is something I've loved this derby days series for instead of focusing on the more well known rivalries they have gone for these more obscure rivalries and I love to watch these supporters pour their heart out. Respect from an Atletico Madrid fan to the sounders and timbers fans. Respect to copa 90.
amazing! can't believe they have a guy with a chainsaw as a mascot! big up respect for Timber Jim
Glad you guys got to enjoy the atmosphere!
Agreed!!!!
MLS is much more than NYC or LA. We have a passion. We may not be a top league in the world, but we support the same.
I thought NYC and LA teams were shite?
@@CrimsonKobaNakirigumi they're good now (especially LAFC). But the commenter was talking about how NYC and LA are the first cities you think of when thinking of the USA.
@@CrimsonKobaNakirigumi NYC and LA will always have "plastic fans" as you say for almost every sport
Well done
No you dont support the same, you dont know about fights in the streets or deep rivalries, or clothing.
Going to that derby is definely on my bucket list
Kristofer Mc Cormack yes highly recommend it!
Kristofer Mc Cormack I was at this game and it was fucking bonkers!
It is an amazing atmosphere. It is so worth it.
+Kristofer Mc Cormack I was there last year at the 4-4 draw. It was insane.
Kristofer Mc Cormack the intensity is crazy one Timbers fan got his scarf "Torn" off by a Seattle fan! Get game! But hold on to your Scarf...
Respect from germany!
I didn't know MLS clubs have such great fans. :)
I went to an FC Kaiserslautern match last year. it was nuts. loved the experience of German football.
Toronto-Montreal, LA Galaxy- San Jose.
Noah Lennon Toronto Montreal is gonna get bigger too after the playoffs this year
Noah Lennon Toronto Montreal is alright but honestly a joke compared to the cascadia derby same with san Jose vs LA
Tom Lewis Sadly not all of them. Portland and Seattle are the cream of the crop. Orlando and Atlanta are alright too. The rest are trash
Fake culture
Ryan Grimes All respect to America, I have tried, but I can't take it seriously yet. If it keeps going as it is, then I will respect it as I do with Italy, Portugal etc. Is there a hooligan culture blossoming in America as well?
Carlos Vela I live in Portland... This video does show the real deal. You're welcome to come visit anytime and I'd even be happy to show you around! :)
Carlos Vela fake carlos vela
***** you act like 70s era was so long ago there are a ton of clubs that been around for 80 90 years man MLS clubs still are not at par with others countries history
Much respect from Brazil. I'm truly impressed.
Vdd, nem imaginava que existia pelo menos 2 torcidas que gostavam de futebol nos eua
I'm a huge fan of the Philadelphia Union but the Seattle and Portland fans are absolute amazing
I don't know anything about MLS, I'm a Dortmund fan, and I think you guys have nice supporters, very passionate.
If that's not passion I don't know what is!
that*
Why janurary 20th?
+BP TV (USA #1) May be the day the club was founded? Idk
Americans just use every excuse they have to get a holiday because of their shitty labour laws
They don't seem that big on hate; good for them I suppose, that way they'll help football become more popular.
alexgiurgi08 THANK. YOU. Could not have said it better myself haha.
Thank you for backing us up, alexgiurgi08! :)
hey, thanks. i appreciate this comment. they way i see it the atmosphere is more friendly because we're just happy to see fellow soccer fans even if they support other teams, because the sport really has only a cult following compared to others here.. from the videos i've seen on youtube NFL fandom in the UK has some similar elements
What's wrong with celtic crosses
Proper this. Never expected this from US Football. Quality
Fantastic work per usual. It was great to hear more of the story behind Timber Jim (and "You Are My Sunshine" - classy touch). Can only imagine your thoughts when Adi went and grabbed the chainsaw. Haha.
This is one of the best episodes you guys have ever done. World Class!
YES! Love seeing coverage of soccer in the US being shown around the world, and much love to those Euro fans who can hop off their high horse and admit we are doing OK for our young league and only wish us the best.
As an American who follows both MLS and the English Premier League, this is great to see. Here's hoping more derbys like this develop in the States.
I come from England and what I have seen here is so fresh. Ingenious, well done, to me I would like to welcome the US to the beautiful game.
I'd avoided watching this particular episode out of my own snobbishness. Glad I got over myself. That was sick
I love this. Both teams represent what the beautiful game is all about ❤
Love this exact game!! First Portland vs Seattle rivalry I went to!!
