its really satisfying to see someone taking advantage of all of the little skips and speedrunning tricks skipper snuck into the level design. also, personal pet peeve of mine, the name of the game is Mega Man Shattered Diamond, no colon. if we wanted it there, we'd put it there.
yeah as a player i love discovering them, speedrun-friendly design makes these games 100% more replayable for me also yeeah that's just a habit of mine :p i can edit that
Honestly, this stage has my favorite music out of all the ones in this demo. And let me tell you, going through Jungle Man's stage with Bass' momentum not carrying over after bouncing off of one of the flowers felt really weird.
At first I thought "there's no way they'd give the grappling hand/hook as a weapon like the Wire Adaptor from Minus Infinity, it'll probably be the bomb he threw with extended duration like Flash Grenade" Boy was I happy to be wrong
_[insert a Daniel Page post about how the design for a monkey Robot Master CLEARLY rips off one of his designs from Mega Man Eternal here]_ Kidding, of course. He probably didn't say anything but it would not shock me in the slightest if he had.
Why the minus before the damage number? From my perspective I take a positive value as how much damage I, the player, am doing. A minus/negative number seems to look at it from the enemies perspective, that their health bar gets reduced by "-x" amount of damage. A very small gripe but for me a positive number just seems more intuitive. Other than that, awsome game! There is just so much that this game does right, if it weren't for DMCA I'd donate the shit out of these developers :D
the popup also appears when you pick up health, weapon energy, or bolts. in those contexts, it would absolutely make no sense to display a negative number, so displaying a negative number when dealing damage is to make these popups distinct from each other. they're also different colors, but its good to avoid building conveyance just around color.
am i insane or is this boss piss easy? like before i had trouble but now i learned the pattern and i can beat him first try everytime edit: also hes my favorite so far, i love his army aesthetic and his salute lol
yes it very easy as megaman as all you need is jump charge then move out of the bomb then repeat,an entirely different beast as Bass though mainly due to not able to move while firing

That guy always acts like he *owns* Mega Man, wouldn't surprise if fan projects get DMCA'd because of him alone in the future
A little disturbing that his arms fall off just before he explodes… but still pretty cool.
