      There are several which became "A Few (More) Minutes of Fun"... and that will continue to happen I'm sure, as I often lose track of time when I'm creating! So happy that you are enjoying every minute that comes!! Thank you so much for your company on this creative journey.

    Distress Oxides get a lot of attention by artists. Your use of Distress inks has reminded me to pull them out and show some love. Thanks

      Oh definitely... I've always loved the translucence of the Distress Inks. I use the Inks all the time by themselves, and I enjoy using the Oxides with the Inks for various effects. But I almost never use purely Oxides... Have fun digging out your Distress Inks!

      So happy you enjoyed it! There's nothing new about these techniques (most of them I picked up from Tim Holtz himself - designer of Distress Inks and these stencils - in his generous online demos)... but sometimes it's easy to forget how effective some simple inking can be. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.

      So happy you found some new ideas here. I can't claim them as my own (I picked them up way back from Tim Holtz, the creator of Distress Inks and designer of these stencils... and so much more!)... but it's always good to remind ourselves of how effective some simple inking can be. Thank you so much for watching and for commenting.

    Hello Alison… STENCILS for the WIN!!! I love watching you play with tags - inks, sprays, stencils, pastes, crackle, etc. hoping to find a few minutes of fun on Friday as we’re having another family weekend while the weather is nice… although… forecast is calling for lots of RAIN…
    I just love the yellow blossoms with the tonal green leaves and the reverse effect is really cool… Thanks for sharing your creativity and inspiration especially while being extra busy this month teaching Fodder School 3… Have a wonderful week / weekend! 🙂

      Not only Fodder School, but my brother and his family are here for ten days, so I'm having family time too! Invite your family to play too... then you can spend as long as you like in the craft room while it's raining!!
      Sometimes my stencils go for months without being used, so it's been a real joy giving them a good workout again. Happy family/play/art time to you!

    Was wondering if you ever SEAL your stamped tags/cards/pages? I’m worried about my junk journals getting WET and the ink reactivating?

    • @w0rdsandp1ctures
      @w0rdsandp1ctures  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I really don't seal things... I'm not trying to create for posterity here - it's the process that matters to me as much as, if not more than, the results. That said, none of my tags are in danger of getting wet where I keep them - unless there's a flooding disaster of some kind, at which point I'll have more important things to worry about than wet tags! Micro Glaze is pretty much the only thing you can use to seal Distress Inks without changing the look of the inks, or reactivating them as you're sealing. But I mostly use the Micro Glaze for effects and techniques, not for sealing!
      So happy you are enjoying the videos - thank you for watching and commenting.

      I'm afraid I'm unlikely to be organised enough to line the inks up in an orderly fashion while I'm actually working - my brain is busy with other things... but the products I've used are always listed in the description below the video. (And you could always go back ten seconds to hear the name again... I do try always to remember to say each of them, though I know it's not a 100% guarantee... but that's why I do the listings in the descriptions.)

    Hi Alison, I've noticed that you seem to get alot more ink on your projects compared to when I do it and I was wondering if you reink your ink pads before filming?

    • @w0rdsandp1ctures
      @w0rdsandp1ctures  หลายเดือนก่อน

      No... I only re-ink when a pad is really running very dry. I've only done it a handful of times over the course of more than a decade... Maybe it's making sure the blending tool sponge is fully loaded up? Can't think of any other obvious suggestions, other than the amount of pressure you apply it with. Hope that gives you something to experiment with.

      That's the Nordic stencil - THS070... as you can see from all the paint on it, I love it and use it a lot! Happy you enjoyed seeing the colours and layers building, thank you.

    Hi, where do you get your size 8 tags from. Can’t find them anywhere. TIA

    • @w0rdsandp1ctures
      @w0rdsandp1ctures  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Ranger Inkssentials line is available pretty widely worldwide (and especially if you're in the US)... Not knowing what country you're in, I can't really be specific, but if you google for" Ranger Inkssentials tags", you should come up with some online retailers in your country (and always better to buy from them than from eg. Amazon if you possibly can, to support the craft industry).
      The Ranger tags are not cheap though... I did have a good source for buying the tags in bulk (the same quality as the Ranger tags, but so much cheaper), but sadly that independent UK online craft retailer closed down earlier this year, unable to continue competing with the likes of Amazon. I've got quite a lot to keep me going, but then I'm going to have to find a new supplier!

      Oh, well there are loads of independent online craft retailers... they may have the Ranger ones and/or other makes so at each store just search for "tags" to start with. You can try
      Stampers Grove - www.stampersgrove.co.uk/
      Art from the Heart - www.afth.co.uk/
      That's Crafty - www.thatscrafty.co.uk/
      Country View Crafts - www.countryviewcrafts.co.uk/index.asp
      And there are many more... As I said, Craft Obsessions where I used to get them has sadly closed down, but I hope that helps.

    Nice, yes sure but you must have about £100 pounds worth of supplies on your desk there. A luxury joy for sure.

      We all choose our luxuries... I don't drink alcohol, smoke, wear make-up or perfume, buy clothes except for necessities (the top I'm wearing in the video I bought more than 30 years ago, and it's still going strong), I don't have or run a car - I use public transport, I haven't been away on holiday for a decade or more, and have no children or husband to worry about. I spend what money I can spare on books and art supplies and music... and I have been gathering art supplies for over a decade, so yes, I have quite a lot. They make me happy. If that's a luxury, so be it.

      That’s a rather cutting remark. Many of us have art supplies, that we have saved for, purchased second hand, or bought one at a time, as we can afford them. This lady gives freely of her time and resources to create these video tutorials for people she will never meet or never know. If you can’t say something nice, there is really no need to comment.