Thank you Copa90.. I just fell in love with Portland Timbers and MLS!! ❤️❤️
"Football without fans is nothing".
Both sets of fans are a credit to their clubs.
Timbers for me though.
I lived in the States for Years. Moved back because of my Club. Trust me i know and u aint got a clue.
SigiPower1982 No you don't hahaha
Sounders. Till I die. As always.
keep making these longer documentaries copa 90, they're among the best videos on youtube
Hey guys, Vancouver Whitecaps are part of this rivalry too.
Not as much lol. (Timbers fan)
Blake Winchester
It's literally the same thing. Vancouver and Portland get exactly the same attendance and Seattle is always getting their large amount. The atmosphere is the same in every game.
caelanl ay caelanl is right, sending equal disdain for both Vancouver and Seattle. build a bonfire
caelanl ehhh
caelanl Then start showing some passion.
This has made me a Timbers fan. Legends!!!!
Seattle is arguably the most hated team in the entire league. Everyone wants to kick their asses
I'm a San Jose Earthquakes fan. Although i cannot stand Los Angeles, i dont really like seattle just as much. The sounders act like they're hot shit when they barely won anything. And LA is like the spoiled child of the league.
@Anthony and yet they're the one of the best teams in the league I can see why they are hated
***** so they're like the Yankees but without the unbridled success?
RollOnToVictory pretty much
SEATTLLLLE SOOOOOUNDERS!
The Mls hate is coming
Best football related content on youtube.Literally.
I was surprised when I came to Sanjose Earthquakes’s home game. It was close to a big township festival than a soccer game.
That kind of atmoshphere is hard to find in Europe (I watched games in London, Paris, Barcelona, Dortmund, Rome)
US and MLS has made very unique, sophisticated and family-friendly culture.
Because no one cares about Vancouver- sincerely a Toronto FC fan ;) lol
Evan Saltare Nah mate we hate you cause of the mentality .
***** lol high horse and no not just europe south america central america you name it either MLS teams have no rep in international football haven't seen them win anything if any in concacaf champions league haven't seen them win important youth tournaments so they still got a lot of catching up to do
Eli's passion at 13:53 is the reason why I watch derby days. (now do Western Sydney vs Sydney F.C.)
The fact that there are actually real football/soccer supporters (not just spectators) in USA, really shocked me.
I have more appreciation with MLS after this video. Thank you..
Let it rain! Let it pour! Let the Portland Timbers SCORE!
When I root I root for the Timbers!
Mason Forrest fucking hell man, do yanks consider that a good chant?
@@taylorl7001 oh come on there are so many cringe British chants
Being a Seattle boy that played in the academy for 2 years I love this so much
As a Sounders fan, I can’t stand the Timbers. But, I have a lot of respect for their history and Timber Jim. This is unlike any soccer rivalry I’ve ever seen before! Lets go Sounders! 💙💚
History??? U wanna kidding me 🤣🤣🤣🤣 they are 22 years old wich history do u mean if there is no
@@mxmrnr0642 goes back to the 70s not 22 years ago
good afternoon from the Czech Republic! thanks for the video Seth.
Tbh , one of the best videos i seen in copa 90
Timbers-fans, Sounders-fans; This is beautiful, keep it up!
Much respect to the Portland timbers!! I would love to see other U.S. derbys covered like the Hudson river derby {nycfc vs "new York" red bulls) and el trafico (LA galaxy vs LAFC)
This is what football is all about PASSION MORE THAN A GAME
True!!!!
Thank you copa90 for making such videos and keeping the fans in the centre of attraction . Loved it
Got to say, as a european, i’m impressed.
Timbers Army - Best support in North America
Lol no Mexican clubs are miles ahead kid
Maybe in the USA but not north america
Isn't mexico part of central america?
xSDxGamer I hope you're joking
Bro go back to school I you think Mexico is part Central America. Mexican clubs still dominate mls clubs in the champions league. In the sport and the fan culture
The world game!! Great to see the growth in the U.S.
I've got goosebumps, wonderful job Eli and Copa90!
Thank you for coming out to Portland and showing what we can do!
Thanks a lot. This was great.
OMFG what an atthmmospherrrrreee! I think i can be amember of Timbers Army with my beards. Respect from Turkey.
