I really love twin 3, and don’t get why people bash it. It’s honestly all about the filter. It’s like having volcano inside a virtual analog synth, and it’s crazy. Thanks for the ridiculously comprehensive overview Jakob. I enjoyed this thoroughly, and I even learned a few things.
Mostly the sound due to the filter algorithms, even a tiny amount of resonance (peak knob) makes a big difference. I generally use the hard or hollow options and then wind in 12-15dB of drive on one of the high frequency ones. Then there's the modulation section. Makes lfo tool (or similar) completely redundant and arguably has 10x the possibilities.. Oh, APF. That too 😉😎
Pro tip: You can force the LFOs to go much higher in speed by adding more steps. 1Hz on the LFO means one complete "cycle" through all the steps. So add maximum steps and it works as a multiplier. Some nice sounds you've made there btw! Congratulations! I'll hopefully have a new set of 100 presets added to Twin 3 at some point this year (that's 100 more "bM" tagged sounds for y'all).
Thanks a lot mr J Haq - I been enjoying your uploads for years now😊 Your are my favourite advertiser regarding Au3 plug ins. Looking forward to the years ahead with plenty of your content - tack så mycket🇸🇪🇩🇰
Dear Jakob! First of all, thank you! You probably remember me. I did not buy any synths app since 2022. Your shoebox video is the first in my list of my saved videos. But I came to an end with many things concerning music. All but iPad music. This video I saved on the day of publishing. Last night I watched it step by step. And this had consequences for me. Not on anything concerning hardware. This was the easy part. But my conclusion after watching it were to install your presets and not to dig any further. This due to my age and condition. If I would it would lead to a situation nobody likes. Sad for me but everybody, even you, or anybody else will come in this situation sooner or later. There is an end to anything sometimes. On one hand sad and on the other great. Despite of all I am thankful to even come in this situation. I admire musicians like you and to share their experience on YT. My mistake I made was not to backup my AUM project files from 2021 before I bought the new iPad. Shit happens 😂. But I give the advice to everyone to take care of your health, even if you feel healthy. I am facing now the consequences of my lifestyle which was anything but healthy but I blame nobody for it. I also do not blame myself. To think what if I had done it differently is a waste of time and leads to a bad mood. I enjoy day by day with the situation I face. And everyone is unique and will take their situation accordingly. Anyways thank you 🍀❤️.
you can use an ipad pro with the magic keyboard, that has a lovely touchpad expensive, but works great apple isn't cheap no need for a mouse and being rude go and give the developer some feedback instead cheers
A thought occurred to me as I started watching this video that maybe you know the answer to. The price for the fabfilter products offered for ipad is a fraction of the cost of the same things for ma os and windows. Are the ios apps paired down versions in any way?
On that first example it looks like they have a typo. The last slider I assume should say Length but is is spelled Lenght. Maybe you can pass that on to them.
I like FF plugins and I own most of them on iPadOS. But to be blunt, their UI's are suboptimal. Many times the touch targets are obscure or simply too small to accurately use them. EDIT: You just made the same criticism. Good call.
I love this synth for how good it sounds but it’s so very fiddly, it would really be nice if we could zoom in or something. I use a pen, maybe a mouse would solve that. By the way you forgot the arp =) Moo!
I'll never understand using touchscreens to do actually important work. So imprecise, no texture or feedback. If I don't want to use a mouse and keyboard I'd much rather use physical hardware that I can truly interact with
Such a great overview. I had tried Twin 3, but was also unhappy with the touch controls. Your rant resonates xD. 🐘🧹 (The overall description of a synth rewarding exploration in sound design, and not defaulting to normaled connections, reminds me of why I’ve been so happy in Bitwig land. I‘ll need to try if I can combine an iPad with BW.)
Hey, fellow bitwig user and iPad enthusiast here. If you’re a Mac user, you can make use of the IDAM protocol that is built into the Mac and iPad by default. This will allow the iPad to send and receive midi as well as send audio. Makes the iPad work really well as a hardware synth. Unfortunately I cannot make the clocks sync properly so I don’t think using the iPad as a sequencer is very viable. I wish you luck with integrating the iPad into your setup.
@@privatedomicile6627 Huh, thank you! I hadn't thought to actually _integrate_ the iPad, I was just imagining using "Extend Display to iPad" and then operating a Bitwig window in the iPad - but actual audio + MIDI sounds way sweeter, especially given some nice software keyboards on iOS. Will try tonight, thanks for alerting me to the possibility!
I was thinking the same thing as @privatedomicile6627 after readin GB your comment. 👍 IDAM will provide you with a stereo pair of Audio I/O’s. That way you can truly intergrate some of the iPad synths into your desktop/laptop workflow.

Just purchased this synth, and it sounds amazing. Excellent video showcasing its different features. Your pack is also 👍Great job, my friend!

I practically ditched pro q3 for volcano3. Should have done it a long time before I did.. Maybe I need to look into t3 a little more
@@arielleandrist Can you elaborate on why you did?

Great video! The demos sound awesome.
Thanks bro!
Moo on the island at the start, 8 bit moo song at the end…….❤
I thought Mynth was the modulation king, but wow this is amazing 😍

Honest video. Good work! Thank you & thumbs up.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much for your work. I personally love your approach and patches are my most sought after. Thank you 🙏
Thank you for the praise and thank you for your support! 👊
Holy detailed review!!!! Great job!
Much appreciated, thank you for watching! 🤍🤍🤍
Thanks again for a brilliant video 👍🏼 Really dig your style.
Music making is my passion, sound design my hobby.
Thank you! 🤍
It’s a Fab Man Ting 👍
💯
Love you man!
Man i couldn’t help but laugh at the 7:45 mark. That caught me totally off guard. 😂😂
Hey Jakob. Hope all is well. Any recommendations for places to visit in Sweden?
Hello, which version of ipad are you using? :)
you can use an ipad pro with the magic keyboard, that has a lovely touchpad
expensive, but works great
apple isn't cheap
no need for a mouse and being rude
go and give the developer some feedback instead
cheers
Or the Logitech version which is less than half the price and just as good.
if you create more lfo steps you can go up to 4k hz Jakob. Cheers

Yeah I do that a lot, misspell I mean. See It’s not FabFilters fault. Those faders tags can be customised by the user. Longpress for renaming prompt.
(Back from the doctor, who says you can watch your video again)
You’ve got the best doctor! 💋

I’ve never heard anyone say they reach for Twin when they want to make a patch. That doesn’t mean it’s not a good synth

Don’t use a mouse with ipad, use the apple magic track pad..

@@schubertludwig that way of extending the display works really well with bigwigs dual screen setups. Honestly it’s whichever works better for you.
