Thanks so much BFree.. love the name. It's amazing how many people like my dark chocolate brown shubunkin. I still have hopes of breeding him to an all white female. Thanks again for watching and commenting
I personally like the yellow in the fish. It's different and will make them stand out in a pond. Variety is the spice of life, and they sure have a place in a pond. I think it would be boring to look in a pond of fish with all the same colors. I really hope you reconsider keeping these perfect fish for future breeding. I've got to say though, you have bred the best show quality fish I've ever seen. You have every right to be proud of your hard work. It's a shame you don't have more dedicated space to further your unique Shubunkins. I'm actually shocked at how much some of them changed. You have a real eye for seeing what could develop in the fry. Great job Chris, and I wish you much more success in your future breeding. ❤
Oh no worries Chris. I won't be keeping all the same. I like a variety of colors too. I am trying to do a distinct look but not a distinct color or to see distinct patterns. Yeah I totally agree on no one wants a pond full of the same color and the same look. But when you're trying to breed and sell a certain brand or a type of fish then I have to focus on just a few different varieties. Just like a koi breeder would do, but obviously in a smaller scale
@@stubbsaquatics6080 I understand. They are all so beautiful. I see the look you're going after. I would say you pretty much achieved it with these. Hopefully you can achieve consistently over the next breeding season. I wish you much success. ❤️
We need to all come together and create a petition for you to get more tanks! 😅 There's such a change from when they're very small, it must really take practice and a well trained eye to sort them when they're so young, and you've made some great choices! The one at 12:00 is seriously gorgeous, can definitely see why it's your favorite 😍! My eye kept being drawn to the one I think you first showed at about 15:14, I particularly like the fish's left side as it looks like there's some sparkly gold scales in with the black. I do like the yellow, the male that's yellow and white with black freckles is really pretty and the white and chocolate spotted female is really really beautiful, too. I really enjoyed this video and it kind of flew by, so I watched twice. Really great job with the breeding and section of these gorgeous fish! Have a super nice weekend, Chris and thanks for this treat of a video! 🙂👍

The blues are really getting pronounced since I have been watching your channel. The quality is really showing and your 15:44 hard work. Great video.

Wow nice ones. I'm doing same here, wanna have only longfin goldfish in my pond. I do mix with Bristol, Oranda and longfin goldfish. Have some good results this year.
Thanks so much. Great eye and great choice. I truly think that blue shubunkin is going to be absolutely amazing. Thanks so much for your kindness and support
Awww your shubunkins are stunning 🧡. I have a 17 year old ghost shubunkin who is currently very poorly. He hasn’t eaten for almost 2 weeks now which isn’t like him. He is just sitting at the bottom of the tank, barely moving. He had a red belly from sitting on the bottom so I treated that with Tetra Goldfish GoldMed which cleared it up. I got his water tested and was told it was fine. So I’m continuing to do regular big changes I brought some Pure Aquarium balls to help ensure the water quality was good and invested in a new oxygen stone too. But there hasn’t been much improvements, only time he seems to get energy is if I move something in his tank and then he swims about low to the bottom for a short while. I also noticed he’s started doing shimmies in the evening. I did wonder if he had a swim bladder issue. He’s slightly swollen and looks heavy when trying to swim. Oh and he hasn’t pooped in almost 2 weeks either. Do you have any advice at all? I’m very worried for my old Ernie 😔
Hi Ernie I am so sorry to hear about your 17 year old fish. 17 is pretty long life for a shubunkin goldfish. It sounds like a swim bladder issue.. You can try giving him peas. But if he isn't eating that makes it harder You can try a salt bath or dip. That should help with the redness Sounds like you really like your goldfish and have given him/,her a good life. Try the salt .. Do we know if it is a male or female.. Could also be egg impaction. Do you have a picture? Please keep me posted and thanks so much for watching and communicating
Thanks for the response. I know, I got him for £2 from a cheap pet shop as a teenager and didn’t realise he was such a special fish that would live this long. Since I’ve learnt more about shubunkins I’ve got him a larger tank and have done quite a bit of research to make sure he’s as happy as can be. I’m not sure of the sex actually I’ve just always called him a ‘he’. How can you tell? He actually started moving a lot this afternoon. Swimming around the tank more easily. I did try to hand feed him peas but he doesn’t have any appetite. But positive signs that he’s suddenly started moving more I think? I will try the salt and see. He’s in a 75 litre tank to himself which we were advised to get him 2 years ago but now have been told he might be too big for this tank and that could be causing issues for him.
@@megbullock9078 glad he is moving around.. the salt will help with its immune system as it will cause the fish to produce more slime coat and the salt will help kill any potential parasites and or disease. More water changes the better. You can also crush a bit of garlic and add to the water .. it helps with the immune system .. or so they say . It is in most higher quality foods. Give it a bit of frozen brine shrimp... See if it will eat after you have done all that.. Hopefully this will help.. take care and let me know
Hola Jose Congrats on getting a shubunkin goldfish. If I understand correctly your fish has a funny shaped head. Unfortunately it will remain the same. It's really a matter of choice. Some don't mind short faces. I prefer a full face/ head. I hope that answered your question Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Curious is you read this your thoughts. Just started a outdoor pond. It's 3x4 and 24deep. About 180 gal. How many (if) Shubunkins would be ok? Pond has a BPF with a UV on it. I'm a saltwater hobbiest, new to fresh.
Thanks so very much for watching and commenting. I appreciate your support. The bigger the better. It really depends on your filtration, temperature and if you have plants in it. You should be able to grow up 4 very nicely in that..
Some of your fish have short tails like common goldfish Those are the types that I'm looking for To bad that i live all the way in South America I really love your goldfish collection

