That 1st Red V11 LeMans is now owned by me. Still looks and sounds just as amazing.

I had a V 11 sport. A dropdead sexy machine. Gorgeous. Monstrous Torque. unfortunately, the most uncomfortable motorcycle in the universe. After a 45 minute ride, I almost needed to be life flighted to the nearest emergency trauma hospital where they would hopefully have a priest waiting. It killed my knees to sit in that position stretching for those clip on‘s.. I tried lower foot pegs, normal flat 7/8” handlebars mounted in purches I attached to the upper triple clamp, and a Corbin seat. The lower foot pegs helped a little bit, the slightly higher handlebars helped a little bit, but the Corbin seat because it had a humped area as it met the gas tank put my balls to sleep. That is not an attempt at humor, that is a fact. I finally gave up after two years of trying to civilize the riding position, and I bought myself a guzzi Norge, That was in 2007. Here we are in 2020, I still have the Norge.. it is like a Cadillac compared to that V 11 sports torture rack..
Anyone considering buying one of these machines, and I’m sure there are many many low mileage ones out there because you can’t ride them for more than an hour at a time, take it for a two hour ride. If you don’t need to be rushed to the local emergency room and have a drip of morphine while you are placed in an Induced coma by the doctors, then go ahead and buy it. None of them have a lot of miles on them. I bought mine used, 3 yrs old with only 2700 miles on the clock..I love the look, I love the engine, I love the torque, but it is a Relic of the Medievil dark ages dungeons when Catholicism ruled europe.Probably designed by a descendent of Vlad the Impaler

I don’t think yoga would help. I have had motorcycles with clip on’s before. I have a road racing background, TZ 250s, TD2B..RDs with magura bars that position the controls at the same location as clip one would.. on the street, I had coupons on my S2,My A1ss,..on several of my street RDs..I was even in 4 24hr road races (4 riders 1 machine) 2 of those machines had clip ons..
I have never had trouble with my knees ever..
there is something about the sport model that is tough on the knees.
I know that having foot pegs with no rubber on them is a no no for comfort. Think about it, car engines are all rubber mounted for a reason. When Norton and Harley went to rubber mounted engines, the public was very happy. Rear wheels of dual sport bikes have rubber vibration absorbing kush blocks inside the rear wheel hubs . but, the same model machine for off-road use only, does not have those rubber vibration of Zorbing blocks in the rear wheel hub. The reason is,Without those blocks on asphalt, the transmission will fail probably, those blocks are not needed when the machine is designed and operated on dirt only..Every firing stroke impact Is partially absorbed by the softer dirt/Andy flexible black rubber tires.
my point is, rubber foot pegs on the sport would definitely help isolate the body from those firing pulses transmitted through the solidly mounted engine to the frame, to the rider..
I mounted foot pegs from the Buell ulysses model motorcycle. They are practically an exact fit, but about 1 1/2 inches lower than the standard sport pegs. That helped, but they did not have rubber on them either.
I believe it’s a combination of the angle the knee is forced to assume / The vibration of the motor, which is nothing like a Harley but the knee is bent and in a stressed position while that vibration goes through the knees..
I love Moto Guzzi..I have owned a Guzzi continuously one model or another since 1979.SP1000-V50 ll-V11 sport- 1200 GT Norge..I have over 190,000 miles behind bars on Guzzi’s..
love em..Simple, basic, reliable, not as refined As the top 4 Japanese motorcycles..You do have to tinker with guzzi’s,Adjusting valves (45 minute minor chore), changing/upgrading start relays, changing oil pressure sensors, all these seem to be a common aggravations with all guzzi’s .. I was a motorcycle mechanic at two different dealerships for years. I do all my own work, even if it’s a warranty item I do it myself.
I have had dozens and dozens of motorcycles. I usually have three or four Street bikes at any one time, and one of them is always a Guzzi..

Oh come on, your review is super funny and well written, but I think you purposely exagerated. Maybe it all depends on how tall you are. I have a v11 and yes, the position is sporty, but I've ridden it for hours no problem. A modern superbike would be much less comfortable

V 11 sport/I had one. I’ve had dozens and dozens of motorcycles. This one is the most uncomfortable motorcycle I ever owned. I don’t know what it is, it is a knee destroyer. I never had trouble with my knees until I bought this motorcycle. I tried everything. I tried a Corbin seat, I tried mounting perches and CB 400 handlebars eliminating the clip on’s, I put buell Ulysses lower foot pegs that bolt right on. I added foot pegs that actually have rubber on them to isolate me from some of the vibes. I don’t know what it is. I don’t know if it’s the solid mounted engine in the frame that is a stressed member, I don’t know if it was the suspension, I just could not get this bike to the point where I could ride it for more than an hour. I love the look, I love the motor, I have had four guzzi’s, Love them, I actually have a norge right now, I wish my Norge ran as well as my V 11 sport .. Great motor. But it is the most uncomfortable motorcycle I ever owned. When you see them for sale, you rarely see them with more than 2000 miles per year on the clock.. if you are considering one of these because of their beauty, take it for at least an hour test ride. Around the block once aint gonna show you..
