    If you run the robot to vacuum first before mopping, the dust and dry debris won't get wet and make mud in the filter, which the auto emptying system can't clean. It works much better with dry messes.

    Actually, the versalift dtof sensor doesn't seem to add much of a difference in the height of robot vacuum. If the lidar goes inside the robot, the deal is pretty much the same !!! because they actually increased the height of the robot so as to compensate the movement of the lidar sensor.

      80 degrees Celsius

    It’s interesting to see that the dual rollers still struggle to get some hair off the carpet and the increased suction from the X40 didn’t seem to help a whole lot… I’m an X40 owner and it’s frustrating to see a robot I paid 2 thousand dollars for leave things behind. My roomba j7+ I had did better carpet cleaning!

    Tough to justify an upgrade for me. The retracting LIDAR will be a benefit but only under 1 couch in my house. The ProLeap system won't really make a difference for me. Not sure if there's any other benefit over the X40.

    I purchased the pre order discount code. But after seeing several reviews, I think I might just bite the bullet on the $40 I paid for the discount and pass on this purchase.
    For all the upgrades, this one looked awesome. Which is why when I saw the retail price being lower than the x40 and the discount bringing it down to $1300, I decided to jump right in. But now I'm really disappointed and feel like I may have dodged a big mistake by seeing these reviews before I completed the purchase.

      Personally, I'd wait for more reviews to come out since I think this is mainly due to the firmware.

      @makotopotato514 I have till February March I think. After that, my code expires.
      I'll give it as long as I can and keep an eye out.
      If things don't get better, I'll likely bail out.

    Thank you for your video! How does it compare to the Narwal Freo Z Ultra in your opinion? I'm hesitating.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@1991lyly they’re both very good. I would say the Dreame is a little smarter and a little better on carpeting, and the Narwal is a better mop.

    • @jasonwiltjer9
      @jasonwiltjer9 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Narwal is better overall. It has better object avoidance, mopping, the no tangle brush actually has no tangled, the base station uses electrolyzed water, and it even has an option to use a hardwood floor maintainer.
      Dreame has more hardware features but some are a bit gimmicky.

  • @Nathanisdoing
    @Nathanisdoing 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

    So the mop didn’t do great at the soy sauce, hair did get tangled at the end of the brush, only 80% of the hair was picked up, and the filter cleaning only kinda works. Darn… was hoping for better on this gen

      Me toooo !!!! The tech on this, is out of this world but this type of performance is not expected. If they came up with a main brush like dyson vis nav, and a mop like eufy s1 pro, they sure will beat the competition.

      you can make it use more water when mopping, then you wont have this issue. Orginal settings are prob at 16% wet pads.

    Watching both your X40 and X50 reviews, the X40 seems to perform better in both mopping and vacuuming? I’m wondering if the “upgrades”, which seem minimal, are worth the extra cost of the X50? Interesting and disappointing I think.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I think they’re both great. The X40 with the TriCut brushroll is definitely an excellent performer. The X50 is overall lower-maintenance.

    This seems like a bit of a small upgrade. The only things that make a difference are the dropoing lidar and threshold jumping. And both of those are more or less gimmicks. It doesn't seem to clean any better than other models and rhe mopping might be a diwngrade. And i wish they would have inoroved obstucle avoidance.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I think the X40 with the Tricut brushroll might perform slightly better on carpeting, but the new dual brushroll setup on the X50 has better tangle-free properties. Same with the mopping, a slight performance hit, but a much better auto-wash system. Several of the changes seem to be made with lower maintenance in mind. Between the two I still prefer the X50 because it takes better care of itself, but they're both great.

  • @ProductionsPlus
    @ProductionsPlus 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The x50 does not have a onboard clean / dirty water tank like the norwal flow nor does it have the superior mopping system the flow has. Every time the x50 dirties it's mop pads it needs to return to the base to clean them and looses battery power & time in doing this. so if Dreame would develop a new mopping system comparable to the norwal flow it would be the perfect machine because in every other aspect it is superior to the norwal flow.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@ProductionsPlus I have the X50 set to clean its mop pads after each room it mops. Lots of cleaning options in the app. The robot technically recharges for a minute while washing the mop pads, since it does it at the dock. It has an on-board clean water tank, and just washes the mop pads as needed, which you can adjust.
      The Flow looks great, but I wonder when that one will release? This summer?

      @@VacTech1 the bot has an on-board tank or the dock station? the flow has a clean & dirty tank on the bot itself don't get me wrong, I have already pre-ordered the x50 but for mopping the norwal seems to have better tech

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ProductionsPlus both. It has an onboard clean water tank for mopping, as well as the main separate clean water tank at the dock. It does not have an onboard dirty water tank (just the one at the dock). An onboard dirty water tank wouldn’t work with a spinning mop setup, only with roller-style mops that scrape clean during use. Hope this helps!

      Narwal Flow seems to be the best robot vacuum in 2025. Even the carpet cleaning looks to be the best. The problem for me is how hideous the base station looks but that will be subjective LOL
