I mean if you see the streams on twitch, you pretty much played the whole game like really, the game is finished to an estimate of 70-80%, a 10% would be to complete the last level and that other 20% would be the final stages and final bosses, from which they've shown nothing but the sillouhette of each "corrupter" or something like that. but TL,DR: game's almost finished

@@DekkarJr , I would actually like to have the ability to have this game worked on even more so that the areas that are from previous Mega/Rock Man X games, as well as enemies, sub-bosses, and bosses, can be put into this game, and maybe a few brand new sub-bosses as well. I also want a playable Axl, Layer, Palette, and Alia as well, as having multiple unique characters, and the things that I had mentioned, would all make this game have a LOT of replay value, and even more so with special armors that they can all have as well. Finally, although I would not consider this game as a Mega/Rock Man X9, I WOULD hope that Capcom green lights this game, as well as allows it to be made, as it would be a multi-platform hit, as well as a damn successful foray into the Metroidvania genre for this franchise from Capcom.
@@paxhumana2015 Axl isn't really possible because this game is basically an alternate timeline. The split is Megaman X5, since this game is sort of supposed to replace Megaman X6. So Axl doesn't exist, the stuff with the nightmare virus hasn't happened, and neither have the incidents with Red Alert or Lumine. I wasn't a fan of X6 and felt X7 was really flawed, so I'm not exactly shedding tears for the idea of this game replacing them in the timeline. Even if said timeline is entirely fanmade. I will mourn for the Jakob Elevator, though, because I really liked that tune.
i've said something similar on the video that was just the intro stage, but i have to say it again: this is the most lore-accurate representation of X i've ever seen, moreso than the actual canon. as far as i'm concerned, this game should be considered canon. hearing the other characters refer to X as captain X, seeing him lead and fight alongside them, this is such a perfect representation of everything we've been told X is supposed to be. we're told *and* shown here who X is and i really can't get enough of the way he's handled here. he used to be one of my favorite characters when i was younger and this approach is really tapping into that again. this is incredible
Yeah, X gets treated as a buck private across most of the series when he even used to lead the Maverick Hunters in the second game. You can feel the RESPEC from here, he's a high-ranking officer and treated as such. X is written as the worrying and carying yet brave and fierce character he is. I love when that soldier asks if they're all going to die and he says "No one is going to die today. Get to the escape pods" and then just goes to the core like a boss. Probably the best writing for X we have seen since MHX.
Yeah, I absolutely adore how X is written here. He's just the compassionate, heroic, and just robot that he's supposed to be around him, and I just love how he's written. Very excited to see Zero's writing here, too.

I've been following this fan game since its very inception back when I was in college...around 10 years? Oh man, time is weird lol. To see it like this, leaves me speechless. It was basically an idea when I first came across it, just music tracks Dominic Ninmark scored most of (that got me hooked to this game). Now it's just about fully fleshed out and it's just...spectacular. You guys haven't cut any corners whatsoever with this and it shows in spades. I can only offer my sincerest thank you and my absolute respect for continuing this project, no matter the length it took to get to where it is now. I look forward to the day it's fully released to experience it for ourselves. That said, if Capcom decided to pick this up as an official title to the X line up, that would be a dream come true I would imagine!
I remember back when capcom decided to pick up Street Fighter X Mega Man as an official game. The game was being developed as a fan game, and instead of capcom issuing a cease and desist, they hired the guy to complete it. That’d be amazing if capcom does the same with this. This game deserves the worlds eyes on it.
@@8-bitBishop hopefully they don't shut down the project, since they're mostly publishers for games rn, i would be shocked If they actually don't put an end to it. It's a pretty great effort for the game to get this far in 10 years.

