I’ve owned a Moto Guzzi Le Mans for 34 years and I’ll never part with it. It’s so easy to ride. The Griso is a lovely bike and if there was room in my garage there’d be one in there tomorrow. I’ve ridden one and I loved it.
Hold onto her mate. There isnt much about the Le Mans to not love. I rode across Australia on my 82 MK111 . Not realy ideal for that distance ride but i loved every minute of every day i rode her. Run good oils and regular changes, carb tunes along with valve set and they never miss a beat.
Man, I've been wanting for someone to talk about the the Griso for ages. Even though they're not being built anymore. I own one, it's my forever bike. Been following SRK for a while now, this video really made my day! Thanks, Sean!!!
Thank you, for those words young man. This is the nicest bike i have ever owned, i did over 14.000 km all over this gorgeous Ireland of ours, last summer. You don't always have to be a hooligan you know, she's with you, whatever you decide, up and back, pure bliss. My girl is an 08 1200 8v. I had a Bandit1200n before that, been riding nearly 40years. This Griso though, is like nothing else, it's a participatory event. The most rewarding thing i've ever thrown my leg over 🙃.
I was riding my handsomely restored 1978 Honda GL-1000 (Blue w/ matching Vetter Windjammer) a few weeks ago across a bridge in Boerne, TX. Boerne is a very small sown west of San Antonio. So I'm cruising across the bridge on HWY 46 above IH-0 West, and coming the other way in the opposite lane was this same Moto Guzzi, same model, color etc. It was so cool to see those two bikes side by side, going in different directions. The MG was headed across the bridge into the small town of Boerne, and the GL was headed out into the hill country for 250 miles of speedy Sunday cruising. We nodded at each other and carried on. I loved that MG the way I loved the first GL I bought as a kid in 1979, a sulfur yellow '76. Some bikes are just born special, and the Griso and the Gen 1 Gold Wing are two of them.
The Griso has always been one of the best looking made. The versions with the 8V motor are the best. Not even sure if they will continue this bike any longer, but would be perfect as a 2nd or 3rd bike. The flagship torch will be carried for Guzzi by the Mondello, which has a thoroughly updated, and now water-cooled, v-twin wrapped in a gorgeous, flowing design. Love these bikes.
One of the best motorcycles made this century, period. I may still buy a Griso, particularly the Guzzi Green ltd edition as featured here, which came stock with a brown seat. A Guzzista...

I was going to buy a Guzzi Stelvio but the closest service center was a two hour drive away and nobody around me works on them. I love the California Concept, but hate the name. I bought a Yamaha Super Tenere instead. Not as sexy, but it works. Back around when the Stelvio first came out, there was a shoot out between all of the adventure bikes. The Stelvio surprised everybody at its highway AND off road capability. Plus it was the only bike with an 8 gallon tank.
I worked with Caleb at SRK to trade my 2014 Moto Guzzi California for a Road King two years ago because there were no local bike mechanics in Pittsburgh to service Moto Guzzis. Good news is that I bought the California on Ebay for $5,700---it was advertised at $9,000. Beautiful, powerful bike but nowhere to fix it locally when I had some minor mechanical issues. One Harley mechanic said: "I love the Guzzis but they are 'orphans' when it comes to time to service or sell them." I'd buy another one if I could find a place to service it.
Glad to see the test drives are still going!! When you sold your business, well, other than you and Jerry Palladino , there was no one else I really like to watch. Word of warning. There are two Griso models. The 1100 from 2005 is bomb proof and a safe buy. The 1200 8v version as featured here came out in 2007 and had major top end problems. They would fail catastrophically and it wasn't a question of if, but when. Same goes for the Stelvio and Norge with the same engine. Piaggio finally admitted the problem and issued flat tappet to rollers conversion kits free to customers with full service history and at cost to everyone else. Sadly by the time this happened it was too late for many bikes that already had metal fragments floating around in the oil from a fault in the hardening process. Even after the modification the damage may already have been done. If you buy one of these from late 2012 you are safe because they sorted it out. It took 5 years but better late than never. Most Internet resources provide good information about this issue and what to look out for, the best of which I think is Guzzitech. A great bike nevertheless.
@@paultruesdale7680 That's not true. Many japanese bikes have had major issues that the manufacturers tried to cover up. If you are curious about the meaning of Moto Guzzi's names, here are a few. "Audace" means "brave", literally "the daring one". It is a slightly obsolete word, with a "classic" gist. There _might_ me a reference to "Gli Audaci", a special forces unit in Fascist times, but I am not sure that was actually Moto Guzzi's intention. "Stelvio" is the name of a mountain pass in the Italian Alps, and the _extremely_ spectacular road leading up to it. There are many YT video showing it. "Norge" is Norwegian for "Norway". In the early days of Moto Guzzi, they decided to drive one of their bike from lake Como to Cape North. This was in the early 20s, so it was quite the enterprise. The success of the trip helped estabilish Moto Guzzi's brand. The modern days Norge nords to the legendary enterprise of the early days. What else? "Breva" is the name of a strong wind regularly blowing on lake Como. "Griso", or "the grey one", as you correctly pointed out, is one of the main characters in "The Bethrotal". "California", "Nevada" and "Florida", with obvious reference to US States, are the names of a series of bikes from the 70s. Hope this satisfies someone's curiosity! Ah, one last detail: the correct way to pronounce the brand's name is approx GOO-TSEE. The _zz_ in Guzzi sounds exactly like it does in PIZZA ;-) .
