- Originating as a street vendor in 1961 at Tiong Bahru, the 60-year-old stall has been keeping the old-school way of handmaking its specialised Teochew-style crystal dumplings. The twin Erh brothers, who learnt the skills from their father since young, have inherited the recipe and now helm the stall together. Their father’s recipe, brought to customers through their skills, have led the delight to be featured on the Michelin recommended list.
These dumplings, with their jade-like skin have given the name - crystal dumplings. At the stall, dumplings come in 3 types of savoury fillings - Red bean, Yam and Turnip.
Handmaking crystal dumplings has become a rare sight in hawker centres. With time, unless the skills are passed down to the next generation, it could become a fading trade. Enjoy the nostalgic old-school taste offered by the artisans while we can...

Really salute to this stall owner. From kneading the dough to steaming the dumplings, they put their heart to make quality food. I hope you did enjoy the tasty dumpling during your filming. Thanks for the video.
Well said. We love the food and it is part of my growing up memory.
There is something special about watching true dumpling/wanton masters at work from the making of the dough, to the finesse that goes into the fillings, and to the dance as their hands make the pleats.
