Ospreys (like all birds of prey) have eyesight 8x better then ours. Also the mums (females) are larger then the dads (males) but if you compare the smallest adult osprey female with the largest adult male osprey the largest male would be larger then the smallest female.

I have watched osprey feed on frogs, mice, snakes and prairie dogs here in Montana. No t just fish.
