Very cool! Just flew back yesterday from the 19th annual Goldfish Breeder's Social hosted by Gary. Always a treat to walk around his fishroom so very cool to see this up already today.

@@LupDiesel I have had my goldfish going on 2 years now & they just decided to spawn but I don't have a setup for the eggs but HOPEFULLY next year if all goes right I'll have that set up. I really enjoyed how he has everything going & set up, if I had a place where I had the right place that I could just have a few decent size ponds like the boxed 1's he has I'd be happy.
Goldfish is simply a different experience as far as fish keeping goes. the highlight is the fact that each individual fish feels so unique, and how they become impressive as they grow. in that sense, any healthy thriving goldfish, no matter the quality/gride, becomes a wonder. then the next level is breeding, because with them having so much genetic material (4n organism), you often get suprises in the offspring. As a teenager i ditched goldfish for tropicals, and now In my later years i switched back to exploring goldfish, and only keep "cool water" tropicals
GoldfishRescueofWisconsin we stayed down in the US for 4 days past the guaranteed delivery date and it was 3 days after that that they finally arrived.
April Showers ‘fraid not. Some were alive when the package finally made it back to Gary, but not many. Erica (my wife) was really torn up about it. Even the post office people in Montana were frantic trying to help and saying they just don’t lose packages anymore, but we drew the short straw.
In reality no country has a LFS thats super high quality, they're all big franchise stores, like the mcdonalds of food, You usually find a speciality store or smaller more caring aquarium store thats dedicated to fish only or go online. I dont blame them, i recently bought 2 ranchu's and a red cap, the red caps turning orange, one ranchu was white but is now developing orange spots, and the orange ranchu's head is turning white, they also have 0 wen growth except for the redcap. Paying full price for clearly weak genetic fish. Where as online red caps are red caps, ranchus have wen growth etc and clearly the local lfs had these baby goldies in terrible water with a shitty diet as once they got in my tank they started showing their true colours.
