Solo-preneurs/small biz owners definitely need to have more conversation around paying THEMSELVES. & in the Photography biz, especially, CLIENTS need this clarification, as well. Bc I can't tell you how many ppl FALSELY believe Photogs pocket the full amount for packages: For ex, $6500 for a wedding. Many believe that full $6500 goes directly to the photog. Nope, that's NOT how businesses work! ^^using your 10% profit you mentioned, the photog would get paid $650 out of that to get a rough idea of what the Photog actually "pockets". But clients (& other photogs) don't know or understand this.

Your comment has actually given me the idea to make a video on how much photographers actually pay themselves from weddings/sessions! Because you’re right, there needs to be more education on this!!
