Went there today. Thanks for posting. My my grandma Lizzie had a Greengrocers on Breck Rd and my Dad Ernie took it over. Bob Paisley used to have a cup of tea with my grandad in the greengrocers before a match. They were friends. Many of the footballers used to pop in for fruit then and chat. Littler used to look after the shop when my grandparents qent on holiday. Happy days, so different then. My grandad even had his Welsh Cob, Tommy, grazing on Liverpool's ground during the war.

Beautiful. From a time when people had manners, were polite and had self control and self discipline. Strong community,no foreigners.

In the hot summer of 1976 I was taking my final exams and relaxed every day by playing lawn bowls at Stanley Park. Those greens are no longer maintained (shame!) & I'd forgotten their exact location, so I appreciate you showing them in these clips. It was a good wood, Jack!

I remember the cuckoo clock flower bed. The bowling greens. The sand pit. Paddling pool. And the summer talent shows happy days.

How times have changed, the park had everything for a good day out in the early days, never knew it had a swimming pool.