You have some great looking Shubunkins, I understand the space issue, you can't keep them all. We have similar interests, I have some nice looking Shubunkins too, along with my Wakins. I don't know which I like better, you should check them out, there are some youtube videos of some really nice looking Wakins. Mine are all red and white, but I just got started working on a breeding project to make yellow and white, and also calico Wakins. By the way, I really like those yellow Shubunkins of yours. I thought about trying to make those, myself. Just what I need, another project. I use IBC totes, and also half plastic barrels for many of my goldfish, maybe you could find the space for a few of those.
Thank you so much for your comments. I like both those species of goldfish too. In fact, I've kept the both species before and I might get back into wakins again. I just did pick up two. IBC totes this past fall, but being I live in a northern climate in canada, keeping them outside in the IBC tote would not work I am really hoping to convince my wife to allow me to have a small indoor pond that I that you know. Obviously I'd make it look nice that I could keep some of my bigger brewed stock over the winter. This was free up more tank space for Barb's and for my younger goldfish. I would love to see your setups. Thanks again for your comments. I look forward to hearing back from you. Thanks again and all the best
It gets a little cold here too, sometimes subzero. I live at 7,200' elevation in AZ. I have my totes up against a south facing wall of my garage. I keep air going to keep the ice open and have overwintered my goldfish in them. This year I'm putting my airpump in the garage and running 3/8" tubing through the wall to feed the airlines in the totes. The garage is well insulated with south facing windows and does not freeze inside. I'm also putting sheets of glass over the totes, and keeping the snow cleaned off of them. I'm hoping the warmer air coming in will make a difference in the totes. @@stubbsaquatics6080
@@tarewade9681 I would imagine at that elevation it would get cold. It gets pretty cold here and sometimes down to -40 but often in the -20-30 range. Mine are not in my garage... Yours will be fine.. you could always put an oil filled radiator heater in your garage on really cold days . I look forward to seeing your set up Take care and have a happy New year

Chris I might offer you a solution! Buy your wife a nine day trip to Prince Edward Island. That's first. Get her out of the house for several days. Next remove everything, I mean all of it from the dining room. Have a yard, could work. Then set up your ponds, note ponds not pond, in the dining room. Cycle your water, Scape, add your fish! That should give you a two day leeway. Now this is very important. Buy a plane ticket to Brazil. Roughly four hours prior to your wife returning home. Next, flee. She will probably let you return home in, oh say eight months or so, can't tell on this one. But by then her urge to murder will be somewhat subdued. Good luck. You do know you can create videos in Brazil as well as Canada!
I am killing myself. Laughing well being that she is a East coaster. She would love that time a PEI! But being she is a newf there's a good chance she'd still kill me but I'm really liking your ideas and give me lots to think about

Thanks so much my friend
Beautiful Shubunkin my friend ❤
Aww thanks for your kindness. I appreciate you watching and commenting. I am in the midst of upgrading my shubunkin goldfish stock
wow beautiful colours!!!!!!!
ps i think the kids would love an indoor pond LOL
Lol.. you talk Sandra into it.. can't imagine what all Walker would throw into it
Gorgeous!
They are all so beautiful I don’t think I could choose…although i am quite drawn to a few that look like one of my girls they look extra special😊
Thanks my good friend. Everyone has their own distinct likes with certain fish and it would appear we have similar taste
Thanks so much for your continued support and kindness my friend
Wow, just wow. I wish I could find a couple of nice shubunkins to breed from. I also would love an indoor pond but I live in a very small house with lots of houseplants and aquariums. Sweet looking fish you breed!
Thanks so very much. I have been breeding these guys for several years. I started out with ordinary fish.. I don't have them anymore. I have been breeding to get better traits.
I too have a lot of house plants. You can breed them inside.
Thanks so much for your kindness and comment.
It means so very much
the best of the best Chris, super amazing selection, Hi! Chris watching your video that I missed so busy, like 75
I really appreciate you taking the time to watch this being that you are so busy. Take care and take some time for yourself