The American fans have quite a poor reputation in Europe... but this atmosphere looked unbelievable, I am so impressed.
Other than maybe the Yankees-Red Sox, there is no more heated rivalry in U.S. sports that the Sounders and Timbers. So glad you gave it not just the credit it deserves, but the global attention it deserves. Thank you Copa90!
Ohio State-Michigan could be considered.
Should have done this with the Champions of the Cascadia Cup.. The Vancouver Whitecaps! Either way well done yet again Copa90!!
Seems our fans are getting there. No, we don't have the 100 years of Fandom and chants to go with it, but we're getting there. We're getting there.
I got alot more respect for US football this year the atmosphere in many stadiums is getting better (personally I think it's alot better than UK) and when I went to Netherlands-US I noticed how good their talents where I think that within 20 years they could become a country that can challenge european and south american countries for the world cup
That's what the beauty of football can do to you. I reckon it will overtake american football within the next decade
Rangers and celtic there self are louder than every club in the uk and us
@@topshaggermckay2804 never expected any reactions to this post anymore, even forgot about it.
Im brazillian and im susprised for this vídeo. When we think on USA we never think about soccer. I loved the slab cut ceremony for the scores!
where is panathinaikos vs olympiakos ?!?!?!?
In Greece...
jimochild 13 in debt
James Lee yeah yeah youre clever
jimochild 13 take a look at the chanel: Ultras World! They show some REAL Derbies and Ultra highlights in General
Olof Hellbjerg yeah i know it
this is for all the people that say the U.S doesn't take football seriously
#Tellem!!!
well you don´t and can´t either. Look: In Europe there is sometimes 5k-10k Away Fans in a Rival City. You just can´t do that so u will never understand.
@@SigiPower1982 well it's kinda hard because we all don't live in one of three cities in an area the size of Alabama
that´s what im saying:"you can´t do that".
Great video. Thank you for making this!
I love seeing this video as a timbers supporter
Portland have the best fans of the Mls
True.
OMG Copa90 liked my comment, thanks :)
Giuseppe Noviello this guy i know got beat up by some timbers fans after a match the sounders won in portland
No Seattle is
Nah Seattle
That looks insane!
I’ve seen more comments condemning Europeans for talking crap than I have seen Europeans talking crap lol. Glad that’s the case tho love to see the MLS in the spotlight good vid
Soccer is kinda new in the US, but this is some kind of old-school-like devotion... Props to them...
Timbers supporters are the craziest football fans in the US... hands up!
Respect from Malmö, Sweden Nice to see that the american football culture is growing👍🏻👊🏻
I'm from Seattle and I'm Sounders til I die, but Portland's TIFO is ALWAYS the best in the league year in and year out. Seattle's overall atmosphere is better but the Timber's Army just has something going on with their TIFO. Amazing stuff. Great video this!
Respect from PTFC
Amazing atmosphere. Well done, Timbers!
Thank you for doing the Cascadia rivalry justice
Pick a side Portscum or Seattle bitch
Why pick a side when I respect both of the teams, hence I have the best of both worlds.
Maybe I want to go to a passionate derby without have to worry about my life.
Thanks Blake.
This was the same Timbers team that won the MLS cup mind you.
Timber Jim, a mascot through 30 fucking years ? Awesome 💪🏻😎
Great job on the video👍🏻
I fell in love with football watching a seattle v Portland playoff game. Great time. Most live US sports are totally unaffordable for normal people, the mls isn’t and the difference in the cup palpable.
Best derby day episode!
Better than Manchester And North London derby.
You wot mate ?
It's because the FA are wankers and don't allow pyro, smoke etc.
^
ikr
CashewXcraft it's not just about pyro, tickets aren't affordable anymore. the most passionate fans are priced out.
Brilliantly produced video. MLS really is on a massive rise.
I don't get tired of watching this.
Go to an Orlando City home match you have a collection of South American and European fans all in support of a new team the fans there are amazing
Blake Winchester hence him saying new team. I live in orlando and the whole city is just purple and gold.
Plastic club
Holland Wala Pendu Jatt who NYCFC? Yea I know
Blake Winchester Thank You! 👏👏👏
***** NYCFC stadium is full of Plastic, go to an Orlando game if u want atmosphere
See mls isn't soo bad
