This was a month ago. Kathy playing the Georgia Satellites yet? The Censtar is very good looking. Even though the pickups are waxed, I don't think they sound as good as they could. Good thing you are used to getting your hands in there and making things right! The price is definitely reasonable. I can see the value in this guitar. This is a great review. Thanks for sharing!
That dry stack rock/stone work you have on your walls looks awesome. I do stone work. There’s a lot of work that goes in to installing dry stack. Whoever did the work did a great job.
One of the thing that blue fender or whatever it was that that you made yourself. It would look really great if you put a couple racing stripes down that plain blue body. Course you’d have to go get something to match up with it to enhance everything but not the blue color that you put on it so the stripes wouldn’t work would take away from that strong blue color a little.
Hey Sean and Kathy, I hope you’re doing well? Sorry I haven’t been around, been in and out of hospital again. Mate! What a beautiful guitar. Looks like a faded out old Gibson silver burst. The colour they go with age. Anyway, take it easy and catch up with you soon!!! Pauly D!
Wow. I definitely dig the green color on that. I have seen a few videos on Censtars. All of them were positive. I have gotten myself a Volgoa Tele copy. Pickups aren't that great and gonna replace them. But I am very interested in that LP copy there. 0:02
Yes Kathy, there is already enough blue going around in the shop LOL the olive green looks good, and I know Sean was going to play it unplugged first as not to get wacked on the head again LOL. The both of you have a great show! thank you for doing the videos. Ray from SW FL.
bro...Your vibe is cool man...I cannot help but watch your vids because I'm probably just as obsessed with making cheap guitars ten times better and just as stoned...lol
The green burst really looks great on camera. It's not so flashy, but sometimes you want it to be like that. Great video! I have a couple of those Grote guitars and I agree that they don't play or feel anything like an Epiphone.
Just discovered this channel!! And being bit of a guitar snob and loving variety irs awesome to see what your getting out of these cheap guitars so i just ordered my fist china made les paul greenie clone! For $150 with tax and shipping $302 to my front door. Cant wait to see how she plays. Looks like i might need to invest in some tools like that fret scraper and the intonation straight edge
I love this channel! I have so much fun watching your videos! And I learn a lot too. Thanks for the post....I'll keep watching. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to get one of your guitars!
That is a beautiful guitar. I really love that green (green is my favorite color, and that shade of green is perfect for a less paul style). I wont give up my prs for it, but i would definitely have it if my budget was limited to that range. Great score.
Sean that is right in the best way. I mean full pots wax potted pick ups Shealed paint Flame top Great neck Hardware better installed then most And it's in the colour of Money Coil splits Also that's the second one in a Styrofoam pack zero damage Great guitar to mod down the road if you wanted SD sound. I thought your guitar sounded better fatter.... But it's crazy that that's $200 USD It's double up here in the Great White north but a fraction of a LP Cheers guys Doug 😎
I’ve watched several of your videos and thought I was subscribed but I fixed that. I originally came here when I was buying a Leo Jaymz guitar. Ended up being one of the best 120 investments ever. Now it’s Censtar. My wife’s not going to like you, but I gotta tell her it’s your fault
I believe that the Gibsons and Fenders of today will never appreciate like the original ones from the early days did. With everything being made on CNC machines now and PLEK'd a budget guitar can play and hold up as well as a Gibson or Fender. I have a Harley Benton SC500 (Les Paul Custom) that plays as good as any legacy Les Paul. I put tuner, a brass nut, and Guitarheads Alnico Supreme pickups in it and it plays beautifully. $158 to my door!
I have a Harley Benton Les Paul style for $158, and it gets at least 90% of the way to a real LP, at 10% of the cost. The high shipping cost from Europe is the only downside.
The pickup routes look very clean and it's all been shielded with shielding paint. And it doesn't have those crooked ass knobs! Well, maybe a little, but that diamond knob pattern looks a lot better than most Les Paul copies on Amazon. Very nice. \m/
A worthwhile comparison would be coil taps vs. coil split pick ups. There is a noticeable difference. For example, I had an early 80's ES335S solid body Gibson with Dirty Finger PU's and a single coil tap switch. The tapped position was a way cleaner sound than my '17 Les Paul Standard with coil tap pots. Big difference. In fact, the coil taps don't get used because the sound can be duplicated with the tone knob or pedals
Love your presentations and skills. The two Censtar Saturn guitars I got to see weighed 8.7 and 8.9 lbs. Boat anchors. Looked good for the prices, but way too heavy mahogany body and neck. I think your viewers would like to see the weight of the guitars you show, I know I would. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Cathy, if you learn to play guitar, then I won’t be the only female guitarist following Sean! It really is a ton of fun too. Maybe we can start a girls Scarred club if you learn to play! 😉🤘🏻🎸💅🏻😂❤
sweet one brotha! do us a huge favor? feature this one on the saturday live show? id like ya to do a "tap test" and see which coils are still on after ya pull both knobs out....that deserves a "giggety" haha!!
If you wanna check out an amazing inexpensive (I can’t call it cheap it’s too nice) look at the Jet brand. I just got the js400 and holy shit is it ever nice !! 225$
I know it wasnt your color, Shawn. But that is a killer looking guitar for the price. I was surprised to see full size pots on the inside! and perfect frets? Pretty good deal.
I was looking at the Amazon listing for this guitar and I am kind of partial to the Cherry sunburst. The pickups don't sound too bad, kind of comparable to the more current Firefly models that are actually wax potted well. The full size pots is a major plus along with the individual coil splitting. This might be a future purchase. I see the fretboard radius is listed as a 13". Sean, can you verify that and list the weight of the one you received? Thanks, bud.
Coil tap makes it sound a Tele! I wish I had bought that one instead of the Epiphone. Set neck and looks like a long neck tenon. Those necks you brought, if they are that good you have a good source.
What’s up BirdDog? That riff you was playing, is that from a song I might find a “how to play” for? Or can you zoom in to the left and play it again. My eyes are shit these days, but my ears were diggin’ that jam.
Go ahead Kathy start playing guitar with as good as your pickups are you deserve to really feel a guitar beneath your hands and fingers. Sean I'm on your side
Dang, there's even a $30 off coupon right now, so that's $180 shipped + tax. Not bad at all. I would've gotten it, but they never tell you the fretboard radius, and I'm tired of the 14" radius, never mind flatter.
My favorite hang on TH-cam.
Love Scar my Guitar
I just picked up a Firefly Les Paul from Amazon and I love it but that Censtar looks very nice!!
That was the best demonstration of truss rod adjustment I've ever seen. Excellent video.