The addition of Iron Horn is really cool. I problem I have with the original X/Zero series is how all Mavericks based on animals are evil/ turn evil in the games. Seeing an animal reploid who is unambiguously good is a breath of fresh air.
Agreed, thought it was cool when X and Zero interacted with Storm Eagle and such before they became mavericks in Day of Sigma, cool to see more like this in MMXC.
Well. The idea with the Mavericks. They don't turn evil out of the blue. Most of them are infected by a virus that reprograms them. Most cases against their will. The Main exception being the repliforce. They had Sigma Minions infiltrated in their army. So is a 50/50.
@@DanielAyy in the X1 manga Zero and Storm Eagle were also buddies/friendly rivals in that, and Armored Armadillo just lived by samurai Bushido so he had to honor Sigma and challenge X. It was a great manga for a game adaptation for sure, I prefer it too when the Mavericks aren't just mindless bosses to kill 👍
Damn, the developer did an unbelievably great job with this. The original Mega Man X has been one of my all time favorite games since I was 8, I'm 34 now, and I still love to play it. But this... This thing is just incredible. The level of detail, the action, music, everything about this is just awesome.
Man this might be my most anticipated game of all time. Sometimes it's hard to believe just because of all the years that have gone by, but you guys really have been working hard all this time and it DEFINITELY shows. Just gorgeous, creative, fluid and awesome from top to bottom.
It's such a minor detail but I love how when you leave the base, the other hunters help you clear out some of the enemies at the entrance. Small things like this really bring the Maverick Hunters alive since up until now you only ever really saw X and Zero doing everything.
@@cloudycloud7666 Pointless as it may seem, little details like that count a little bit towards world-building, IMHO. Sure, they might have basic AI, but at least they're taking a more proactive role instead of merely waiting to be rescued, like in past games. Yes, the Hunters are stranded on an unknown island, where the Mavericks have taken control and thoroughly wish to destroy them, but even though the SA Hunters X and Zero will be the main offence, the rest of the Hunters won't stay idly by and leave them to do all of the work, at least this time around.
@@cloudycloud7666 Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but I'll indulge you a little. A basic story usually involves a protagonist (or a small band of them) fighting against an antagonist (or several), in pursuit of a goal, lofty or otherwise. But it's not always just their story alone. Even though NPCs (non-player characters) usually get relegated to background duty, being nothing more than just means for either idle talk or random missions / fetch quests, sometimes even they have their own stories to tell that could provide the hero(es) with more ideas on how to gain more ground in the main quest, or perhaps the NPCs might offer a certain degree of direct (or even indirect) assistance to stave off the enemies ahead. And that's only a small portion of world-building, IMHO. I haven't gotten into subjects like a realm's lore, though. But I would recommend that you play games like CrossCode, by Radical Fish. There's some interesting aspects to it, and I would like to see similar aspects in this game, despite it being a Rockman / Mega Man game.

Having the boss attack throughout the level, like you did with the tentacles in older clip, is such a good idea. Really adds to the world building. Without the MB restriction of a SNES cart, you can go ham with a bunch of unique assets and animations.

I strongly disagree with this statement when great fan projects from all over exist, from Mega Man Maker to the many projects being made on Megamix engine, to the likes of PureSabe's romhacks. that's not even taking into account games like 20XX and the like taking up the mantle. If anything, Megaman X Corrupted is a bit of a meme because of the absurdly long dev cycle.
So many new things, animations, sprites, what a way to start the new year, god bless you JKB, you didn't just make my day, you made my year already. You didn't have to go this hard, but you did, and I hope everyone here appreciates that as much as I do.
What a perfect way to start off 2023! This game looks almost flawless! Definitely will be the best and most replayable Megaman game of all time! 🏆 (Edit) : Adding Chill Penguin to the lore was a beautiful touch and callback to the X games! This is amazing!

The way you actually clear a path and then they follow you helping you was pretty insane. Everything clearly on point with the original with an added touch of polish but not enough to take away from the experience. This is masterful, this is all I ever really want from my ol' favorite series' like Megaman, Castlevania, Final Fantasy etc.

The level design is no joke. This game is been made for true Megaman X players because after watching this video y realize the difficulty is really high. Awesome work!
Love how you've built a metroidvania world and yet it still feels very much like Mega Man X. I also like how Puffer was involved in the level even before you meet him.

