Hi Norbert. That is excellent question. Never really paid attention to that. I'm guessing any filter would be better than me running it with no filter. I don't have any suggestions on any certain brand. I have a bunch I bought off Amazon years ago, that I use on the riding lawn mower. I think I will install one of those.
Great video. I saw that you replaced the needle valve. It was in the sped up section. I was hoping you commented on what the correct setting is. As in, how many turns out. I have a 2002 Eiger with the same carburetor and I can't seem to find what the proper setting is. On mine, unfortunately, once the carburetor is in you can't get at the adjustment screw as the starter is in the way. Any help you can give would be appreciated (or from one of your viewers). Also, where did you get the rebuild kit?
No. No problems. It has been a really good running machine. But it is getting old. Unfortunately I do not have an hour meter on it. So I do not know how many hours I got.
I am trying to find out what this tube is on my carburetor i have the exact same king qaud and there is a tube running from the diapram but I cannot find were it goes
Hi Hunter. I apologize if I use the wrong terms. Hopefully I can give you some help. I'm not near the quad at the moment so I'm going to have to rely on memory. You should have 3 rubber hoses attached to your Carb. The 1st tube is at the very bottom (should be the largest) is connecting the Carb to the gas tank petcock. Easy to see. The 2nd tube should be a skinny tube (mine has a braided sheath) that connects the very front top of Carb, back under gas tank and also connects to the underside of the tank pet cock. Not very easy to see. I usually connect the hose to the gas tank first then attach to the top of carb after the carb installed. The 3rd tube (large tube) that I am guessing you are concerned about is the one that connects to the side of the Carb. It is next to where the choke cable comes in. This tube connects to the Carb and angles straight down connecting to nothing. I believe this is an overflow/venting tube. Be sure this tube is clear too. I had to use a straightened, metal, coat hanger to clean the tube out. of It has had mud sediment build up and spider web cocoons in it. That last tube is how I think the spiders and that hornet got into the carb. Hope this was helpful. Please let me know how you make out.
@@MC-1173 yes thank you I needed this help it was the third tube that you were talking about that I was concerned about because I thought it connected to maybe the air box with the filter but I wasn't sure and couldnt find a spot to connect the hose thanks for the help
I have the same machine with a carburetor issue. My gas gauge is cracked as well, so I'm betting my fuel isn't very clean. Did you ever fine-tune your throttle? Also, did you get a pic of your fuel once it settled?
Hi Justin. Yes I did. I ended up adjusting my Fuel/Air mixture screw. It is located underneath and in the front of your Carb. I wasn't going to touch it at first, but last minute decided to change it out since I had the carb off. It was close but not quite perfect during recording. I didn't add the adjusting in the video, because it is too hard to see what I was doing, and the video was already 45 minutes long. Another thing I should have done was use compressed air to gently blow out the small channels and orifices. But my carb wasn't too bad. Hope this helps.
Forgot to mention. No didn't get a lot of water to separate from the bad gas. I ended up dumping it in the recycle tank. It was definitely breaking down. You might be able to see the bottom of the float bowl when I take it off. It has a sludge glob in it. Everything had this slimy/sludgy coating on it which is hard to see on camera, but you can definitely feel it.
Well done surprised that there is no fuel filter would you recommend one be installed

Great video buddy, it’s very helpful I just bought an 08 Suzuki 400 4x4 FS today for $400
They are a nice machine. Nice price, hopefully seller didn't beat on it.
Good job!! That thing sounds sweet, I would love to see it in action. 👍🏼
Thank you, Hugo.
Video is very helpful, but do you have any idea on where i can find a new carburetor?
Thank you for making this video, it sure helped me to understand.

I got the kit from ALL BALLS RACING. I think it was just on Amazon.
I was told between 2 and 2 1/2 turns out to start with 😊😊😊
That sounds about right for a starting point. Unfortunately I don't recall exactly how much I did.
Have you had any flywheel problems yet. ??? Any carb problems before now and how many hours on it ????
Thanks
