    Arrived today! This absolutely completes the DFAM! I can see the step leds flashing as it skips, but can't hear anything and the timing sounds perfect. The first thing I did was put in a random sequence of notes going up and down the chromatic scale looping at 7 beats in my akai force, added some reverb and delay and it sounds like a full track without any extra sounds, because the playhead moves around it brings so much variety to the pattern, and because it's a polyrhythm it sounds like it's ever evolving!

      Thanks! :-) In the book, Patch & Tweak with Moog, the engineer behind the DFAM said that the firmware engineers were too busy with other stuff when the DFAM was designed, so they ended up releasing it without MIDI. The book: bjooks.com/products/patch-tweak-with-moog

    Amazing! I love the DFAM but hate that it doesn't have a reset, now this takes it to a whole new level of polyrhythms, when you played it backwards my jaw dropped! Just bought it! Can't wait to try it out! I assume I can setup an arpeggiator of consecutive notes then play with the size, or the up/down/random to mess with it.

    woah woah woah woah hold on. How are you making the DFAM go to non-consecutive steps just with the adv/clock cv input????????? As far as I know, the only thing the Adv/clock input does is go one step forward. How is this possible?? If you want to move two steps forward, are you just sending it 2 extremely fast triggers? 1 step back would be 7 really fast triggers? Veeeeery interested in this, cool idea!

      @@Sonoclast To make this module work inside eurorack I need CV->Midi module after my sequencer. I wish this module get position (not directly v/oct, but one of 8 voltage ranges to navigate inside DFAM sequencer) and trigger directly from eurorack sequencer like Rene.

    Looks very neat! so far i'm controlling thru presonus dc coupled outs (or sync from m32/shm), but may want separate usb, for straight daw control.
    I think you know everything about dfam (and im new to it). Is there a way to start sequence from 8th spet, by sending cv-something to somewhere? With the daw its pretty annoying to press stop, advance to 8th, to make it start from the start. TNX!

    • @Sonoclast

      No, the MAFD does not depend on an audio interface. You just need something that can send MIDI notes to the MAFD, either by MIDI cable or as USB host (a computer, as shown in this video). Hope that helps!

    • @Sonoclast

    Can you make the mod wheel output bipolar so you can use lfo via midi?

    • @Sonoclast
      @Sonoclast  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, not sure I'm following what you want to do. The MAFD CV can only do 0 to +5V. It sounds like you're saying you would use a midi generated lfo. The mod wheel output would do that but the lfo would be in the range of 0 to +5V. --Kevin