We waited more than ten years for it, whats a few more years? Its not like Capcom is doing anything good with the franchise, lets all just be glad that some fellow megaman x fans took it on theirselves to make something for us and lets be honest here this looks more than amazing. It has surpassed the its just a "fan game" capcom can eat their hearts out
This looks incredible. The music, the sprites, the environments and enemies, it all looks so damn good. This is shaping up to be the best Megaman X game ever.
The sheer love and effort put into this is enough to make me include it as an official X game in my head. There's more love here than Capcom has shown Megaman in decades. It's the first game in god knows how long to make me feel like a kid in the 90's again.
I love this and thank you for years of hard work. Incredible! The only thing I wish you hadn't changed is Strike's dialogue. In earlier videos, it seemed to showcase his personality a little. Now he's just spouting old comic book villain lines, "YoU hAVe tO dEFeat mE oR eVerYOne dIEs lololol" In the older versions, he began with: "So this is the legendary Maverick Hunter, X. I was wondering when you'd finally arrive." Strike's anticipation is palpable. He's aware of X's storied reputation, almost is if he'd studied it, yet remains arrogant about the prospect of fighting. The remark is jeering (about time you got here), a little admiring, and impatient. Then X says, "I assume you're the one behind this?" and Strike goes: "Maybe. Maybe not." like he could care less about a plan or strategy, he's just burning to fight a legend. "What matters is you're here and I finally get to PLAY with you." He's definitely horny to fight X. In fact, Strike has so much detachment from anything but his desire to challenge X he doesn't even remember / care to give his own name. Now instead, we get: "Hullo X, I'm Strike. Here's my plan." then he proceeds to explain what we would've seen with our own eyes. It just makes Strike--who I initially gauged to be a narcissistic psychopath---into a grab bag whatever villain. I'm not saying the original dialogue didn't borrow elements from other, well known tropes but at least it wasn't so flatline as this. I liked the older version of Plasma Puffer's dialogue as well. He's being coy (ba dum tss!) and makes a stupid pun, to which X just sort of stares at him "....." I thought it was funny. Its almost like X was thinking: "Ok wow. This guy has definitely shit his circuits... Time for shooting." But with the new dialogue we get an attempted therapy session? C'mon man. Revert to the older dialogue, please :-D it had more personality.

Absolutely do NOT release this until you feel that it is ready! Supreme love, care, and detail of this caliber cannot be rushed. Also kudos to your sound designer. I love how it mixes (at least to my ears) the best parts of the X1 and X3 sound styles to astounding effect.
@@asmith9554 Unless you are assuming that they'll somehow receive one I've seen nor heard of any C&D over this game from Capcom. Capcom is usually fairly relaxed about people making fan content of their IPs. Unless they are making their own title they let people create as they please and outside of the abysmal Mega Man X Dive they couldn't give a hoot about MMX (sadly) so its free publicity for an IP as far as Capcom is probably concerned with it.
They shut that one down because they literally were planning to remake RE2 themselves. They DID assist in some capacity with Daymare 1998 though based on the credits in that game. Not sure how you came to the conclusion they don't care about Mega Man when X Dive keeps getting supported and Battle Network has a collection dropping. You're just spoiled from annual releases which hasn't been a thing for almost 2 decades.
I was literally just thinking about MMX: Corrupted two nights ago, this is wild! Also, every time I see the intro stage opening with X getting armored up and swooping down, it gives me chills. Incredible stuff!

You're probably right, that's about my personal estimate based on observations, dev comments, and streams shown.

@@beinyourguard but not great as this game
i've said something similar on the video that was just the intro stage, but i have to say it again: this is the most lore-accurate representation of X i've ever seen, moreso than the actual canon. as far as i'm concerned, this game should be considered canon. hearing the other characters refer to X as captain X, seeing him lead and fight alongside them, this is such a perfect representation of everything we've been told X is supposed to be. we're told *and* shown here who X is and i really can't get enough of the way he's handled here. he used to be one of my favorite characters when i was younger and this approach is really tapping into that again. this is incredible
Yeah like he's been a captain ever since X2 but the only you see him giving orders is in the X5 bad ending, wild
Oh and funnily enough, X7, which gameplay aside, is pretty well
Yeah, X gets treated as a buck private across most of the series when he even used to lead the Maverick Hunters in the second game.