Great review and ride demo! Your video skill and camera setups are the best. Got a jolt seeing an ice strip in the road, yet that's your regular route and no problem. The 110 HP Griso w/4 valves per head looks like a dream. As long as there's no frame/motor vibration issues, a half fairing could be the deal maker for daylight touring.
Wow, your review was awesome, and then you quoted Ephesians and blew my mind! That took the review over the top! I happily subscribed. I'm looking at one of these and your video may have pushed me over the line into the I gotta have one category! Thanks! Rev 21:5
I had 1969 Moto Guzzi 750 and traded it in for a 1972 California Highway Patrol model Moto Guzzi 1000. Loved both of them, as both were great riding bikes but ended up buying a new house for the family. Sold the bike the bike as I could not afford both and furnish the house along with the big house payments at that time. I had a couple of bikes years later and none of them were as good as my Moto Guzzi. Years later I went to buy a restored 1972, and it cost more than a new one and I don’t like the new styling.
I owned two of the lapd bikes great machines..1973 ..it was 1981. When I bought the 1st one for 350 dollars if you can believe it.. and I had no idea what it was.
used to own a completely original Griso 8v white version. The early ones had issues that were later resolved. It is the most beautiful bike I have owned and I doubt that I can get something prettier, specially at this price point. Interesting to note that even though I love it, it performed amazingly well on twysties but on longer runs on the motorway for example it became boring and actually quite unconfortable (for me at least). I have ridden other motorbikes like the V9 roamer, V85TT and V7 II, III and V850 and those were more refined. Still, it is a proper motorcycle, One of the greatest street bikes.
One of the most underrated bikes. I own 2 Griso 1200SE's, also a Stevio 1200 NTX. The 1200 8v motor is amazing once tuned properly with a good exhaust. I'm 6'4" and find the Griso even more comfortable than the Stelvio. The stock seat is a factory 'gel' seat, I love these bikes. I wish Moto Guzzi would bring back a new version of it.
As an owner of 2 Guzzi’s I really like torques over revs. After driving all kinds of bikes, 8 years ago I switched to Moto Guzzi. I wished I done it years and years earlier. They are not really the cheapest, but a pall for life. You can doing hours a day on these things. There are not that many Guzzi’s, so there will be a few heads turn towards you. They are rather easy to maintain by yourself.
Classic looking bike good review thanks. I have a Ducati scrambler 1100 and it’s a great bike and I can imagine it’s got the same feel on the road as this guzzi ( that Italian feel ). I’ve just fitted SC project exhaust amazing and this guzzi would definitely benefit with the same
These bikes have spirit, bought my first in 1978-ish used. Got a ripping deal because at the time few people wanted Italian anything. Ran like a beast until a box made an illegal left into me. I was ok, the Guzzi was totaled.
Motto Guzzi I've Heard of them and seen a couple in the Santa Monica area. They sound beautiful and expensive. That is as far as knowledge of them go. Thank you.
Hoping you open the bike business again would love to purchase my first bike from you guys this spring. Glad you’re keeping up with the videos love the entertainment
‘Never heard of a Moto Guzzi Griso’ No way….an iconic Italian motorcycle manufacturer with a distinguished racing history and maker of fine motorcycles. As previous comments show, the underrated pearl in the motorcycle world.
Now that is most definitely a work of art. Back in the early 90s had a 72 civilian when they weren’t cool.. although I thought it was cool! Wish I still had it.

I’ve owned a Moto guzzi griso 8V for 3 years now. Amazing bike. Very unique. 145-150 mph is where she tops out at. They made 4 valve 1200 models as well. You forgot to mention.
My Guzzi V7 Stone '14 is my very first motorcycle and i simply love it. I needed to customize it to fit my style better, which was as easy as it gets. Italien perfection. Would love to own the more sporty Griso but its too expensive for me atm :/ one day..
Always love Guzzi's. Never owned one because you get so much more for the money with any Japanese bike. But I understand why some choose the Guzzi anyway. It has tons of personality.
