    I gotta say Austin Knight is one of the most passionate commentators I've ever heard. Always makes the streams so much more fun and exciting! You guys should have a look at the last lap of the last race in the ARL Mazda Cup, insane finish and Austin completely losing it!

    So the second clip in this highlights reel... They're racing around the Spa Francorchamps circuit backwards? I did not recognize the track until having heard "Blanchimont" mentioned, I took a closer look at the footage. I didn't even realize it's possible to set up races that go opposite to the intended direction of travel on a circuit. I take it this was from a hosted race, because I've never seen that done in any of the official races. I'll have to look for that option next time I set up a "test drive" session.

    • @RcKuba
      @RcKuba 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What? :D That was classic Spa :D

    • @xILoveFishyx
      @xILoveFishyx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's not racing backwards....they're going through the final few corners in the footage.

    • @ledchickenfpv7164
      @ledchickenfpv7164 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RcKuba Ok, I checked and have no idea how I ended up concluding they were running it backwards. The camera angles/positions with the cars coming straight at you in the footage definitely had something to do with it, but when they come through the chicane it's unmistakably clockwise 'round Spa. My bad!

    Anyone else notice how hot those rear brakes were? How much rear bias do these guys run? My word that’s warm 😉

    • @ledchickenfpv7164
      @ledchickenfpv7164 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the exact same thought watching that clip. I don't think I've ever seen only the rear rotors red hot and glowing like that. I would love to know how his bias was set. 🤔

      It is a bug in iracing. Remote cars will only show rear brake glow most times.

    • @Ninja98x
      @Ninja98x 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As someone else mentioned it might be a bug, but they do run a lot of rearward bias in those cars because they're rear-heavy. I've heard like 44-46% is common.

    That pit entry wouldn’t be a black flag IRL
    Double punishment for the guy 😂

    • @ledchickenfpv7164
      @ledchickenfpv7164 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wait, what? Sarcasm? Typo? In any case, it got me thinking about how pit lane speed limits are measured and speaking completely hypothetically, if we were to look at how quickly he's covering ground in the usual direction of travel down pit lane while ignoring sideways velocity, I wonder if he's technically even breaking the pit lane speed limit. Thinking about this brought up another question in my mind though. How are pit lane speed limits checked? I'd expect that using radar guns would be too impractical and complicated to get to work with a dozen or more cars traveling down pit lane at the same time. Does anyone know how this is actually done IRL? I'm thinking some kind of "timing computer" that uses GPS to calculate speeds on board every car would be a reasonable way to do it, but I have no idea how lap timing and continuous speed readouts are actually done in "big league professional" races these days. Here I come again, google.

    Is there some sort of competition going on to see how loud the commentators can scream? Like you idiots dont have to scream. Its major cringe. Just talk like normal people...