@@Amanofan7777 Poor X is having war flashbacks about his first mission against a maverick boss, and Guin is just going on about food...
It's such a minor detail but I love how when you leave the base, the other hunters help you clear out some of the enemies at the entrance. Small things like this really bring the Maverick Hunters alive since up until now you only ever really saw X and Zero doing everything.
Why do you love minor as hell details like that!? They are pointless!
@@cloudycloud7666
Pointless as it may seem, little details like that count a little bit towards world-building, IMHO.
@@SaviourV what's this "World Building" you speak of?
@@cloudycloud7666
Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but I'll indulge you a little.

It's the first game in god knows how long to make me feel like a kid in the 90's again.
I love this and thank you for years of hard work. Incredible! The only thing I wish you hadn't changed is Strike's dialogue.
In earlier videos, it seemed to showcase his personality a little. Now he's just spouting old comic book villain lines, "YoU hAVe tO dEFeat mE oR eVerYOne dIEs lololol"
In the older versions, he began with: "So this is the legendary Maverick Hunter, X. I was wondering when you'd finally arrive." Strike's anticipation is palpable. He's aware of X's storied reputation, almost is if he'd studied it, yet remains arrogant about the prospect of fighting. The remark is jeering (about time you got here), a little admiring, and impatient.
Then X says, "I assume you're the one behind this?"
and Strike goes: "Maybe.
Time for shooting."
But with the new dialogue we get an attempted therapy session? C'mon man. Revert to the older dialogue, please :-D it had more personality.
Holy crap. My body is ready for this game.