I really like that green and I liked the way those pickups sound. I may have to get one

Pauly D!
I watched that video with the orange guitar. Biught one it's great. Ready to play right out of the box
That's a great color. I like that one the best. My next one will be that color. Excellent choice.
I bought one and have to say it's excellent!
My guitar player friends are very impressed too.
Enjoy you and Kathy -Learn alot and I have been playing along time!
Rock on!
Sean,I just found your channel recently....I love it Brutha!!
NICE! I like the way their inalays replicate the shape of the headstock.
Wow. I definitely dig the green color on that. I have seen a few videos on Censtars. All of them were positive. I have gotten myself a Volgoa Tele copy. Pickups aren't that great and gonna replace them. But I am very interested in that LP copy there. 0:02

Again, another awesome review! Thank you Sean!
Absolutely! That geetar ROCKS!

I don't know how Gibson stays in business with all these great guitars coming out the woodwork.

Sean, I was gonna check it out, but it no longer is on Amazon! But the Mercury appeals to me, gonna check it, hoping you do, too!
I bought the relic strat from them and it came perfect with a killer gig bag about a year ago

Awesome! Thank you!
Good to see. I've been looking at the Censtar.
Nice vid. Do you think it beats the Firefly?
Is it really a bone nut? I pickups are probably around 8 ohm and weight 8lbs?

I love these videos!
Heck of a guitar at a whamming price, thanks for quality update Sean

I’m very surprised that you haven’t tried out a Firefly Les paul yet….
This brand seems legit, based on your vids. Thanks for going over it so well, Sean. 🤘🏻
Good Channel fun to watch thank you
It looks like a Gibson Silver Burst, they look green too!
Well Kathy you picked a very nice color.
Another great video Sean! 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just ordered the same guitar, lets see if i can get it hooked up like yours

Is the body thinner than a normal LP ? Looks kinda thin in the video. Thanks

Wow. These new Censtars are worth the look. At the start, just needed some fresh 10's.
The only thing i don't like about the $500 custom is the body shape. Sounds great. Any plans for different shapes but same parts?
That guitar sounds real good
Now that's a knife 😂, love your style of unboxing/youtubing 🎉

Enjoying your channel Sean. Like the autopsies. You remind me of Quincy, M.E.
Glad you like them!
Sean being on a budget due to health issues I looked on Amazon Canada and cant find one of these anywhere, is it only available in the US ?
Very cool review sir. Thanks. Is that guitar slightly thinner than most
les pauls? Must just be my bad eyesight. Take care.
Cool "less Paul" lol . How is it weight wise compared to an epiphone or real Les Paul ?
Sean I hope Mr. Tenderloins isn’t watching you open that box with that big scary knife he doesn’t like. . Lol.
😂😂😂😂😂 I remember that guy from a couple months ago. I haven't laughed so hard since. What a pansy. 😂😂😂😂😂

I'm impressed by the quality for the price. I could get two or three at that price.

That thing is "Baby Poop Green".
Green looks great
Cathy don't pay Sean no mind, that "green" looks good! I think its trying to be like a silverburst finish though.
dang it jim!
something possessed my clickity hand and ended up ordering a sunburst model!
oooo the gassness!!!
Everyone of my firefly guitars have a N and a B in a circle on bottom plate just like those. Hhmmm😮
You have to play a Klon Centar with it though.
Thought you said westcreek did.