Hello! I always watch this channel with pleasure! Thanks a lot! 👍👍👍66
I am very glad you liked this video. I worked hard on it and breeding all these fish
Thanks again. I very much enjoy your channel as well my friend
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous 😍
Thanks so much. I try.. I just added some new females to the bloodline so hopefully this year's spawn will even be better
@stubbsaquatics6080 Sounds lovely they can only get better honestly. You have the same battle I have with my husband for tank space. They just don't get it! 😅
@@ellaaqua hahaha.. so true but I am building an indoor pond this summer
@stubbsaquatics6080 OMG, that's going to be epic! Are you doing a build video?

Wow! Chris look at those shubunkins! They look absolutely stunning mate, great job mate! Tbh mate I would keep them all lol. I definitely think you should get an indoor pond mate , thanks for sharing 😊 full view 😊
Thanks so much Arnold. I've been putting a lot of time and effort into selecting certain ones for breeding

Thanks Duke.. I am trying for a few distinct variations. Blue is definitely one of them. Thanks so very much for watching and commenting. Your support is greatly appreciated
I'd definitely buy those fish you don't like
They are beautiful regardless of their colors
Aww thanks. You are so kind
Wow nice ones. I'm doing same here, wanna have only longfin goldfish in my pond. I do mix with Bristol, Oranda and longfin goldfish. Have some good results this year.
Wow.. thanks I will be sure to go subscribe to your channel.
Thanks so very much for watching and commenting.
The one at 11:45 is absolutely amazing 🤩
Thanks so much. Great eye and great choice. I truly think that blue shubunkin is going to be absolutely amazing.
Thanks so much for your kindness and support
Maja bardzo ładne kolory :) Pozdrawiam
Thanks 👍 my friend
Hi Ernie
I am so sorry to hear about your 17 year old fish.
17 is pretty long life for a shubunkin goldfish.
It sounds like a swim bladder issue.. You can try giving him peas.
But if he isn't eating that makes it harder
You can try a salt bath or dip. That should help with the redness
Sounds like you really like your goldfish and have given him/,her a good life.
Hopefully this will help.. take care and let me know
I will love one 1️⃣ this fish in my pond very nice fish
You got a new subscriber 😎👌🎏🎏🎏
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it. There are a couple that I truly love and I can't wait to hopefully spawn them in the next year or two
Adquiri recientemente un shubunkin cómo le muestras en el video con la cabeza diferente habrá alguna posibilidad de que cambie su forma?
Hola Jose
Congrats on getting a shubunkin goldfish. If I understand correctly your fish has a funny shaped head. Unfortunately it will remain the same. It's really a matter of choice. Some don't mind short faces. I prefer a full face/ head. I hope that answered your question
Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
The water snakes in my area of Louisiana, USA help make room for more fish by eating some. Just wish they didn't always go for my best ones. :(
I can imagine. King fishers, mink and herons do the same to me but I am sure you have them too.
So far it seems it is just the water snakes that have found my small ponds. My ponds are only about 110 gallons or so. @@stubbsaquatics6080
do you ever sell and ship your younger shubunkins??
I unfortunately only sell them to a dealer in Ajax Ontario... Vandermeers
@@stubbsaquatics6080 I do have water lilies and blue flag for inside the pond. Thanks for the feedback
@@SNBI2A I love blue flag iris.. they are great nitrogen eaters .
Looking forward to seeing them.. when you get them
I would find it hard to choose cause they are all so different, luckily for me most of my young look the same
Text buddy. It's the same with me with my Barb's. They're all pretty much the same. Some just are bigger than others, right?
Some of your fish have short tails like common goldfish
Those are the types that I'm looking for
To bad that i live all the way in South America
I really love your goldfish collection
Thanks so much for watching. Where is south america?
I wish you lived closer as I have lots of short tailed I won't be keeping.
They are beautiful just not what I am looking for in brood stock.

Yeah I'd definitely buy those short tails
I'd get more IBC tanks and put them in there
I kinda see some potential in them
You have some great looking Shubunkins, I understand the space issue, you can't keep them all.
IBC totes this past fall, but being I live in a northern climate in canada, keeping them outside in the IBC tote would not work
I am really hoping to convince my wife to allow me to have a small indoor pond that I that you know.
I look forward to seeing your set up
Take care and have a happy New year
What is the tank size???
Hi there.
