It was better when I was young cause the traffic is crazy now. Blood Mtn. Is a good ride too.
Loved this video! Came across this and your track video. I need to get to a track and try my hand at how my scout will do because I've always wanted to give it a shot. Im pretty aggressive on the road but with all the given variables that can go wrong I really want to try it in a controlled track environment. You ride damn good, way to carve the dragon! I sold my Honda Nighthawk 250 & BMW R1150RT last year and bought an Indian-made Yamaha FZ25. Just good for my age, crawling traffic, gasoline prices, and a speed limit of 100kmh ! Too, everything motorcycle in this island is expensive..........since I started riding, until now. That 250 cost me TT$29,800. In exchange it is US$4,385 ! We have to import everything. But we have had our share of bikes in the years gone by. But nowadays, the sportbikes those young guys ride are almost always imported from the USA. Cheers. Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.

Going left means drive more to the right. Stay wide and turn in to the corner. Leaning over the middle is just waiting for someone to hit you big time.
You can run a donkey in the Kentucky derby but it doesn't mean you will win... still, this is a fun day of riding and that is what it is really all about 🤠

Also did TOTD a few days later. A great ride but there were better (Diamondback, Back of the Dragon). Wish I could have seen the mini-rodeo in person. Looked awesome!
No they aren't. 100% of europeans who say things like this have no perspective for what this road is actually like. Yet, everyone who has ridden this and ridden in the Rhine understands just how much more technical this road is. The cameras always obscure the reality.

Leftrightupdown. For more entertainment you can hop into the french Vosges or connect to the Alps. Without ever riding in a straight line.
To go fast you need gear, and time. Harleys can actually rip the dragon pretty well for a cruiser position. I once brought a Harley to a Miatas At the Gap rally and received a ton of standing ovations and fosts in the air as I left some miatas in the dust. I was scraping pegs is most of the corners or road rashing my pipes on those hard down and up right handers. Yeah its tiring, but it was hella fun. So mich so that I bought a Sportster Roadster and will be slinging it there this year. Last trip was with a Dyna and it was just a tad heavy.
I saw a vid with a casual bunch of older-riders on Harleys , same place , made your ride look like Old-Grannies . They rode like they were born on those bikes . 67years , 51-bikes Dave NZ
I was just there yesterday on a lowrider s and made it to 4th gear once. The first run was a hour worth of delays due to accidents. Unfortunately a guy lost his life in a head collision with a Mustang.
4th gear on the dragon is a rarity for me as well... Always sad to hear that. 6 riders perished there last year, 2 the year before and 3 in 2019... It can be a dangerous spot for motorcyclists but much safer than Dayton Bike week though. On average 7 motorcyclists die during bike week annually, with the record being 20 deaths in 2006.
@@HogboyBiff I was almost hit by a sport bike rider passing another sport bike and then a group of tuner cars came up behind me and I quickly let them pass. I can't believe the police let all that racing go on that road for so long. You really have to see it to believe how dangerous it is. I'll be going back :)
Great video! I used to own a 2020 Street Bob and I could haul ass on the Dragon. The foot boards on my o4 heritage are so sharp you can shave with them. Lol BTW, don't listen to those people talking about crossing the yellow line and not being fast. The sport bike guys do it all the time and everyone considers them fast! Cheers
I visited Tail of the Dragon for the first time this Summer. First I would like to thank all of the Harley riders who were curtious and pulled off and let me by .. The rest of them I passed like they were sitting still. I never saw a fast one that is for sure.

Elk meat has not fat in it meat mass, making it a great meal. My friend got my veggy now ex-wife too like elk meat, which put some pressure on me, giving him another hunting partner! Go down tail as fast as you want but if you have to cross over double yellow, are you cheating?
If in closed course no not cheating, but are cheating if on open road with you violating on coming traffic space crossing into someone's grill? You know answer to that!
Harleys are slow, ill handling, poor ergonomic, maintenance thirsty, over priced, and are not fully American made, as some might imagine. They are in the process of offering small displacement models, manufactured entirely in China. Don't waiste your money. Japanese motorcycles are far superior.
It feels fast on a harley.. is the thing.. and you can most certainly have a quick harley. It's not gonna be stock thoe. But in fairness sports bikes are comically easy to be fast on. To be actually able to push a sports bike to its limits in the twistys is a completely different story. I live in Cali. Is full of straight line drag racers in cars and in bikes... can't keep up with a local in a pick up on a twisty road thoe.
