Late the show here. I am on my third one. The first two had issues with the truss rod. First one was maxed out and would not adjust, the second one the truss rod nut was stripped out. My third now and the truss rod nut is so deep in the neck I need a extra long wrench to adjust. All of them had uneven frets. The second one also had a spot on the horn where the binding was worn through. All three have had varied by numerous issues. The nut on #3 is cut way too narrow and way too high the strings bind in the nut, and the nuts are cut at .035 and .040+. For anyone looking at getting one now the pictures on Amazon are not correct. The new ones only have a colored top the sides, back and neck are black. I read all the rave reviews guess they got lucky as I am 0 for 3. My Cerebus with the FR bridge is fine and loving it The revenge line not so much.
I bought the Westcreek Revenge guitar and it's a solid guitar out of the box i just replaced the strings and put on planet waves lockibg turners and it Rocks now!!!!

Just use boiled linseed oil on the neck to condition and protect the wood. Don't use regular linseed oil or it'll take 18 months to dry. Mine is arriving in the morning. I got the Purple People Eater.
Shawn, bought guitar on Temu. Came out the box same as this guitar. Needed no fret work at all. Leve fret board too. Changed strings and adjusted pick up height and good to play. Very light guitar too!. Would make a good review forr cheap guitar. I got the super strat with 3 pickups. Enjoy you channel!
I just had a look on Amazon here in the UK and they don't seem to be available on our side of the pond just yet. It's an awesome guitar.
I judge an electric guitar by how it sounds like unplugged. It's a very good starting point, only thing that could be bad is the pickups. This one sounds good unplugged and plugged in!

I purchase this guitar when it first came out on Amazon. I did a review of it and a tiny video too. The pickups on mine are not like the ones on yours. Mine are covered and look like the pups I have on my Les Paul. I didn't even change the strings... I took it straight out of the box and checked the strings to make sure they were in tune (my tuners are real tight)… had the wife hit record and played it. It sounded just like my Epiphone Les Paul.
I plan to get another. The purple one. I have the red one now.

I've had the green one for about 2 months now and it has become my 2nd favorite guitar in my collection. I did have to set the intonation, string height, pickup height, and put better strings on it but it's worth the price for sure!
How much was shipping? Is it heavy?
I got a Cerberus and it's a mega guitar for the money; the only work it needs, aside from a little set up, is to enlarge the E-A-D slots on the nut, as they clamp the strings (but the nut is cut at correct heights and is comfortable). Pickups are a bit dark but I learned to use eq pedals in front of everything to sort it out, and with that the sound is magnificent.
I got a bumble b racer today. It had perfect frets as well. The bone nut was cut well. In fact the only issue I have is the pickups will be replaced. They are not bad sounding they just squeal on high gain setting. So a set of SD high voltage are going in.
I still cant wrap my head around how good this guitar is.

You make quality guitars that are custom made. If you had a factory and could sell thousands of guitars, your prices for everything would drop. So yes, Westcreek makes inexpensive guitars, but I think you got a really good one more by chance than design. I like learning more about these cheap guitars from people who know their business, and you guy know your business!
I don't think he got a good guitar by chance most all the reviews I've seen of all west creek guitars seem pretty positive and especially for the Revenge which is why I got one which was damn near perfect out of the Box. I only saw one negitive review where the nut had been cut improperly and he had trouble with intonation of the d string. I think it's more by luck or chance that you get a bad one and even then it's an easy fix

Not everyone has the knowledge or tools to be messing with adjustments with necks or guitars period. It seems most of the import guitars need a bit of work before playable

I purchased one of these recently, and it came with too many problems to ignore! Uneven frets, bowed neck and the tuners were sticky and hard to turn. I made some adjustments, and it still wouldn't stay in tune with a broken in set of Ernie Balls. I decided to send it back and I'm buying an S by Solar.
Just out of the box not bad!
I got a purple one and it freaking rocks just had to raise the low E side of the bridge a hair or two and its good to go. The pickups are really great i think nice and bright sounds good clean and really gets a heavy sound dirty. No complaints at all just leaving it stock.
I had to do the exact same on my racer. Raise the low e side a smidge and its perfect.

