    The Lexus LS had always been known for its smooth engine starting from even the first generation LS back in the 90s. When I drove the 3rd generation LS, I thought that there was nothing that could ever beat its smoothness, until of course, you guessed it, the 4th generation LS.
    The 4th generation Lexus LS comes in standard and long wheelbase. During its launch, it had an understated which although looked great back in 2007, may be a little bit too dated for today's standards. To remedy this aging look, in 2013, Lexus facelifted the Lexus LS in the now famous (or infamous for some people) corporate spindle grille. Engine options include a 4.6L V8 in the LS460, and a 5.0L V8 mated to a hybrid motor in the LS600hL. While the LS600hL seems like the no-brainer option to get, it is plagued by three letters that just make the LS460 the right choice to get: C-V-T.
    Featuring the naturally aspirated melted butter-like 4.6L 1UR-FSE V8 engine, a proper and world's first 8 speed automatic transmission, sporty looks all around the exterior and interior, an intake sound generator, bigger rims as standard, 1 inch lower ride height, short wheelbase, a 0-100 time of only 5.7 seconds, and most importantly RELIABILITY, the 4th generation facelifted Lexus LS 460 F Sport definitely gives even the likes of the Mercedes Benz S63 AMG, and the BMW M760Li a run for their money for a fraction of the cost, and a fraction of the headaches.

    I'm digging the skyscrapers in the background of the rooftop shots. Nicely done man! It's funny how you mentioned the prestige of owning a Mercedes or other European luxury vs owning a Lexus. The way I see it is that owning a Mercedes is like a boastful flex, but owning a Lexus is like a more humble flex. Owning a Lexus is like a successful person who's respected by many and doesn't like talking about their wealth or materialistic status symbols.
    To be quite frank I didn't really like Lexus, well at least the one we had growing up. Growing up we had an 01 IS300, by the time I was a teenager, I did not like being in the back seat since it was very cramped; that's saying something because I'm 5'4" and it was not comfortable for me since you can feel everything on the road and was more or so tuned for sport. I'm sure if I actually had the chance to drive it, I would have fun with it. Based on that experience, I didn't really like Lexus and thought I would rather prefer Mercedes or BMW.
    Fast forward to today, and my perception of Lexus is much more positive. I had an aunt who didn't need her 07 ES350, since she got herself a different car and let me have it as an upgrade from my 02 Civic 5 speed (Best first car). After owning a Lexus for 10 months now, I am loving it and changed my perspective on Lexus. I know that they're Toyota and will always be reliable, and it's a very nice car. It is luxurious, but doesn't scream "look at my status" like a Mercedes. Don't get me wrong I like Mercedes, but I think I may prefer Lexus over Mercedes. If I ever part ways from my ES, I think would go for the last gen GS over a C class.

    It's June 2023 and I just came across this review. Coincidentally, I have been researching this model (and the succeeding ones before the remodel) for quite sometime now. I wish I saw this review and would have been able to make an offer on this particular car. We had an '08 RX350 (again, before the remodel) and really enjoyed how it drove, handled, and the features it offered at the time. Even for a used vehicle it was a great car to have. I like how this is designed, especially the F-Sport version, and just feel it is aligned with the BMW 7 Series, Audi 7 series and even the MB S Class at the time. I've moved on to a German brand since then but really want to get one of these to have and redo to make it my daily driver. I know you can drive one of these till the wheels fall off (literally). However, with the current auto market (and housing, and supply, etc.), they really are asking for a bit much for these even with a load of miles in them.
    As old as this model is, it has a few features most cars don't even offer as standard these days (e.g., heated and cooled seats, sun shades, automatic trunk, premium audio, leather bucket seats, multiple driving modes, etc.).
    Wait, this is in Manila?!?! Good job Kabayan!

    I love this car, I was going to get one, used of course, but I've heard some really harsh reviews about this model. It's said that it has some really expensive suspension problems. The air suspension on this car "allegedly" goes bad and is very expensive to have fixed. Like around a $5,000 fix, and that's just one thing. The breaks, the navigation system are also common troubles that I have heard about that goes wrong with this car. It crushed me and made me afraid to purchase one; very very disappointing. I might just settle for a Camry or a Suburban. I don't what to pay for a car, and turn around and start making expensive repairs. I learned through research not to even touch a BMW and an Audi. I'm a poor man, If I could get this car brand spankin new I would, but used and around 150k, I'm afraid. One guy has one of these on a Tic Tok short that's white and sitting on air and just riding his little but off. It is crazy sharp; I hate him, lol rather I'm hating on him lol, I WANT ONE OF THESE CARS DANGIT!

    • @KyleLiongCars
      @KyleLiongCars  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No matter the make or model, air suspension is always problematic and expensive. I've tried cars with and without it, and honestly, I don't think the difference is worth the hassle and expense.... But that's just me with a tiny budget haha

      @@KyleLiongCars What about a 2012 Ls 460 with about 156k mi for about 12 to 13k, would you trust it if the test drive goes well or would you pass because of that year and model . I am honestly surprised that the center armrest at the back does not have any controls for AC, seats or Audio. Even a 2007 Camry have them.

    • @KyleLiongCars
      @KyleLiongCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is a US spec car that seems to be imported here and not a local unit. Over there, unless you get options, or the long wheelbase, a lot of luxury sedans have no controls for the back. Even some S Classes from the US, Canada, Europe have no controls at the back. Speaking of 2007 Camry, our 2007 Camry Hybrid which was imported here and costed more than the 3.5L V6 Q model locally sold didn’t have rear controls as well. I think this is mainly because these cars are aimed at customers who will drive them, vs here in the PH where they’re aimed at customers who will mostly sit at the back and be chauffeured around in.
