It looked like Mario and Luigi could gain upward momentum by spinning mid-air despite the normal spin jump animation playing instead of the propeller spin animation. The only change aside from that is how they fall, only slowing their descent if Luigi is flapping his arms with Mario in the acorn suit.
Idk why but when I saw LOOGI in the thumbnail I thought of the shocked reaction in animal crossing new horizons lol

Hol up. Link has never deflected with his shield as far as I remember. (Reflect shield usually absorbs and then releases the absorbed power). He would deflect with his sword (juts play OOT and youll see what I mean)
Myth: in SMM2 if a player have propleler mushrom and he is grabbing someone the power up still working but in the real game ( NSMBU/D ) the power dosnt work
