- NBC Live interviews the parents of Cash Lee, a little boy that was initially misdiagnosed and received months of unnecessary medical treatment until he was seen by Stanford neurosurgeon and director of the Stanford Moyamoya Center, Dr. Gary Steinberg. Using virtual reality Dr. Steinberg was able to correctly diagnose Lee and then performed brain surgeries to treat moyamoya.
Great family, amazing story. So inspiring. I'm also a Moyamoya survivor from Japan. Thanks again for sharing this.
He’s 3 yrs old and speaks like he’s 21. Very intelligent child. So glad his mother and father went with their guts and fought for their son. Too many times I’ve sen parent Shiet to work the doctors diagnoses even when they themselves had doubts. We parents need to be our children’s advocates and protect them to the best of our abilities.
How inspiring. I’m a single mother and I just found out that my 5 month old daughter has moyamoya. I don’t know where to start. This was very inspiring.
I really like his role in Good Doctor
Dr. Steinberg has saved many lives, mine included 6 years ago, after I was told hospice was my only choice. Unfortunately Moyamoya is a progressive disease and surgery only slows the progression down.
He saved my life too. How can we thank him? I think it is impossible.
California's Jennifer Lee also had Moyamoya, that's how I heard of the disease. God bless this family.
GOD Bless this family
Bless this family
Thank god it's a miracle.
beautiful little boy HAPA kids are always BEAUTIFUL!
I swear they gotta show a story about a moyamoya patient on the good doctor. I had my moyamoya surgery 2 years ago. It took 16 years for every doctor to find out I had moyamoya! Thanks to the modern day medicine. Dr. Steinberg helped so many people! Thank God for Dr. Steinberg
My dad has moya moya just been diagnosed an he's in his late 40s is this normal because I'm reading that it mainly affects kids it also has taken them over 2 years to dignose to the point my dad had already had 3 strokes and half his body no longer works somthing I'm kinda really concerned and worried about any info or help would be greatly appreciated
They just did, and Park was the lead surgeon for it! Plus the storyline was very much inspired by this documentary
Happy birthday from ex.east! So sweet family😊
God bless this family as always and happy belated birthday Cash 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉
Wow I’ve just been recently diagnosed in 12/2022 after repeat mri scans Ct and angiograms and the medications don’t really help my headaches are horrible along with other symptoms I deal with on a daily basis I’m on medical leave and so far have not been able to get surgery it’s been very stressful and painful , idk really next steps from here as I’m working with my care team 🙏🏾❤️ I’m learning so much more about this myself and they recently did genetic testing as well so I’m hoping and praying through this and god bless him ❤️
Wow. I'm so happy he's ok. God bless the family, the doctor and all the healthcare workers and Cash... So happy he's ok!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Our daughter passed away at 14 exactly one year ago. No one believed she was having strokes. 45 minutes after surgery she had a major stroke and passed away. 02/24/2022
I'm so very, very sorry for your loss.
I have also moyamoya illness i have operations here in Norway 🇳🇴 on October 2019
Thanks to Dr. Marcus he is Norwagian Doctor
How are you now?
I have also Moyamoya
I from India
So if you have been misdiagnosed does those doctor or people liable?
Hello..Do u know anything about the moya moya center in Zurich?ıt is for children.
Hi, my son was diagnosed with Moyamoya but after all tests they refuse to do surgery for him. Would we be able to get his file reviewed from your hospital? We are from Melbourne Australia and would like a team that actually understands the disease and is experienced to review his file. Thanks
You can take your child to hua shan hospital in Shanghai to find Dr. Xu Bin. He's the most experienced moyamoya disease surgeon in the world
My father also has moya moya and they want to send him to Sydney for surgery but I'm quite scared for that fact because apparently the doctor in Sydney is the only one in Australia who can do the surgery we live in QLD it has taken them over 2 years to diagnose and he's now had 3 to 4 strokes they don't 100% know for sure
Why didn t they do the surgery..why did they refuse
My baby 3 years old.. Now attack moya moya syndrome.. 😢😢😢 plz help me😢😢😢😢😢😢
Thank God, the Yun Lee's stuck to their guns. Can't imagine how that poor kid went through all that chemo and pills- was MISDIAGNOSED! I'd be suing the shit out of those Docs.

how can a doctor diagnose vasculitis and then another doctor diagnoses diametrically different disease.
If I had been the parent witnessing that unnecessary suffering of that child I would have gone ballistic on the first doctor.
Doctors are human, human make mistakes. As it is a rare disease it can be missed. Although team work minimize the risk of misdiagnosis.
@@rubaiatsanjidhossain9855 stop brownnosing doctors. They are to be held accountable like any other profession.
@@anurruti Ofcourse, his work should be accounted by the authority as per rule but that shouldn't mean he should be beheaded or shooted. Where the baby was treated is a first world country.