I’m coming back to a bunch of Westcreek review videos because I’m about to make a purchase in about 10 days for 6 of their guitars. I already own a DC and really like it (am getting another in this buy), but I’ve always watched videos about the Revenge because it reminded me of an Ibanez Destroyer. So I’m getting 2 of those. I’ve been seeing some of their different Cerebus models (I, II, III) and kinda liked the III the best because it comes with a “Floyd” trem and I don’t have any guitars with trem systems on them so, getting 2 of those as well. And getting one of their Racer models (reverse offset SG) in yellow with the black stripe down the middle. I’m really looking forward to picking these up on the first of October. These guitars will bring my collection up to 17, 2 Epiphones, a Squier bass, a Lyx Pro tele copy that I’m having basically rebuilt with a tele styled neck and a hot rail pickup in the bridge position, 6 Firefly FFSP Les Paul style guitars that I really like an awful lot (5 Elite Bats and a Classic). With the 6 more Westcreeks waiting for me to go get, will put me at 17 guitars, 16 of them purchased over the last year.
you would be well served to go around and look for antique furniture in disrepair. itl be the best wood by far compared to what you can get today and often a broken vanity or book case can be found or a dresser depending on the wood your interested in recovering. i would look for anything with a limed mahogany finish because that was a popular option in the 1950s.and is most likely to be Honduran mohog or anything that's truly antique the woods they used in anything pre 1900 is going to be worth re claiming. if your good at scouring your local area you should be able to find a haul relatively quickly.

I just got a new budget guitar from Xaviere (the 872 Strat clone with two filtertrons). It came with some finish flaws, and the grittiest frets I've ever experienced (seriously, I thought they were going to cut the string when bending), but after a quick polish...I honestly like that guitar better than my Fender Player. Even still, I'm envious I didn't buy that Westcreek when I saw it about two months ago on Amazon. I've just been burned so badly by explorer styles in the past I couldn't justify it.

The body actually looks like an Ibanez Destroyer mixed with a Gibson Explorer, dont ya think Sean? Reminds me of the guys in Def Leppard when they came out with "Pyromania". man, that is still one of my favorite albums. It is full of riffs. Or maybe it was Judas Priest that used the Destroyer first? Im old as hell, so I dont remember.

I saw a video from Big Jake music earlier today of a Westcreek Revenge & his tail peice was marked epiphxxx with the last few letters milled out.
Looks like a winner!
I had to send mine back. Revenge model had ground noise and non-level frets. I could not fret an A chord. Pickups are average at best and not particularly high output. Comparison was with a Kramer XLI w. DM Evolution, Gibson LP Studio, Carvin DC127. It did play normally above the 12th fret, looked stunning, but unplayable 0-12th.

I have three of these guitars and not one of them had level frets and the nuts were not cut good The low e is almost touching the first fret other than that the actual qualities pretty good

The QC has gotten much better and they seem to be listening to the utubers and working on things like nut slot height. I got my racer in today and the nut is perfect.
Where do you store all of these guitars you buy? Do you sell them?
Sean, would I be crazy to try to strip the finish from the body (All they have left is the purpleburst finish)? Is the top veneer thick enough? I play Southern Rock, and I prefer the natural finish. Would also like to install a trem on it. Any suggestions?

it seems to be a pretty ok guitar. It definitely needs a new set of pickups and probably pots and caps. I'd put speed knobs on it, but that's a personal preference.

Hi Sean - they can do it because the Chinese government owns a part of every business in China and they dictate wages so essentially it's slave labor. They manufacture all the raw materials using the same slave labor and they utilize no safe practices in the manufacture process which saves a lot of money and they have no energy or pollution restrictions which save a lot of money and they own the shipping companies that ship the products to the US and they own the majority of the Unites States Shipping ports (Yes, you heard that right - China owns nearly all of our U.S. shipping ports). This is why nobody can really compete with China.

To me it doesn't really matter where it is made as long as it feels, plays and sounds good. I modify all my guitars to sound the way I like.

Sounds great and looks pretty nice too, and I don't even like Explorers that much. Like quite a few guitars featured on your channel, this one's not available in Europe, but then again there are some guitars on this side of the pond which are hard to get hold of on the US side, so it's kind of swings and roundabouts, however, for the price I'm sure many people wish that thing was available over on our side of the water. Personally, I like their DC knock off LP Junior and wish I could get hold of one of those. anyway, keep on keeping on man, your channel is one of the best. #notificationsquad
