  • Rohan Mazumdar currently works with Qualcomm. After completing his BTech, he and his friend left the Campus Placements and pursued higher studies. This video is the second part of Rohan Mazumdar's journey. His story is a story of a Maverick. After securing admission in his dream Institution, he decides to walk away to find the higher purpose of life. He then comes back, completes his MTech from SVNIT Surat and joins a top technology company called QualComm.
    In the First Part, Rohan explained how he and his best friend prepared for GATE exam. They refused the campus placements jobs they got at VSSUT post their BTech. They decided to pursue higher studies and started preparing for GATE. Finally they got a call from IIT Hyderabad. Unfortunately Rohan's friend could not make it to the interview round and even Rohan decided to get over it and join his friend back at the station to return to their village. But destiny had something else in store for them.

      Yashasvi Mishra
      What is so INSPIRING about this please explain??Its actually pretty silly.I wish the guys who are interviewing him were a bit strict.Perhaps because of him some other interested guy didnt get a seat.

    • @nahopyga
      @nahopyga 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      +Purnima Maity
      (Won't comment on whether it's "inspiring" or not because it was my life decision and it couldn't be taken keeping in mind whether it would serve as an inspiration to others. So whether it serves an inspiration or not is subjective and people have the freedom to take their stand)
      Let me put some lights on very important points that you raised, on a humble note. And I'm thankful to you for raising your concerns.
      There are two very important point you raised.
      One is why they were not strict?
      Look when we go for interviews like this we try to impress panels. But in my case I did the opposite. There were two possibilities;
      1. They would feel offended and kicked me out. (Which I wanted)
      2. My carefree attitude incite curiosity in the panel (Which happened in my case).
      With my personal experience on many interviews, I found that when you give interviews with an attitude of nothing to loose, you always give your best. The mind works amazingly well.
      Now, let's look into another claim which you made.
      I wasted a seat which could have gone to an "interested" student. Right??
      No, interested student couldn't/shouldn't go in there. Only deserving students should get into it. (There is a difference between being interested, and being deserving)
      So, did I waste a deserving seat of another candidate? Yes, ofcouse. And it's really bad thing. But that's how life works. Right!! We don't know what's coming up our way. We need to decide things on the way and need to live with those decisions. I own my decisions and their associated repercussions.
      I wish you all the luck for your endeavors.
      Thanks (:

      We completely agree with you Yashasvi. Rohan's story is truly inspirational. Though we understand Purnima's concern, however these are few points that inspired us:
      1. He is teaching us that we can achieve whatever we dream of. He dreamt of IIT, he achieved it.
      2. When he met his dream, he gathered the courage to challenge the social norms and decided to walk away from it. Despite being under tremendous financial constraints.
      3. He looks for higher meaning in life & once again sets it like a goal. Even Spirituality he chased with a proper method which he still follows in his daily life.
      4. Sets sight on another Top Institute, gets it and cracks a Top Tech company.
      Helluva. He is still in his Twenties.
      And as for what Purnima mentioned, the gentlemen who interviewed Rohan saw a display of sheer brilliance, even though Rohan was not fitting in the norms with his replies. And as far as seat is concerned Rohan walked away in just 31-32 days, The college would have filled up that seat with those in the waiting list.

    • @yashasvibaneswarmishra2959
      @yashasvibaneswarmishra2959 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Purnima Maity I actually kinda rushed off that comment and wasn't expecting it to garner so much attention.
      First of all its super cool to have Rohan bhaina comment on this...!!fanboy moment.😱😱
      Secondly, since by definition a seat wasnt acquired but merely earned,which gives him the right to use it the way he deems fit.
      Lastly,i feel you don't have a knack for today's offbeat corporate culture, which, even I'm not quite sure why , prefers candidates like these who are not willing to let go of their persona or charm even in front of unrelenting clients.which is the reason why I think he cleared the interview fantastically.
      And btw did he mess up the theoretical aspects???No right?..cause masti mazak chalta rehta hai...but Banda kaam ka bhi to hai.
      P.S Rohan sir I'm odia too..and indeed proud of your bedhadak attitude...even my father is a proud alumni if vssut and owes the college a lot in putting him gears to face the world as a successful entrepreneur.

      @@sudipmaity8390 what is so inspiring about this ? Look at the statistics which say India is the most depressed country in the world, the rising rate of student suicides. People dont have the courage to listen to their hearts anymore. We are a nation of youths chasing dreams that were never ours. My own life is an example for this. I cleared NEET , passed out from MBBS with good rank and guess what? I'm so miserable. No one told me there was anything to life other than engineering and medicine. Get good marks, get admission in a good college , life will be set, they said. I'm thankful for Rohan. It is truly inspirational. Its proof that happiness doesn't depend on a rank or a career .

      I'm glad someone asked this question. I always appreciate people who dig deeper like this.
      The background was this. When the interview result was out for interview round, Me and my friend had healthy discussion on what to do next. I offered the idea of not attending the interview. To which my friend suggested that it was good that one of us wass there in that round. The interview experience would help us in further admission process to which I agreed. He was correct in his assessment.
      But I was in dilemma what to do. There was my friend on one side where my heart was telling me to go and there was this interview experience we both needed to have so that it would help us in further admission processes in other institutes. While this was happening inside me, my name got called and all I felt, let's screw it and go back to him.
      It was an instant decision. Not something I planned properly before entering that room.
      I hope I provided you the necessary context for your query (:

      @saurabhsharma7123 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    One querry is from my side rather......we say it takes a lot of time to understand our real being
    And we as a human avoid the thought of engaging into self being.....moving where life takes
    Sir was that easy for u??

    • @nahopyga
      @nahopyga 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Sanjana Fartyal
      No, it was a difficult journey. I always advice people who want to take the same path as mine thinking that it's adventurous or something magical. They all are disillusioned. They need to know one fundamental fact clear that nothing comes easy. The amount of difficulty I had to face from society and other unsaid barriers were huge. It just so happened that I never cared about society and other things. I was single minded. And that's when magic happens when you channel all your energy and mind to discover your inner core. I also believe in grace of parents and an higher intelligence which is ever pervading.
      I still face inner chaos but it's worth fighting for. For me having a secured life and future, having a stability is not sufficient. I need to search for what is the deeper sense of life. Is it something that everyone does and die in the end or something more which needs a quest and a fight, that drives me in someway. Made sense? (:

      Yes , for sure and its a mandate . Every IIT will even conduct a written test once if you clear the test you will be allowed for an Interview unless your GATE score is worthless . So cracking GATE doesn't itself means that you get an admission you are obvious to clear a written and interview BTW This was happened with my friend from IIT -Hyderabd.

Its ok to not know what one really intends to do as in career, or the next step or anything... as long as eventually one clears all the confusion and takes a stand... which Rohan eventually did...

    is there is any chance to reject a studen for his +2 % is 60 in any interview...

    • @rubuzzing
      @rubuzzing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Revathi... there are many criteria for selection or rejection. And only a certain marks are allocated for each.
      If your Grad CGPA, your coding skills, confidence, projects, 12th, 10th results... all go into it. It is not just the 12th %.
      So if your other departments are good and just 12th score a problem then still you hold a good chance to get selected.