This is just a masterpiece. I've never seen a game reflecting so much dedication and love for the character! Everything is just perfect, amazing work!
I was literally just thinking about MMX: Corrupted two nights ago, this is wild! Also, every time I see the intro stage opening with X getting armored up and swooping down, it gives me chills. Incredible stuff!
So many references to previous Mega Man games! To enemies, attacks and level design. So much love has been put into this game, it's astounding.
milodon fight was fun to watch
Megaman X + Original story + Upgraded 16 bits graphics +
Improved overall game system + DOGGO SIDE QUEST = PERFECTION ❤
Doggo side quest rocks! Could he be Frienda? Friender from the Casshan Robot series? That would really get interesting!
AND HERE IS DAMN RIGHT
PASS THE WORD TO MAKE THIS 14 YEARS WORTH EVEN LESS TIME HE NEEDDS
THE WHOLE TEAM NEEDS TO BETTER
This is just spectacular. The amount of action in every screen is absurd. The game looks so fast-paced and beyond peak Mega Man. Be very proud of this.
Watching this live was one of the most beautiful experiences of all time. Every time a new system or mechanic or the dog was shown the chat popped off. I can't wait for the full release!
This is probably the first fan game to REALLY get my heart beating and my blood pumping
I’m just in awe with this entire video and how far this project has come along. This is exactly what I visioned Megaman X 10 would be since they went back to 8bit for Megaman 9 & 10. You and the other folks on the team working on this project have done a PHENOMENAL job, keep up the great work.
you skipped megaman x9
And megaman 11 doesnt look like megaman 10, its just got a glowup
@@azurecorviknight4189 my fault, y’all are right. I got excited typing that and didn’t realize lol
It's been over 10 years since I first saw this game, and I'm still waiting for it to be released.
Thank you JKB Group for creating this masterpiece, and I look forward to seeing it released one day.
The JKB team is still working on the game and it's been 16 years, and I think a lot of people are getting tired of waiting for over a decade, but you have to be patient. In my opinion, I think the game is more than 70-80 per cent developed.
You're probably right, that's about my personal estimate based on observations, dev comments, and streams shown. Just last night there was a stream showing off some new stuff, showing off a pair of new minibosses (Sparking Scorpio stage and Hurricane Hoatzin stage) and the very much in progress layout for Hoatzin stage. I think one day is getting closer.
@@AmatsuDarkfyre Yes. I watched a stream that went up over the weekend. I saw the Skyway map being mad, which looks to be in the early stages of production, and the Skyway minibosses being made. It certainly looks like the game is getting closer to completion.
Everything about this screams passion, dedication and soul. You guys are making something truly amazing. This is the game I'm most anticipating and it's not even close. I haven't had such a huge smile on my face than watching these update videos. Keep up the amazing work, we're all at the edge of our seats.
This is my most anticipated game ever, from the looks of gameplay you’ve mastered the Mega Man X experience
The Side-Quests and teleporters really give a huge Metroidvania feel to the game, awesome!
Xtroidvania
@@CodeXCDM Mega Metroidvania
The very way the game starts screams SotN. X starts all overpowered in the intro stage, then gets stripped of all it's power and has to start a journey to recover the full power of its armor, pretty much like Alucard does.
@@elbitxo5945 also a nice touch, but i wonder what that NPC meant when she said the U. Armor was 61% repaired, i mean, how will repairing it work for us? Maybe finding Data Disks or some other items? Well, either way have a feeling this will be thrilling nonetheless
Megatroidvania would be to correct word for it.
Literally can't wait for this game to come out. Been waiting for years with such excitement. I find myself coming back to watch this video every so often. Amazing work and I am sure it will be the best game in the series once it's finished.
This is a complete masterpiece, the holy grail for Megaman fans, that's it.
I WANT IT FOR 3DS!!!!!
@@chimuoma390 It would be cool playing it in 3-D.
I'm digging Siren and Iron Horn's designs. I like that we see some animal like Reploids genuinely working as Maverick Hunter without turning bad.
I think the OCs are cringe. Siren looks like a Steven Universe character, and good-guy animal reploids give furry vibes. The mavericks have always been non-humanoid to represent their savagery. Leave it to a fangame to miss the point.
@@jewymcjewjew9939 None of that matters, still an excellent fangame
@@jewymcjewjew9939 Sigma and Vile are two Mavericks immediately off the top of my head that weren't animals and were also infinitely more savage than the majority of the animal form designs, Vile being the number one X hater of all time. There's also the three X Hunters.
@@Milez1337 I didn't say Mavericks couldn't be humanoids. As you point out, the elite Mavericks are always humanoid, because they are more "evolved."
@@jewymcjewjew9939 ok...? Didn't really ask for your opinion dude. Just cuz she has dark skin and different colored hair doesn't make her a SU character. Lol Iron Horn looks like any other animal reploids/maverick, I don't see the furry angle at all. Also that seems like your projecting a lot of that. Doesn't mean any of that is true.
Congratulations. I accompanied your livestreams, video and community during all these years. I'm glad that your team put all that effort making a fan-made MMX game, we can see all of that on the game's details. I hope that the more than almost 10-year development can provide us with a fullfilling experience.
Capcom, take a good look on this, because this is the result inspired by the one of your best and long-forgotten series.
I really hope Capcom doesn't look at this, because recently they just cancelled a Code Veronica X project, and wayy before RE2 make was made, they cancelled the original project too
More than 10 years actually
@@evilkeima They've never had a problem with Megaman fan games in the past. They even endorsed Street Fighter x Megaman & Mega Man Maker just released v1.8.
@@evilkeima they cancelled the Code Veronica X project when the developer itself starting to ask for a donation for the game development
That's all I have heard of
@@krishnaputrayudhistira5519 That's fair, maybe because the game turned for-profit that's why they had to take it down. I'd be pretty bummed if MMX:Corrupted got taken down because I've been following this for a long time since I was still in Gradeschool
And at 9:55, it hit me: The tones of the sounds the text boxes make as they are filling in is in the same key as the background music. Absolute perfection.
The instant this masterpiece is released, All of us need to save it for posterity. 🥂
if they can make a physical and put it on etsy. it would be perfect
@ThePieceofEden Dear god I would love that! Make this run on Dreamcast hardware please.
@@ThePieceofEden capcom would come
After his ass HARD
@@ThePieceofEden making it physical would mean money involved, immediately being susceptible of legal actions for unauthorized IP use even if there's no profit. Sadly, is something we won't see.
@@elbitxo5945 yeah... Except etsy has so many fan made games turned into physical media. Just have someone entirely unrelated to the project do it and they won't get in trouble.
Capcom should pull a Sega with Sonic Mania and hire you and your team, this looks absolutely incredible, can't wait to experience it
They probably will when the game’s completed, if it ever will. I mean, this game has been in development since I was 2.
@@twaggytheatricks4960 this captures everything I wanted as a kid in the 90's growing up with the X series. I do hope to get to play it soon and it would be even cooler if Capcom officially sanctioned it.
@nunyabeezwax6758 I know they won't.... But I can dream 😆
good idea if they want a game that takes 30 years to complete
Just because your easily impressed by it doesn't mean Capcom has the same low standards.
AB-SOL-UTE-LY AMAZING!!! This is easily any X's fans dream come true!! The sequeal ALL of us wanted!!!
This is, truly, looking amazing!
Edit: it looks like it has almost this Metroid feel to it combined with an epic Legend of Zelda sized map - not that that's a bad thing. It's great!
I want to play the game right now! I'd pay $30.
The flow of this game is fast paced and smooth. It also gets your heart racing with the tense moments and the music! I love it!

