James Michener taught history at Colorado State College now University Northern Colorado, in the 1930s. They filmed Centennial back in mid 1970s around Northern Colorado. Great fun watching them film it.
Hi ! A very interesting and informative vlog! Lots of bullet holes in the car ! Bonnie and Clyde were famous people now and back in the day ! My friend years ago had two horses named after them ! They always ran away, ate peoples gardens, and stood in the middle of the road when cars were driving through!! Aptly named I would say ! LoL !! Take care and have fun on your adventures !!!! Deborah. 🇨🇦
That was a good video as it reminded me I saw the car up close Bonnie & Clyde were shot up in, sometime around 2007. It was on display at Boomtown, just outside of Reno, NV on Hwy 80. I had reached across the partition ropes and touched a bullet hole just before I saw a sign that read "Touching this car is believed to bring bad luck!" 😩
Love the history behind the story of Bonnie and Clyde. Love how you met one of the folks involved in the History and the small bit about Willie's sister was a bonus Thankyou Jeff
Frank Hamer is a legend in the law enforcement community. As a retired law enforcement officer I really enjoy your videos touching on the old Legends. Thanks for taking us on the adventure guys another great video.
I appreciate that. I didn't know you were in law enforcement! That is so cool. Can you imagine, though, what would happen to Hamer and his fellow officers if they "apprehended" a pair of notorious outlaws in the manner they did? They'd be serving time in prison!
@@jbenziggy 😂 yes sir, 19 years. I left LE in 2006 because I had the opportunity to work for our government overseas. If you find yourself back in Texas see your way to the Texas rangers museum. Lots of history. Anyway my friend I appreciate you and your wife, love your channel.
a few months ago I read Frank Hamer biography it was a great read , very brave & interesting man , a Texas hero. thank for sharing this & this looks like a fascinating cemetery to visit. A hallowed place that seems to have many famous people in Texas history!
I am really glad to finally see this show. Just as I expected you did an excellent job of digging up a lot more information than what I had provided. I think that James Michener is probably the most important person buried in that cemetery. Your descriptions of LBJ were spot on. He was one of the leaders of the "Good Ole Boys" in Texas. I actually got to go visit his ranch just outside of Johnson City, TX. And was able to do it during the period that he was our President. There were tons of Secret Service, Texas Rangers and DPS officers all over there. My Great Aunt took her Sister (my Grandmother), my Sister and my 3 brothers to go visit his ranch. It was quit impressive and beautiful. I will share a picture of us sitting on the fence at LBJ's home. In closing, I really do appreciate the job you have done here. Hope you enjoyed your time with your Son while you were in Austin! Take care!
Jeff. I enjoyed this video . I live near Navasota Texas. There is a statue of Frank Hamer in front of the courthouse. As the story goes he was City Marshal durring 1908 to 1911. The City asked the Texas Rangers for help as crime was extreme in this Boom town. Thank you for the great videos.
Great video Jeff , Sarah ! Mabye law men today should learn from the past !!!! Won't be so many nuts in today's city's. THANK you Frank from montana.......

Thank you for this Historical account of these Rangers. They sounded like outlaws themselves. The actor was very good. Michener was very good. Thank you for sharing!
Another great video guy’s! As a law enforcement officer myself I really liked the Bonnie and Clyde story. I appreciate all the backstory too, learning some details I never knew before. Great work as always! Take care and see ya on the next one! Frank from Philadelphia, PA.
Jeff, very interesting video thank you so much for sharing. My grandmother Tracy lived in Kansas in the Southeast corner of the state. She lived in a little town called capaldo which is now Frontenac Kansas, and when she was a young girl she remember seeing Bonnie and Clyde being chased by the Kansas state police after they had robbed a bank in Arma. My grandmother said she saw them a few times driving around Pittsburgh and capaldo because Bonnie and Clyde had family in Joplin Missouri. Another story I wanted to share when I worked for the Henry Ford Museum we had in our archives and article about one of the Ford Motor Company employees going down to Texas to pick up the car that was shot to Pieces by the police. It was such a well made car when Ford had the car driven back up it started on the first turn of the crank and it was driven back to Dearborn Michigan. The engineers up at Ford wanted to look at the car. I thought you might enjoy seeing that. Great video thank you for sharing
Thanks again Jeff and Sarah enjoyed your episode again appreciate the time you put in on your episodes may God bless you and your family sending you love and hugs have a great week 🤗
