    Awesome video! I spontaneously weight shifted in my desk chair a few times to counterbalance the sensation! LOL!!

    Great video... I love my '22 TR3/GT. My favorite little "scrape" sound at 1:47 can sometimes make your heart skip just a moment. Particularly on this lovely 650lb beast.
    I love throwing mine around the twisties up in Julian, CA on the (78) and Banner east (79). FUN FUN!

      Thanks, David. Although it's "a fur piece," as we say around here to you in CA I hope to ride out there sometime. If you're ever out this way, look me up!

      I live near Yosemite enjoying mine! Be safe and have fun! I have never heard the scrape yet, I think that would terrify me if I heard that, lol.

      @@SQTierHog I'd love to take my 3R out to your neighborhood. Yosemite is majestic. I explained the scrape sound in the previous comment just now. I also have a 2011 Roadster that I've worn the scraper off the pegs, but the new Rockets have more clearance and I find that I drag the pegs much less often.

      David, Full disclosure- that "scrape" is actually a sound effect (camera shutter) I added in. The white tent you see ahead is a photo service and the still photo you see just after the "click" is one of their photos. However, there is some scrapping going on here and there- just not audible from that camera's position.

      @@journeyman2553 Sir, so you have two Rockets?
      I can understand why. I wanted a rocket for over 10 years, and finally now for my upcoming 60th birthday, I purchased my first Rocket maybe going on 3 weeks now.
      Having ridden many motorcycles throughout my life, this is absolutely the most, I don't know, unique experience I would say (I mean that in the highest praise).
      Other than the rocket, for my 50th birthday, in 2013, I bought a 2012 KZ 1000 Ninja, new. It's a great experience as well. To me, all bikes are fast, but they offer different experience. Anyhow as I know you know, I could chatter on and on about our Rockets!
      I am fortunate, that leaving my driveway in any direction is a motorcyclist's dream. I'm grateful that I'm not a rider that has to travel to get to great roads.

    how is the reliability of the Rocket 3R? Is it as reliable as a suzuki Hayabusa? Has it left you stranded or broken down anywhere when you went on any long distance touring ?

    • @journeyman2553

      Sorry for the late reply. I've owned three Rockets- Classic, Roadster and now the 3R and have found them to be reliable. Of course things have come up, as they do with all bikes. I've toured on the Roadster and 3R without incident. Not sure of the reliability of the Hayabusa to compare. I love the Rocket.

      It's actually the stock screen with Madstad brackets. It is an improvement, but far from what you'd get from a stock screen on the older 2.3s. Next winter I plan to mount the 18" Madstad screen, although anything larger than stock is going to look a bit out of place.

      Hi Chris- no, I love the new Rocket. I also have a 2011 Rocket III Roadster with Neville Lush cams and pistons, but they are very different. The R3 is lighter, just as torquey and handles and stops better. Great bikes, either.

      @@journeyman2553 Cool video... are you using Insta 360 camera or Gear Pro? I have the 3R too and love, love, love the bike. Need to make a trip to this trail soon.

      It's a 360 GoPro Max. I guess everyone should do the Dragon at some point just to see what all the hype is about, but there are many better rides in this general area. The Snake being one for sure.

      Chris, another owner here... absolutely no regrets!
      I have only the Rocket 3r, have never ridden any previous versions.
      In the highest of praise I say that this machine is the most unique motorcycle I've been on! While I know racer, I have leaned the Rocket 3 lower than I have my 2012 KZ1000. To me, the weight of the bike makes me feel more comfortable that it's going to stay on the ground, whereas the KZ stays on the ground, but it's lighter. Oh, the Rocket 3 is very nimble!
      Bottom line, everyone has to experience this motorcycle, at least for even a test ride. One thing for sure in any comment you will watch, even comments were the riders say they would not buy a Rocket (rare), they all giggle and laugh,. Pure joy!

    Beats me why you don't sit in top gear through most of those corners. I've got nearly 200000 kilometres on two older R3 and I mostly choof about in a higher gear through corners like that. No need to rev the motor that much. To each their own, though. Ride sife! 👍🇦🇺

      Suppose I'll chime in. I'm fairly certain that it is something or some "matter" formed or molded possibly used for a spiritual substance or spiritual energy "exteriorized" by some physical medium. I think was coined in 1894 by psychical researcher Charles Richet. Although [Ectoplasm] is widespread in popular culture, there is no scientific evidence that ectoplasm exists as many purported examples were exposed as hoaxes fashioned from cheesecloth, gauze or other natural substances floating with two hairs and some air -- BR 🧔‍♀

    Now that you have practiced on the tail of the dragon come out west where some real rides exist in every state in the Mountain or Pacific time zones.

    • @journeyman2553
      @journeyman2553  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tail of the Dragon is just one of hundreds of rides in this region, and far from my favorite. I've been out west and you do have some great roads there too, but if you think we don't have "real" rides here maybe you should come for a visit.

    • @jimanders9971
      @jimanders9971 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@journeyman2553 I guess I should have replaced “real” with “epic”. You have no epic rides back there. Im talking grande vistas, length of ride, twisties, hellacious elevation, etc. There is no comparison.

    • @journeyman2553
      @journeyman2553  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      "There is no comparison" ....... There's no claim here AT ALL of this being the best/hardest/scariest/most scenic, or "epic" etc. ride in the land. Sorry, if for some bizarre reason (?) my post made you defensive. Do you do interject these random comparisons often? It's interesting that with all those great rides out west that you're waisting your time watching riding videos taken in the South, of all forsaken places. Come here and I, or anyone else will show you some southern hospitality, and.... we'll try to keep up. Just ride, man....

    • @jimanders9971
