A Sporty Teddy Bear | 2013 Lexus LS460 F Sport Review

  • The F Sport LS460 tries to make the LS sportier with bigger brakes and an upgraded suspension. In the end it proves to be little more than an exterior improvement. Which is fine for me. I love the regular LS460, and the F Sport finishes it off with better looks, albeit a less-impressive interior.

    I loved the chillan in my 1991 LS400. Your analogy is spot on.
    Coming from Miatas and Porsche and s2000, as a lifelong car enthusiast, I respect how Lexus has built the greatest luxury car of all time.

    Excellent review and great detail. Would be good to see a review of a 2007 LS460 SE-L if you ever get one in.

    I've always loved smooth, quiet power.. I hate loud ,growling exhaust notes that most americans are crazy about. Makes it sound like the car is struggling to exert its power. My GS can accelerate quick enough without making a big deal about it.

    I have a 2005 LS, not a lot of plastic. Time has changed. But I like this design too.

      F sport’s aluminum interior and leather wrapped steering wheel is way better. Wood trim is nice and all but it screams old man IMHO.

    I just got a ls460 07 and it almost identical inside and I feel like it looks much better inside and out and has much finer nice touches then this newer one buttons and little touches this one lacks! I love the wood grain on previous model! Glad I got previous one same engine same design and power just made better quality on little touches! 🥰 I love my ls460!!

    This is a nice car, but I am still more of a fan of the S-Class Mercedes. I will say, that I would rather have this model over the new LS. In my option, the new LS is a bit over-done for me in the interior (specifically that glass trim instead of wood grain) This car is way classier than the newer LS overall . Nice Review!

    • @KirkKreifels
      @KirkKreifels  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Matt W I'd take the ls500 ;) with wood trim, not glass, in f sport as well. I can see where you're coming from however. Thanks for stopping by!

      I like the 07 ls460 has finer nicer touches but same seats and engine but I feel like buttons wood grain little touches were done the best in the 07 to 2012 ls460!! My baby! Love the ls460!!

    If you put your foot down do you feel the torque?

    • @philhenderson3516
      @philhenderson3516 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This car is sluggish throttle down or not, very little torque unless you're over 5,000 rpm, but it gives out a very nice melodic V8 sound. A Genesis G90 feels much faster compared to this and the Genesis itself is a boat and much HEAVIER, just to give you a point of reference as to how relaxed this Lexus is. I owned both, G90 was the better vehicle, more technology, better interior materials, superior acceleration, but it had less character. The powertrain components of the LS were of better quality but didn't perform better.

      Thanks for reply. I think the best models of the Lexus are the Ls430 and LS400 🙂

    Sport is not in this cars DNA...its not meant to be hurried. If you want a full size car that can be hurried you have to buy one of the German luxury cars

      From a handling standpoint?. I have not driven one but the reviews say the new LS500 is not really a sports sedan either...in the same realm as the German sedans. I had hoped for a twin turbo V8 and some more, and unique, technology in the latest iteration....but Lexus seems to not be interested in going that direction. The car seems to be an improved car over the last generation...but not the quantum leap I was expecting them to make. Though admittedly , if they had made " that car" the price would be in the S class territory

    • @KirkKreifels

      as compared to something like the Mercedes S class or BMW 7 series?
      Have you driven the Genesis G90?....a lot of buzz on that car. Especially for the price...and its $25K less than the Lexus LS
      A niche car for those that don't need all the customization and tech wizardry that the German full size sedans have
