I agree! I love thinking where that pen has been before, and all the hands it had been in. The big reason why I love vintage pens!

For cleaning the Pelikan I would consider getting an ultrasonic cleaner. They are surprisingly inexpensive.
I keep thinking about getting one! Just not sure if the cleaning would actually make it possible to remove the nib safely without damaging the feed....
