Nope, I kept it! Turns out, it just glitches when I use the cheaper off brand batteries; therefore, now I try to use Canon branded batteries whenever possible! :)

Thank you! I filmed this video with my Canon R6 Mark ii, that way I could show my Canon 5D Mark IV in the video. I recorded the audio with my Tascam DR-10L clip-on microphone.

@@adude394 I agree that sometimes it’s hard to get rid of older cameras! I’ve only sold my first Canon T6, but I sold it to my brother in law, so it’s technically still in the family! It’s really just weighing the pros and cons of buying a new camera body as well as weighing the pros and cons of keeping older camera bodies.

To be completely honest with you, I have never used a gray card; however, I do find that Custom Kelvin White Balance is the most accurate tool/setting in my camera for me to use, and it helps me to take consistently white balanced images. I've also just learned what to set my Kelvin White Balance too from years of practicing and eyeing different lighting situations. I recommend that every photographer learn how to properly use it in any lighting situation! I also photograph a lot of weddings; therefore, the lighting situations change rapidly throughout the day, so I have to instantly change my white balance settings quite a bit.

@ I assume you always go to the K on camera instead of custom? And set the number that best looks to your eye?

I'm sorry that you didn't find this video helpful; however, I do discuss a way you can get your shutter count checked. You just unfortunately can't check it yourself currently, but I'm hoping that Canon will fix this issue in the future with new camera models! Have a wonderful day! :)

Yep! You're right! That's what I discovered after calling Canon and asking them how to do it.

You're totally right! It is quite silly that you can't check it easily yourself. I hope that Canon fixes this issue someday, so you don't have to mail your camera into Canon to check the shutter count anymore! However, it will probably only be available on newer cameras (if Canon ever decides to include this feature for Canon users). Thanks for watching!

@@jennifercookephotography Are you worried they will stop working on you soon? How long have you had your 5D Mark IV? I've had mine serviced about twice, but never the shutter. I broke the mic jack a few times. I've had it since launch and I still use it everyday! But I'm more into video, to be honest, so my shutter count is probably lower than a real photographer's shutter count.

@@magnus547 No, I am not worried about that. I've had my 5D Mark IV for about 5 years, but it still works great for me! I've used this camera body for both photo & video, but I've also taken good care of the camera body over the years.

Great question! I used my Canon R6 Mark ii to film the video so that I could show my Canon 5D Mark IV in the video!

First, the first 2 to 3 years of photography/videography income will most likely be put back into the business (that's how it's been for me); however, by year 3 and 4, you will start to profit more and be able to pay yourself more (just depends on how much you make and what expenses you have to pay for before you can pay yourself for the work you're doing). Plan on being able to pay yourself about 30% - 40% per year of what the business is making. Most business owners will tell you that this is the reality of running a business legally. Second, I honestly totally agree with you about KEH camera and used camera bodies and lenses! I actually normally buy renewed or refurbished camera bodies off of Amazon or used lenses off of KEH camera. I am still using EF lenses because I like them, and they work great for what I do! You can also use the Canon R6 Mark ii (this camera body has an RF camera mount) with EF lenses, you just have to buy an RF to EF mount adaptor so you can use EF lenses on your RF camera body (I love doing this)! EF to RF Mount Adaptor here - amzn.to/4hzltf5. Honestly, I am very protective about my camera equipment when traveling, but we do travel for weddings quite often (normally just driving from Tennessee to Virginia also sometimes al the way to Vermont or North Carolina). I just "my Jennifer rules in place" to make sure my camera equipment is protected whenever traveling for work. I'm pretty used to it at this point, so it's just normal. However, if you were flying, I'd definitely get a hard protective, pelican case and always keep your camera equipment with you, no exceptions. I do what I can to protect my gear and keep it with me; however, I also just trust the Lord with my gear, my career, and try not to worry too much. Thank you so much for your helpful comment! :)

@@jennifercookephotography Great video. I want to go from 5dm4 to r5 or r6 2. The over heating during video sounds like a deal breaker. You are saying in 4k 60 it overheats on the r62?

@@mikem6796 Hello! I really do love the Canon R6 Mark ii for video! However, there is the potential that it could overheat if you film for too long without a break in 4K 60fps. I'm never had an issue with it overheating in HD 60fps. I wouldn't say it's a deal breaker, but you also should test it out to know its recording limits before you do an important gig! You could also look into the R5 if you wanted too as well. I have a video talking about the technical specifications about the R5.

@@FoCam-zd7cn Thank you for your comment! And yes, if your image is too bright using the 50mm 1.2, definitely raise your aperture to 2.8. If your image is still too bright, up your shutter speed even more 1/500. You can up your shutter speed a lot if needed. Hope this helps!

I’ve only done a payment plan over a few months before, so you’d need to setup a payment plan that spans over a whole year. I’m assuming that the Canon R5 is better in image quality because it has 45 Megapixels instead of the R6 Mark ii which only has 24.2 Megapixels.