My 2006 1100 griso was written off in the recent March 22 floods. Of the several guzzles I've owned, it was the best handling, all rounder. Despite its relative age, it's cornering ability easily matched much newer / current bikes. I could ride 300kms non stop noproblem. The 1100 is the last incantation of the pushrrod that goes back to the mighty le mons. Although not as raucous as the older varients, it is still definitely sounds like an guzzi should. Finding a replacement will be difficult as Australian sales numbers were limited. For me, the griso is my seductive Italian mistress, exotic, head turrning and ready to preform. If any one knows of a good griso for sale, leave a reply

I love the way this thing sounds and that power is priceless.
Love The Guzzi Brand...
This Griso is awesome 👍😎
Thanks for sharing...
Have A Wonderfully Blessed Day Brother ✌️
Shaft drive single side swing arm is soooooo freaking cool.
Wow, your review was awesome, and then you quoted Ephesians and blew my mind! That took the review over the top! I happily subscribed. I'm looking at one of these and your video may have pushed me over the line into the I gotta have one category! Thanks!

Also just so that the public knows, Guzzi clutches tend to be a bit hard on the hand but really precise and rewarding, it's kind of a trademark lol
My father always wanted a Moto Guzzi California III, but then decided on a Harley Sportster😁👍
The California name was introduced when the Moto Guzzi supplied motorcycles to the California Highway Patrol. 😎
I owned two of the lapd bikes great machines..1973 ..it was 1981. When I bought the 1st one for 350 dollars if you can believe it.. and I had no idea what it was.
Nice! Glad to see you back....been binge watching your channels.
Favorite brand, favorite presenter and Word of wisdom.
Wholeheartedly agree
ride a street bob but fell in love with Guzzi 850 Le Mans in the 80's.
used to own a completely original Griso 8v white version.
Nice bike. It's nice to see I am not the only one that rides when there's snow, patches here and there of ice, and cold. Good vid, always a thumbs up
One of the most underrated bikes.
Guzzi's have long been known as one of the nicest bikes built. I've always been amazed at how rare they are.
The Moto Guzzi Griso is a great machine. I was lucky enough to ride a friend’s one.
Had a Centauro years ago and loved it.
Very underrated bike. I really like the Californian model but that green color is great.
Tried a few bikes in 30 years, but I must say the BMW K1300R is my favourite.
Currently have an MGX 21, best bike I have ever owned.
I love watching your videos you’re a good man ✝️✨🙏🏻
Fair play to you, you pronounced the name, Guzzi correctly every time, good video man
As an owner of 2 Guzzi’s I really like torques over revs.
I’ve owned a V10 Centauro 4V and a V11 Sport 2V. Amazing machines.
Has a Corbin like seat. Oh, it IS a Corbin. What a hoot! Thanks 😊
Motto Guzzi I've Heard of them and seen a couple in the Santa Monica area. They sound beautiful and expensive. That is as far as knowledge of them go. Thank you.
They're not expensive for quality bikes. Cheaper than Harley, Ducati, BMW, KTM, and Triumph.
Glad you're still making reviews!
This guy is a legend!
Love the Griso in that color scheme.
I would love to have a griso in my garage someday. Would love it if guzzi brought it back.
Thank you for your praises about the GRISO. Had my Griso1200 SE for 6 years now and done lot of touring.. loved every second
Quite possibly Sean's most unequivocal video title... EVER! 🙃 Thanks for bringing us this beautiful machine.
Griso means ‘grey’ in some northern Italy dialects. Is also the name of a minor bad guy in a famous Italian novel we read at school in Italy.
I think its a pretty cool bike. I really like the green color with the Corbin seat.👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥❤
I had to thumbs up after the HC joke.... It's poetic...
Love single sided swing arm with shaft drive.
Splendid with the Corbin saddle and the skid plate... Could you tell me where you found it? If not the manufacturer's brand? Kind regards
Sweet looking bike! sounds good as well!
The sneak dis tho cold as hell
Now that is most definitely a work of art. Back in the early 90s had a 72 civilian when they weren’t cool.. although I thought it was cool! Wish I still had it.
A road motorcycles all my life to my pacemaker put in I really enjoy your channel and I never realized the scripture in your videos I really enjoy your commentary on motorcycles you're an awesome motorcycle enthusiast person God bless
I’ve owned a Moto guzzi griso 8V for 3 years now. Amazing bike. Very unique. 145-150 mph is where she tops out at.
They made 4 valve 1200 models as well. You forgot to mention.
Have a V7 III Carbon Dark that I love. Glad to see some Guzzi action!
You made me bust out laughing. Keep up the great work.
A pre-owned Moto Guzzi is a great bargain. Also maintenance is very DIY friendly.
Great looking motorcycle, the Italians make some of the best bikes over there💯
You should move your business to Valdosta, Georgia. Better riding weather and Valdosta really needs a good motorcycle dealership.
Definitely gotta name one of your creations the Harley Hillary... 🤣
Love your test rides allways honest and enjoyable mick uk