One of my FAVORITE things is the Maverick Select screen.... This looks SICK. I'M SOOOOO PUMPED. A Megaman X game hasn't gotten my blood boiling in awhile, and I daresay, you have just brought the temperature back up.
I'll be looking forward to this.
The amount of passion in this project surpasses the one seemed even on AAA projects... Thank you guys for doing your really best on it. 💪
AAA projects are usually made in a year or two, this has been in the works for 14 years so it damn well better

That intro is so fucking awesome dude. The whole thing is great, but my gawd. That intro explains things to a X fan. For real.
It's crazy to think how much a fan project such as this has grown and been polished to this degree! That takes a lot of dedication!
As someone who absolutely loved both Mega Man and Sonic as a kid, seeing X ball up and blast through those pipes makes me very happy
Some of them got me thinking of Scrambled Egg.
@@sonicboy678 well now I'm just hungry
It's amazing how the first minute of a gameplay, you can just FEEL this game is going to be an absolute scorcher.
That tune in the first stage would rank among the top 10 tunes from Mega Man X-games.
Dellusional.
That's crazy. Looking great so far.
Wish you guys the very best with this project.
Very excited for that. The boss selection screen is looking amazing, what a good way to start the year
Yeah,a really amazing way to start.
Dude, how on earth are you nailing everything about this game? Even down to the music, you've taken so much from the different series and have created something that I'd dare to say is better than anything capcom has put out for megaman. . . I've been lurking since you started and am astonished at what you've done, keep it up!

That "61% repaired" with just 2 mavericks defeated pretty much confirms my hypothesis that strike is going to steal the ultimate armor in a mid-game sequence after you defeat the 4th maverick
Let's hope it's an *attempt to steal,* rather than a successful attempt.
I think I speak for most of us when I say that we would like to keep the Ultimate Armour by any means necessary, even if it means fighting a stronger Strike.
@@SaviourV It would be cool if you could stop him from stealing it by doing an emergency teleport to the base and fighting him. Though, I suspect it's unavoidable.

and then we beat the hell out of strike but the suit is DAMAGED
well after we defeat 8th maverick, the suit is fully repaired LOL
this purpose is to NERF and make the games harder a little bit, we all know what the suit can do...
Damn that is so pretty! X is by far my favorite game of all times. the nostalgia is real with this one. and youve managed capture the essence. I think the music is a bit to slow and bouncy but the right sounds are there. I wouldve leaned more to the side of metal to something named "corrupted". This jazzy synthwave is a bit too cute ^^ good tho. Overall incredibly beautiful creation! cant wait to play it :)
This is absolutely what MegaMan Fans were waiting for. Action platformer with RPG elements. Sincerely, this is an incredible job. I'm ready for hours of it !

@jose rodriguez are you a lil triggered? Cant handle even mild criticism of a game you havent even played yet?
@@deathdealer312 I get what you are saying on how it feels out of place, but with its inclusion there is a new surplus of content that can be added into the standard MegaMan X formula. These all together can make for a nice combination of the Action-Platformer styles of Classic Megaman X and the RPG aspects of the Zero and ZX games. For waiting ever so long for a new X game, I see this inclusions as a net positive. I hope you can still enjoy the game when (if) it comes out despite these aspects.
It’s so great to see that there are still many passionate Megaman fans creating high-quality projects. Even if the series isn’t releasing installments as much anymore
